I am beginning a new adventure map project. For this project, I will look to the community for various suggestions. I feel that this method will create a sense of community for those who support the project through its development. In this post I will outline the requirements for these suggestions based on the type of suggestion. I will also include information for those who would like to aid in the development of this project. This project will likely be a large project, and will probably take several months to over a year to fully develop, depending on how many of you decide to aid in the development of the map through physical means of building it with me. However, I can only accept this help at certain times as I am currently enrolled in college and have other commitments outside of Minecraft to keep. Screenshots coming soon.
Lore/ Backstory:
Unnamed Civilization:
I will leave this civilization unnamed for now, as I'm open to a community suggestion for it. This is the first civilization that dawned in the New World. Nestled between two rivers running from the large mountains to the north, this civilization first settled in the hills near the coast, with fertile flood plains to the north. In ancient times, agriculture was not developed, and the citizens of this once tiny village relied heavily on the nearby sea for their survival. The original inhabitants were very religious, building a great temple to honor their deities. As the village progressed and expanded, they developed agriculture and investigated the flood plains to the north. Using their now advanced knowledge of engineering, they were able to create levees, controlling the flood waters and allowing them to settle new land for their expanding metropolis. Monumental wonders of architecture allowed them to transport freshwater from the nearby mountain springs to the city itself, giving them a source of clean water. Today, this thriving city has expanded its empire, encompassing a total of seven cities, and stands as the largest power in the New World.
As the Lore section becomes more fully developed, I will move it to a spoiler to conserve space.
Updates:

Album Contains:
WIP Picture of the Ancient Temple, still needs a little detailing work, but its mostly done
WIP Picture of the terrain, path, and starting dock
WIP Picture of the ocean floor, still needs a large amount of terraforming before it can be considered complete
Finished detailing on the Ancient Temple, Worked on the ocean a bit more
Album Contains:
Finished picture of the Ancient Temple at night, for lighting effect
WIP Picture of the ocean, this is to show a more finished version of the ocean, the final ocean will be much deeper, as this is more of a shallow outcropping of the ocean
Information For Suggestions/ Contributions to the Project:
For a Civilization:
Number of Cities:
Number of Towns:
Number of Hamlets:
Standing Army?:
Standing Army Size:
Political System:
Economic System:
Enemies (If applying after other civilizations have been determined):
Allies (If applying after other civilizations have been determined):
For Independent Cities/Towns/Hamlets:
Name:
Political System:
Economic System:
Surrounding Terrain (Please make it logical, see terrain guidelines for more info):
Style of Building:
Path type:
For Terrain Features:
Please provide an in-depth description of the feature, and if it seems out of the way, please include a way to incorporate it into the story. The more detail, the better the suggestion.
Terrain Guidelines:
Please use reference to real world terrain and try to have it contain a way to add to the story. (eg. Suggesting an ocean trench if there is no underwater section of the plot is pointless, as no one is likely to see the feature) Real world terrain focuses more on how the world actually is. This means most deserts have a mountain to the West because mountains block air currents coming from the sea. This does not mean I will deny suggestions of deserts near oceans, as the Sahara is proof that it can happen. But placing a desert next to a tundra seems highly illogical. This also means that placing a jungle in the far north or south is illogical, please keep those near the equator, which is where the map begins. If your suggestion requires it, I can make it on a new continent by creating an ocean, thus separating it from the previous terrain and giving you a blank slate to work with. I highly encourage in-depth suggestions and feel free to contact me for more info about the current terrain of the map if you feel it may influence your suggestion. I will try to keep updating screenshots of the map to provide people with a sense of the terrain.
Development Aid Guidelines:
If you would like to contribute to this project, please contact me via private message on here and hopefully we can arrange a time for you to assist with the building of the map. Please include your areas of strength in the message, using the points listed below. I also ask that you include any areas that you feel could use improvement and are willing to improve. (eg. If you aren't a great builder and want to gain some experience, please include that in your message.) If you are not interested in developing that particular skill, you do not have to include it in the message. My goal of knowing this information is to use it to pair you with someone who can help you develop these skills, as that is part of the underlying goal of this project; to help improve my own map making skills, as well as the skills of others.
There are no strict rules for aiding the development of this map. However, some key points I must ask that you look at are:
Building Skill
Lore Development
Terraforming Skill
Command Block Usage
If you do not feel comfortable with your usage of any of those, please do not attempt them. You are not asked to contribute to everything. If you feel your specialty lies in terraforming and setting up command blocks, then go for those and leave building and lore to the other volunteers and myself. If you wish to practice some of these skills so that you feel comfortable to make contributions to them, then ask for help. I will gladly provide terraforming assistance and can point you to quite a few building tutorials and methods that I will be using myself. I hope that other volunteers will also provide assistance in their areas of expertise. I will not insult your work if I find it to be sub-par, and even then, I won't be holding you to an extremely high standard. I will rather, add constructive suggestions and probably point you to another volunteer who can help you improve your work. Please do not take this personally, as it is only to ensure the map is of high quality for the enjoyment of the community.
For builders, you may use VoxelSniper and WorldEdit to assist you in building. I will be creating back ups of the world in the event of a disaster with these powerful plugins. Other than that, builders need only to use building styles that fit the description of each city, town, or hamlet that they are building in.
For terraforming, you must be able to use VoxelSniper and WorldEdit. I'm running VoxelSniper 5 right now, and will upgrade to VoxelSniper 7 once it is complete enough to use, but currently, version 5 contains a large amount of brushes that give it a clear advantage over the development version. This plugin also comes with a lite mode, which is extremely helpful when learning how to use the plugin. Also, I must note that all terrain on this map is created. It is a superflat map. This saves time by cutting down on removal of unwanted terrain during terraforming.
Since the map will be designed using a server run from a laptop on its last legs, (It has some heating issues and I'm saving up for a new one) I will also include this: If you feel very involved with this project, and have a server which can host it, you are welcome to do so. I must require that I have access to the server files, as I will be making a backup of the map daily to ensure that it does not suffer from any mistakes involving WorldEdit/ Map corruptions. Please contact me via private message on here if you are interested in this.
A Note on Suggestions/ Development Aid:
All creators of suggestions/ developers of the map will be credited in the release of the map, however this map is not for profit, so do not expect any financial compensation. This map is purely for developing building/ design skills as well as providing a high quality adventure map for the Minecraft community.
10/19/15 Updated Progress Pictures, Ancient Temple Completed (Ocean, Ancient Temple), Updated the Lore section and condensed the information for Suggestions/Contribution into a spoiler to conserve space.

I am strongly encouraging suggestions at this point, as the terrain for the first city is nearing completion. I'd love to get the community involved with this project, but if I don't receive suggestions then I must continue with the map on my own. I feel bringing the community together for this project will produce a high quality map and I hope others feel the same.

I just wanna know if your doing this alone
Currently yes, but as mentioned in the post I'm looking for assistance.
Also I've been off for the past few days, had some essays to write for college but I have some free time again now.
