i can't switch between the modes, this is my first time trying out this mod and i have other mods installed, mostly from the Risugami mods topic, so i'm not sure if this conflicted with the other mods or not.....none of my control keys use the O or P key either, so ya not sure why i can't switch between the modes.
I'm using the latest version, don't have any META-INF folder in my Minecraft.jar file, and i'm trying this out in SinglePlayer, maybe that's the reason??
Other than that, the hoverboat (default starting mode) works fine, i can glide fine holding the spacebar key, but i rly wanna use flight mode for speed travelling....
Or maybe, can you tell me how i can edit the mod so my starting default mode is flight mode?
I'm not sure why it won't switch for you, but to edit that (along with speed etc) just decompile the file in JD-gui or something, and then edit two parts:
public int boatmode = 1; // Change this to 2 for flight and 0 for boat mode
and (Surrounding code because it might give different line numbers)
sry could u do that for me please? I'm a java noob so not sure how to compile them. I have Notepad++ installed and wrote some VERY VERY simple java codes and compiled them fine, and that's about it. I actually tried to use JD decompiler to look at ur code and attempted to compile it again after fiddling around with it, but it wouldn't compile for some reason....
EDIT:
NVM i found out what the problem was, apparently u updated it like 4 times today, i must've downloaded ur older version since the file sizes are different and i don't see the boatmode in the older version i downloaded from a few hours ago......now i have ur most updated version (i hope) and all 3 modes work fine :smile.gif:
Edit2:
actually i still wanna change the default mode into flight mode, so i decompiled and changed the boatmode to 2, and then i tried to compile it and get like 103 errors......
Think you could make a version with just a normal boat mode? I want to use boats on servers, but I don't want to uninstall this every time I go on a server, then reinstall it later (the server I go on forbids boats. I'm sure they would accept this provided the boat gave me no advantages IE went normal speed and had friction in boat mode)
huh???? Then what's the point of asking for this, just use the normal boat implemented into the game already.......
In order to do that, I need to uninstall the mod. I often switch between single and multiplayer. So, once again:

What am I doing wrong?
Either im an idiot or im not understanding how to install this.
What i did.
Downloaded fresh jar file.
opened it 7z archive tool thingy
Deleted the 2 files in Minecraft.jar\META-INF\ (i left the MANIFEST.MF alone)
Changed directory to Minecraft.jar\net\minecraft\. dropped the dc.class file there
closed archive tested game. Game opens properly but mod does not work.

ur suppose to put the dc.class in the root folder of Minecraft.jar. When you open up minecraft.jar, you see a list of folders and tons of .class files right? That's the root folder. For almost every mod, you simply put it there, unless they tell you to put it in a specific folder, then u just put it in the root.
And it's better to delete the META-INF folder completely.

Ok deleted dc.class from Minecraft.jar\net\minecraft\
placed new one direcly in the minecraft.jar file
Now i get a black screen... (wont load at all.)
I sure hope it becomes a new entity cuz its messing up my harbour
u can change the default mode into boat mode, the problem is i dunno how to compile it....well i do but i get errors. Otherwise it wouldn't be a problem then.
it would be nice if while in boat mode, you could hit spacebar to jump the boat, maybe 2-3 blocks off the water. i realize that i can just go hit "o" or "p" to pop into another mode, but those keys are all the way across my keyboard from my controls :sad.gif: other than that small suggestion, this is a fantastic mod.
I did exactly what ur supposed to do, download the dc.class file, put it in minecraft.jar in the .minecraft folder and delete the META-INF folder also, I did exactly that and it doesn't work.
minecraft.jar is in the bin folder inside the .minecraft folder, are u sure u chose the right one?
If yes, then i think u might have to install ModLoader 1.1, search it up somewhere, it's a mod by Risugami.
Ok, got ModLoader 1.1, but now what? Cuz there's only .class files in there.
u install it the same way. For almost all the mods, you just put it in minecraft.jar, unless the mods have specific installation methods which will be specified, otherwise u do the same step.

Then just recompile it. I renamed most of the values, so it should be easy to edit.

copy here? : C:\Documents and Settings\Twilight\Application Data\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar\
IT WORKS YAY!!!!!!
ok just follow this:
1. open up a folder, or windows explorer and type in the address bar, this will take you to your Application Data folder.
2. open .minecraft folder.
3. open bin folder.
4. open minecraft.jar using Winrar or any zip program you have.
5. Drag and drop the dc.class file into it. Just straight inside.
If that still doesn't work and u still get a black screen, then download ModLoader from this topic:

and do the same thing as the above.
And what version are you running on?? Make sure ur running on the latest minecraft version.
I dig straight down.

Because I have a pretty cool landing zone for boats, but I just dont want them to hover.

So how so you break it to put back in inventory :sad.gif:
