Also, when I go into Minecraft and start my save file, click esc and clock Mod Settings and asks me to select a mod, your mod doesn't show up.
Hmm. That means that modloader and settings api were both added correctly, but it's not loading hoverboat. Try just recopying the hoverboat files into the root folder of the jar.
I'm pretty happy with what I have now. I just have one more issue to fix (And I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed it). If you go really fast, occasionally it will spaz out and try to turn you. I have no idea why that is. I think it's java's floats being retarded again. Seriously, I have to do some dumb hacks thanks to **** floating point support.
Ah well. If I can't get that, I'll release it finally.
Fixed a bug that nobody noticed (Thanks Charlotte for being dumb and running into cacti), added support for aforementioned Charlotte (at least for staying in the same mode as you do), verified that the strange bug of spaz and turn is indeed due to floating point limits.
Oh, and as said the turn thing is back (And it actually looks nicer now too!)

Flight mode seems broken.
I don't see difference between flight and hover mode.
In both mode hoverboat just makes huge leaps if I hold spacebar.
i.e. I can't actually flight in flight mode.
Am I missing something?
Thanx for this i got it working on first try btw guys you need to not replace the entire gui folder and lang folders simply go into them and drag the file inside the mod folder to the corresponding folder and not replace everything inside that is what crashes minecraft every time but anyways thaanx for this please try to make it smoother the ride is lagy but it is great if it wasn't so lagy and stuff but great work please btw stop using sand as it that would be great like you said you would it is very stable to so please hack the debug code and release it officialy and email me when you do at [email protected] thanx again 's to you sir
Depends on the archiver. 7-zip automatically merges them, so it was a non-issue for me. How is it laggy? Sand is 'beta' only as said in that post. I'm still fixing some bugs. (Tweaking hover height, fixed a typo, possibly something else to add if I ever actually get around to adding it, and re-adding the tilting effect if I can get the thing smoother)
It is lagy when you have it on default speed it jumps at least 3 to 5 frames when it jumps but great mod when you turn the speed way down but i iwant to go fast

Move forward. Once you have enough speed, pressing the space bar will allow you to climb.

This.
Also, it's based on max speed, that's why turning it down helps. 0.4 is great for gently coasting around because it's not too fast by the way.
I installed this and a skin, and it loaded properly. Froze at the first frame of the game, 30 seconds later it gave me this:
Minecraft has crashed!

I did see a boat, I do not remember if I spawned inside it or not.
EDIT: Just loaded up a different world, got in a boat, and it's like I never installed it. Files are still in minecraft.jar

It's now a different object entirely. It shouldn't effect the regular boat at all.
Also, to the person who wanted me to shift the hoverboat back so you could see better: How much? At the moment I just have it moved back so you are (roughly) in the middle. Is this good?

That was me, and it looks a lot better now, the front of the boat doesn't obscure half the screen.
started with a clean .jar, got the needed files(modloader, settings api, toolutils, hoverboat), and it crashed, not when I tried to start minecraft, but when I tried to open my world.

I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND THROW ROTTEN TOMATOES AT YOU.
Look a couple pages back. There's a beta version.

Can we haz download?

1. Your not Notch
2. You can't stop mods.
3. Why is there a Mapping and Modding section?
4. No one cares if you "frown upon them"
