Sorry - I know nothing about forge. I've never used it at all, and had wished to only use ModLoader and TimberMod so as to avoid the Forge thing. My usual setup (like with 1.4.6) is:
ModLoader
TimberMod
Zombe Mod Pack (for the flying mod)
MC Patcher (for either Sphax or Ovos Rustic Redeption Texture Packs)
More Village Biomes
REI Minimap
If I can get all that working - somehow - with 1.6.x, then I'll upgrade for every day play. If not, I'll stick with 1.4.6 for quite some time, I think.
I just want the game to play the way I want it to play, not be forced to stop using all the stuff that makes the game fun for me, you know?
Hey I just got finished re-writing Timber from the ground up in a way that does not require ModLoader, would you like to try it?
Downloaded and in setup loaded ModLoader, bspkrs and treecapitator into the mods area and it doesn't seem to work on cutting down trees.
There is a second section for External Mods and a third for Core Mods (down below) - should one or more be put there?
BTW, I made sure to specify the 1.6.1 in the Environment field.
Argh - I just want it to work.
I sort of wish someone would get all of it working, compress all of that into a single archive (Zip or RAR) and make it available so we can just download, unzip and play.
I'm too brainless to get this working without the help of others.
Thanks again - muchly.
Is Modloader first in the list of mods? If it isn't, just select modloader and click up until it's on the top of the list. Also, external and core mods should be left empty I believe.
Most ModLoader mods should simply go into the "mods" sub-folder that is inside of each one of the "version" subfolders. ModLoader creates this folder the first time you run it, so I'd suggest getting ModLoader working first before adding any additional mods.
That's not happening for me. It's not creating the folder. I have been manually creating it.

Is there someplace I can get the previous version of Modloader or will the current version work with 1.5.2? The older version list doesn't look to have been updated in a while.

Part of the problem, I guess. Argh.
I have found long ago that when trying to get mods installed.... only install one of them at a time. Get one to work, then move on to the next mod and so forth. Each mod introduces so many variable and things which can change that you simply don't know what is causing the problem if you install everything at once. If somebody claims to have a "mod pack", that might be a different story assuming they've already pre-tested all of those mods together, but it isn't typical.
On a side note, I see Forge and Risugami haven't come to an agreement in terms of where to put the Mods. Forge is throwing the mods into sub-folders of the "mod" directory under ".minecraft", while Risugami is putting them adjacent to the jar files under "versions". For myself, I think that system works much better as you can customize your profiles and make sure the mods are related directly to that jar file rather than needing to search your hard drive to find the related folder.
Then again, Forge is telling users not to even touch the new loader, and the Forge installer isn't even working at the moment either, at least for 1.6.2. You aren't the only one having problems with mods.

I know!!! But look, ( http://imgur.com/CWTqHvb ), and I promise that everything runs fine!!! You can't have more then 4 mods though, atlest on a stock MAcBook Pro. And, one has to be Optifine, but you can still run your most loved, used, or essential mods with OPtifine and Magic Launcher (until Risu updates, you can have a few on there)
That's weird, but it's working for me too. haha. Thanks man.
It's ironic that the amount of time for ModLoader to update to 1.6.1 from 1.5.2 is shorter than it would take for ModLoader to update to 1.6.2 from 1.6.1.
I am pretty sure i followed all the correct steps. But when i log into the game, the mods like map mode and shelf do not work and or show up..... Not seeing any errors and yes. im updating to 1.6.2
BUG: modloader is not sending any ontick signals to any mods if the first world you visit is a multiplayer world.
Here is why:
ideally Minecraft.instance's entityRenderer is set to new EntityRendererProxy(instance); It is EntityRendererProxy that calls ModLoader's onTick each time Minecraft's runGameLoop() calls updateCameraAndRender(float f). If instance's entityRenderer is not set to EntityRenderProxy, Modloader's (and hence all the mods') onTick() is never called.
The problem is instance.entityRenderer is set to EntityRendererProxy in ModLoader.registerServer(MinecraftServer server). This method is called from IntegratedServer's constructor.
If you visit a multiplayer world before a singleplayer world, integrated server is not instantiated, Minecraft's entityRenderer is not set to EntityRendererProxy, and neither Modloader nor your mods ever get their onTick methods called.
To replicate, have a mod installed that needs onTick (like, say, Zan's Minimap). Start Minecraft, join a server. No onTick (which in the case of Zan's means no map). Once you load a singleplayer world, onTick works the rest of the time that instance of Minecraft is running in SP and SMP.

Yep - sure will.
Is it a simple drag and drop directly into the JAR? If so, that would be wonderful.
Message me and let me know, or email me at "beardedkirklander" at "gmail" "dot" "com" with the info.
Thanks!

Yes:
ModLoader
bspkrsCorev3.01
TreeCapitator ML
I don't get why it's not working.
I think I am cursed.
It is a drag and drop - and it is only 1 file! I will PM you the link once I have uploaded it.

Version 2.1 now updated for MC 1.6.2
I have a custom 1.6.2 version of ModLoader that I created for use with my own THX Helicopter mod.
You are welcome to try it if you need something until Risugami officially updates. It is hosted on dropbox:
ModLoaderX: 1.6.2MLX.jar

That's weird, but it's working for me too. haha. Thanks man.
Thank you Risugami for updating ModLoader!
Version 2.1 now updated for MC 1.6.2
Only ModLoader, and I've tried loading mods that are suppose to work with ModLoader but no luck, any help ?
I've highlighted your issue with Recipe book. Forge/Forge Modloader is not compatible with it.
I found a bug with the Biospheres mod.
When selecting the type of world generator, the name of the Biosphere generator is "generator.biosphere"
Switching Resource Packs will "fix" it, while waiting for a real fix from Risugami (or Mojang ?).
