Ok so I'm commenting here because you never seem to be on Skype but, I'll be avalible if you need some help on this. Also I have a few things I'd like to run by you If you get a chance. Say maybe next Friday or Saturday around 6:30-7:00pm your time. Hopefully you've seen this by then...

Yeah, I've been plenty busy lately, with three major assignments due this week. Friday, I'll most likely try to recover from all the fatigue, and Saturday, I'll probably be available. Sorry for the lack of communication these past two weeks!

Yeah I know I should have said something when you were on Skype the other day but I'll call you Saturday so we can talk about some of my crazier Ideas for you.

Cannot wait. Just simply cannot wait. Monarch of Madness was a funny, interesting and well built map, and I look forward to what you do with this one! So far, looks really good, and I for one have this bookmarked in the hopes of being one of the first to complete it =)
Thanks! It's always nice to see more people looking forward to it! If you're one of the first to complete it, you'll probably also be one of the first on the scoreboard when that's also created.
Thanks for the support! I'm working on it at the moment, if only for a few little details with architecture. I'm really looking forward to finishing it as well!
You know what hasn't been shown in a while? Screenshots. You know what I have right here? A screenshot.
Yeah, I'm gonna leave this one up to your imagination...
(Hint: It covers a surface of around 45 000 blocks, and it's a re-used build. The picture is also not fully loaded because the render distance doesn't work that far.)
You recently asked on one of my videos, about map duration.
I'll be honest, for adventure maps, I want something I can play in 1 to 2 hours and then move on to the next map. That's about as much story as I can fit in my head and keep my interest up. If it's something I have to play over multiple nights, that's even worse (for me) because it probably means 3-4 days go by in between play sessions.
Also, I feel like most map makers will have trouble balancing a map longer than that. There will be some areas that feel less polished than others. Better to focus energy in a manageable space, and then put out additional sequels.

Yeah, I guess that does make sense for some. Maybe some want maps to play quickly and move on to something else...
But in this case, when all the maps inside could have been placed outside and into their own threads, doesn't it kinda make it as if you're downloading a compilation of work, similar to the Toybox or the Adventure Complex (the latter of which definitely lasted a long while)? The way I'm designing it is more like a game of its own than a map, because in the end, maybe I am aiming for something played over the course of several days. Is that too foolish to try with the community as it is? Would I perhaps be better off making a thread for each map, spaced by, say, two weeks each, so that it's easier to keep track of them for those who play more like you do? And if so, would it still be safe to assume that I could keep up with the original compilation map along with the individual ones?
I'm thankful for your input, as it does make me consider some new possibilities before I get in too deep. I mean, it has been in the works for 8 months now, so I guess it's pretty far into it at this point... but it's better than waiting until release.

It's just my opinion. And I think most YouTubers like shorter maps as well.
But it sounds like you could sell this as something that can be broken up very easily into multiple smaller sessions.

No, not foolish - I'm sure there are lots of people who like longer, epic adventures.
Yeah, it's always a matter of preference, and I never were one who tried catering to the majority's preferences, but it's always good to look at both sides. I'm sure I'll figure out the right way to arrange everything in the best way possible without hurting the quality or quantity. Thanks for your thoughts!
Hey Darko, long time little talk. I'm having trouble recording so it may be a while till I can get the vids I promised out. In the mean time check your Skype, I sent you a file to look at. It may be a bit confusing and or of little use but they are my build plans so yeah.

Yep, I checked it out quickly. Good little plans, those. Seeing how I was gone since Wednesday, and only came back two hours ago, I couldn't have watched those videos anyway, had they been posted during my absence. I do have a lot to catch up on, so I'll probably wait until Monday to get back up on Skype and other networks, but it'll happen. Thanks for the file, and for taking time to do this!
I'm almost embarassed to say that im just now seeing this map. Can't wait til it's done ,even though that's probably gonna be at least a year from now. Also, is MoM 2 on hold, or is fentom working on that by himself?

MoM2 is still WIP right now. We are gathering a few idea and buildings that we like and have had discussions on it. We currently have no release date and due to some complication it may take quite some time. With the team we have Darko is the only builder. He has been working on the castle in SP(I think its in SP) and once that is complete he and Fentom will just need to finish the story line while I, and the team, put the finishing bits in. (AKA all the guts) Currently we have the help we need but we may need to get a few more people on the team at a later date. (This is something we still need to discuss)
Also, Darko, you are welcome. It's nice to have someone to show/give my crazy ideas to.

Although the entire map may take over another half a year, the maps within will be done pretty quickly once summer rolls around. The thing is, MoM 2 will be in this map, and released on its own as well once I'm done with it. Fentom will help with the storyline, Bloodmists will help with redstone, and I'll be doing all the building and a good part of the story. We also have quite a few testers specifically for it, so it's all going well.

Like I said, I think the project will be much easier than expected, ever since I took the time to shape up the castle and think of the story with Fentom two or three weeks ago. I can't remember if I told you, or if I only told Fentom, but as I just mentioned to Acegick here, we'll be pretty much fine with a team of three and some testers. So I can depend on less people and be sure that you, Fentom and I stay as the main core of the team for PoP. I also thought of a way to release the map in a more convenient way, but I'll keep that for a Skype chat sometime this week.

I really like the looks of that boss battle!
My Minecraft Maps: coldfusionmaps.com
All right, I'll try to be available then!
Not a whole bunch of projects, but it made some progress, for sure.
And a boss battle? Where? I don't see any boss battle...
