This is one of my first attempts at making a minigame... But at a larger scale.
I am building it in Bedrock, but plan on trying to port it over to Java once I'm finished,
The game is simple:
Two teams are teleported to identical floating 'islands' across from one another. The players will then try to knock the other team off of their island by throwing fireballs. The fireballs will cause damage to the islands as well as deal a bit of knockback. One team wins when the other teams' players have all fallen off their island.
Features:
A large arena to house the islands. Status: Completed
A large lobby that overlooks the arena. (Here you will choose which islands you want to play on). Status: Completed
Selectable islands (different islands to choose from). Status: 60% (3 out of 5 levels completed).
Fireball throwing. (It has a short cooldown). Status: Completed
Special effects. (Fireworks, sounds, etc.). Status: Not started
Features That I Want To Add:
Multiplayer. (2 or more players on each team instead of a 1v1). EDIT: This map will be able to do 1v1's and 2v2's!
Powerups. (Invisibility, jump boost, quicker cooldown for the fireballs, etc.). EDIT: Thanks to ItsDandD this will all be happening + many more!
I will check things off once I finish them.
As of today, I have the 101 block wide sphere for the arena complete and detailed (see attachments). It looks amazing in person, even more so for myself, because I hand placed the 26,000+ blocks. I am currently in the stage of filling it a bit less than halfway with water (hence all of the signs... also handplaced, but with the help of ItsDandD). The water will be what the players fall into once they fall from their islands. It will also detect them, put them back into the lobby, and decide the winner(s).
The attachments you see show parts of my progress on the build.
Huge thanks to ItsDandD. He will be setting up all of the command blocks so that everything runs smoothly.
I started to add details to the lobby. From the shell I will add more blocks to define its shape. The attached picture shows some of the layers I am adding over the shell. There is more than what you see done to it because I added more after taking the screenshot. After this step I plan on chiseling it out. I also redesigned the bridge of the ship because I did not like the look.
I slowed down on the build because I've been busy, but I'm back on track again (sorta).
Look at my first post for progress updates. I've completed the lobby and have now moved on to making the levels. I've attached pictures of the completed lobby.
I have high hopes for this map and don't plan on stopping.
The third level is now done. I also started to make a separate structure to hold each of the levels so you can view them before picking.
Funny that I thought it would be done by the end of last year. I want to finish it in the next couple of months but don't take this seriously because I have work and school.
I'm really tempted to just release it with the 3 levels. What do you think? I can make more levels, but I don't have anymore reasonable ideas at the moment.
The command block elevator in the lobby stopped working after some of the newest game updates. Thankfully ItsDandD was able to rebuild it to a working condition. The first version of the elevator had the command blocks inside the lobby hidden away, but that was very cramped, so the commands have been relocated in a separate housing.
I have come up with a lighting solution for all of the level / maps and will be incorporating them soon as I finish up the fourth level.
I think I did a decent job with the lobby, but it has been long enough now that I dislike the exterior. Imo it just needs some wings, but that will take more time.

I will keep you all updated!
Update:
Finished filling the sphere with water.
Now it's basically done, so I will be moving on to the lobby.
I took a video of the sphere being filled, but I have no idea how to upload it here. Could anyone show me the procedure?
Thanks.
Update:
The shell of the lobby is complete. I will shape/detail it from this point, then move on into the interior.
The final shape of this star ship themed lobby may end differently than it looks as of now. See attachments for my progress.

Update:
I was busy this last week, but got back to the lobby recently. The outside of the star ship is taking shape (see attachment).
My original goal was to have this done by the end of the year, but I don't know if that's going to happen. We will have to see.
Update:
I'm nearly done with the outside of the ship. I made a ton of progress on the rear and will be moving on to the bridge (see attachment).
This will not be done by the end of this year. I am putting a lot more detail into this than I thought I would be.
Don't worry this build isn't dead. I have been busy lately and took a break.
I have attached pictures of more exterior modeling. i still have to do the rest of the bridge and the bottom of it.
I would appreciate it if someone chimed in and showed me how to get the pictures directly in the post instead of attachments.
to do so copy a opened file

you just wasted your time
hi by the way
Hmm. Doesn't seem to work for me.
Update:
The lobby just needs the bridge to be complete before moving on to the interior.
I have an attached picture of the completed underside.
Wow it's been awhile.
I slowed down on the build because I've been busy, but I'm back on track again (sorta).

Update:
Finished another level. That makes 2 total now. I want to finish at least 5 before releasing the map, and then add more in the future.
I'm open to level design ideas, so feel free to ask!
Still on and off with the levels right now.
I'm tempted to start off with just 3 and add more, but I don't want the game to get boring.
Once the levels are done I just have to polish things up and get all of the commands done.
Don't worry, I will be clearing out the ground so it appears that you are actually in space.
Slow progress as usual.
The third level is now done. I also started to make a separate structure to hold each of the levels so you can view them before picking.

Well, here's another update for you:
