Don't worry folks, your warnings of the dodgy download link have been heard!
With Christmas and New Year having just been, and with some of my A-Level exams coming up next week, I'm a little busy right now but will release a further update when I can, most likely just bug fixes, although more side quests are in the works.
Talking of which, I'm planning to do an extra six, and three are already planned in my head. I quite like the idea of getting the community and supporters involved so, should you have tumblr, feel free to head here to submit your side-quest story ideas!
I'll try and re-upload the download stuff when I can, but like I said, I am a little busy, so bare with me.
This looks really good I just saw it on Bluexephos's channel they had sound effects on theirs and I was just wondering is that default with the map or did they do it themselves?
aha my first customer! Yes the sounds are included within the files for the adv map, following the instructions for set up should change them for you
However, the map is only on version 1.4.5, so you may need to back track in minecraft versions for it to work. Will be releasing an update when I can, but I'm so dang busy right now, so it won't be up to date for a little while yet, sorry.
I think im doing something wrong, and i cant figure out how to get the items renamed. can you help me out with this, i got the other stuff i think but none of the items are renamed in the map. what am i doing wrong?
As it is nearly midnight here in the UK, let me try and some up a few of the questions that have been asked:
- I understand that there have been a few issues with it working. Please note I am doing what I can, and will be putting the map back up for download shortly, though it will still only be on 1.4.5
- I will be bringing out the next update hopefully by the end of the month. Just a few big/glitch/exploitation fixes, a few new tweaks to the appearance and 1 new side quest. Just bare with me as my education does come first, surprisingly.
- The download will, sadly, be down for a while. It has been point out to me that I could get sued for (unknowingly to me) including the .jar file in the download. Will be back up as soon as I can get it done!
- Latsly, I am also looking for help from anyone who can offer it. While I can build a map and sort the texture packs (to the best of my ability) my technical ability in terms of sorting out downloads and organising files and the like is lacking to say the least. If you think you can help and have EXTENSIVE knowledge of this sort of thing, your assistance would be appreciated. If so, email me at [email protected]
Thank you all for the support, it's nice to see this near 2-year in the making project has reached a much larger audience than I ever thought it would! Night, folks!
I just got this and I haven't had a chance to play this because it won't let me add Optifine to this:( My computer is practically a dinosaur so if I don't use Optifine then I lag... BAD! So I was just wondering if there was somthing I needed to do to be able to use Optifine with this?
Welcome to the hub of "Fallout: Rebuilding Humanity", the Fallout inspired adventure map that takes you into the heart of a whole new (blocky) wasteland. This story will be unlike any other map you have played, spanning both a main quest, side quests, easter eggs, co-op only areas and an in-depth story for you to uncover.
Story Introduction
The year is 2351, and the world is but a shadow of its former self. Many years before, a war broke out between the USA and China, with countries taking sides as the two world powers fought over the last of the fossil fuel reserves. Eventually, it led to the launch of nuclear warheads from both sides that destroyed civilization and wiped out almost all life on Earth. However, once the radiation subsided many years later, the survivors came out of hiding; the wasteland met them.
What remained of the human race endured and soldiered on. Yet, while some tried to rebuild humanity, some were so blind they continued to destroy it. You are one of the "lucky" ones.
Before the bombs fell, underground shelters had been set up, known as Vaults. If an apocalyptic event occurred, humanity could remain safe in the Vaults and, eventually, start fresh. They could recover what had been lost.
You have spent your entire life in Vault 81, as have your parents, knowing nothing of the outside world. However, when you wake up one morning, the residents of your Vault are nowhere to be found, with no clues as to why. Why exactly were you left behind? Why has everyone left? Where could they have gone? You decide to leave the Vault to search for your family and friends.
You will have to find a way out of Vault 81, but the road ahead will be a dangerous one... because war; war never changes.
GAME FEATURES
- Featuring a lengthy campaign, with lots of secrets to discover, you will explore a vast new wasteland, meet new people and delve into the infamous Big City You will even come across optional co-op only areas that revolve around simple puzzles that cannot be completed by a single player. While not key to the story, they will grant you a few extra items or information that will help you and a buddy in your attempts to survive the horrors of the wastes.
- The game, characters, story, events and references are, as far as I'm aware, all accurate to the lore of the Fallout games and its respective universe. Expect references and appearances from the items, events and characters of previous Fallout games, mainly Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
- After completion of the main quest, you will gain access to four side quests that unlock new areas in the adventure map, opening up for the player(s) to explore. Two of these quests have their own texture packs to allow for further detail and immersion. One of these side quests is recommended to be played by two players for reasons you will discover. Rest assured all will become clear upon beginning the quest.
- The adventure pack download bundle contains everything you need, including the necessary texture packs. These texture packs have been made specifically for the map and are, therefore, a must! Every block available has been used to allow for better detail so, sadly, other texture packs won't work well with this adventure map.
- A tutorial area is located near the beginning of the adventure, should you want a helping hand in getting to grips with the basics of the map. It's highly recommended you find it as you will learn some important lessons and perhaps get a free item or two.
- Expect to face many familiar threats that you love and know from the Fallout world, including: Super Mutants, RadSpiders, Raiders, Feral Ghouls, Nightstalkers, Talon Company, Brahmin and, of course, Creepers.
- All items in game are related to the Fallout universe, including weapons, armour, food and countless miscellaneous items. You will be sure to find; Nuka Cola, Power Armour, Brahmin Steak, Combat Knives and a fully animated Hunting rifle!

Edit: Nevermind.... It was probably Chrome behaving bad....
may not have been. The files have the (huge) map file, multiple texture packs, a few videos for locating side-quest entrances and all sorts.
PS Grats on having your map spotlighted by the yogscast
