Hi everybody! If you are like me and subscribed to the majority of popular youtubers, you already heard of a game called Five Nights At Freddy's. And i thought, why not make a map out of it? But the thing is, i don't know a flying **** about commands, or making maps with more advanced tools than in-game building. Even if you think this is a dumb idea, and no one will make it, i'd still like to share some ideas as to how it would work:
Since we cannot really have tablets in minecraft that show a different part of the map, it has to be done with teleportation.
We will also need to somehow make people stay in one place, so how about a box of black wool, or coal, so it looks like you are looking out of a camera.
As for the animatronics' movement, they should simply be randomly teleporting structures. (Well, not COMPLETELY randomly, as we don't want them in the guard room, or outside the map.)
But pirate cove's fox should be a speed 10 zombie or something. XD
As for jumpscares, i thought of simply teleporting the player to a room with a painting's texture switched out for the jumpscare screen with a resource pack. This can also solve the scary sounds problem.
I just thought of this and started to make a map (it might take quite awhile). So I was thinking for the teleportation it can be a armor stand (from the new snapshot) with a mob head retextured to look like one of the animatronics. Good Idea with the jumpscare thing! Foxxy could just be zombie with a slight speed upgrade set up to teleport you when you get hit. For the cameras the teleporting sounds good, it should detect when your on a certain item slot causing you to teleport to the room that the item slot is connected to. it would definatly need a resource pack (for the many sounds and textures). But this map would be very complicated and take months. Hope you liked my ideas i will be working on it for a while now!

I think foxy should not become speed 10 until he is out of Pirate's Cove. The teleportation thing is as good idea, you could teleport the player into some barrier blocks so they can't move. You would, however, need something at hand for the player to be able to change constantly, including a "Return" function. Doors and lights would be really easy to do, just some pistons with blocks for the doors, and redstone lamps for the lights. Who knows if I myself will make one, I kind of have to be in the mood.

Foxy wouldn't be able to be a zombie with speed 10 because it wouldn't be able to find you from where it spawn ad it would be too fast. I was thinking of a speed 5 zombie that will only spawn when foxy gets close to your door (also change the zombie sounds to a jump scare noise :P). For the cameras there could be maps that are named the room that you are going to look at and on the map there would be the room (I mean in the corner of the security cameras on the real game) that your in currently, highlighted. for the lights they would also have to sometimes spawn the enemy there (if the enemy is close). The doors would be pistons with blocks on them but the would be command blocks detecting for that certain block at the closed spot. that could maybe drain your hunger which could be your power. Just thought I'd let you know what I thought!

I was wondering about the power thing. How about a /scoreboard thing? You could do the dummy effect, and deduct points whenever you "Used power". Once you got to 0, you could have it set so that all of the lights go out, and Freddy appears. However, just like in the game, the night can still transition if he's there. The night lasting thing would take a lot of repeaters, but it would work.

I was thinking the /scoreboard thing could be for the time (or I might be able to put both). yes the light thing when your power goes out is exactly what I was thinking and for when he appears it could be a armor stand with a special head (that looks like freddy when his eyes are glowing) and have a light flashing behind him. also for the night cycle thing every minute it would have to hit a command block updating the time so that 1 hour would have passed.

Also, if I ever do make one of my own (You can take this as a suggestion, too), I would try some voice acting for the phone calls. It may require some editing to make it have more static, but personally I just really like to voice act.

Idea for the Freddy hallucinations - using the new snapshot command replace, you can put a pumpkin (with a re textured screen overlay) on the player's head.
I believe that you could use map technology used in one of . You could use that to scroll through cameras. Also, there should be a scoreboard for how much power you have left.
You could use the 1.8 snapshot's Armor stands for the animatronics, or a texture pack in which the Zombies, Zombie Villagers, Zombie Pigmen, and other mobs around that height and similar body shape into each character. ALSO, you could make it so the jump-scares are sounds from resource packs. And you could make the ambience extra creepy, so whenever it played it would add to the fear of the game itself.. also, you'd have to make the textures HD to get all the parts in.
Another idea, you could make it so the scoreboard can show you the power you've got left, and also the amount of nights you've spent there could be the amount of a certain item, like a clock or something.
And if you're on a bukkit server, you could make it so when you pass the first 5 nights, you get the option to become one of the animatronics and your goal is to exit the facility via the security room.. and you could also make it so when there's an animatronic near you, you could have the EXP bar fill up more. *NOT DONE YET* You could also make it so the animatronics have different paths if the players replace the animatronics..
maybe you can use the new sea lanterns as the door lights, and if there is a command for it, use a command to change the settings to be the super secret settings black and white. you could also use the new banner command (dont know what its actually called, its the one that displays text on your screen) to make the part where freddy says "its me". if you make a resource pack, make certain music discs sound like the guy who calls you in the beginning of each night. if you have time, you can pose armor stands and teleport them in a sequence to make the foxy animation. you could also make it so that it detects that you press a button, and it shuts the door while also setting off another string of things, like counting down your experience bar (power bar) and makes it so, if the door is closed, certain redstone gets cut off so the animatronics cant get to a certain teleportation sequence that sends them into the room you're in and kills you.
I'd definetely play this, but how would you make the animatronics move towards you?

Aromor stands are an entity, and can be posed and teleported, you can use armor stands to do the animatronics and wider posing than a zombie. plus aromr stands would be easier to turn into an endoskeleton in a resource pack than a zombie
I am actually working on a map very similar to this, but not the same. It involves armor stands, some of which move. So yeah, it's possible to move them.
