Is there a 'simple' way to clone a building and replace some of the blocks with different blocks.
For example: I am building a village and I want some of the houses to be dark wood and some light. How would i go about doing that without having to replace each block individually?
I know how to use the /clone command and the /setblock command

no your coordinates should not be the same I mean it works with the same pricipe: first coordinates are for the upper left corner and the second coordinates for the lower right if you knwo what I mean. just the same way of selecting the area you want to fill or clone.
and the fill command: the 0 behind the ID is the number of the kind of wool you want: /fill -1635 78 -469 -1637 79 -471 wool 2 replace wool 1
to know what coordinates you want to fil you need to clone your house to were you want and then select the house to replace the wool 1 to wool 2

What do you mean by that? can I use same coordinates?
my cloning was
/clone -1610 88 -474 -1602 94 -482 -1630 88 -482
which worked perfectly
my replacing was
/fill -1635 78 -469 -1637 79 -471 wool 2 0 replace wool 1
I want only the wool 1 blocks to change to wool 2 blocks but it filled in the entire cube wool 2
