Unfortunately, I won't be around that weekend. Or at least, for all of Friday and most/all of Saturday. That weekend, and the weekend of April 4-6, are probably the worst possible for me. Well, maybe I'll just do my map the weekend before. I intend to livestream it, sorta like I did with the last Jam (despite the fact that last Jam, I lost inspiration halfway through). So, maybe I'll livestream the mapmaking the weekend before. Which I suppose would be next weekend?
...wait, I wouldn't know what the theme is. Hmm. That wouldn't work. Oh well, maybe I'll just do my Jam map the weekend after instead.

Alright. I'll be able to join, but I won't be available for quite the full weekend. I'm not sure exactly how much time I'm going to be busy for, but I think I'll still have enough time to pull off 3 objectives (possibly 4). I definitely won't be able to include as much content as, say, A Matter of Time (which had 5 objectives), but I'm still excited that I can participate!
It's been one day, of course we aren't going to get closer to actually picking at topic. I asked you guys to brainstorm themes, not choose one. And I was planning on doing a poll anyway, you really don't need to suggest obvious things like that; I know what I'm doing.
Sorry, it's just that this is my first jam and in general I'm new-ish to the CTM community :P. Speaking of that, are there any other types of events like this that have ever been done within the CTM community?

The only one I'm aware of is the first Strawberry Jam thread, which hosted two Jam events. Other than that, nope.
So do we have to stream the map being made? Cause if not is it just trust that we all won't use schematics.
You don't have to stream it, or even record it. We encourage you too, but no one is going to cast a glance of suspicion your way if you just submit an entry at the end of the event without any footage to show you made it.

So a few general questions about this (sorry if these have been answered and I just missed it):
1. Can you use spawners/schematics that you used for a previous map (not schematics of giant dungeons of course but things like giant shrooms and custom mobs)?
2. Do we all start and end when it starts and ends in a certain timezone or in our own timezone?
3. Can you plop down a giant bedrock box and using a block randomization filter on it as preparation the day before the jam starts (I have a laptop so block randomization filters take around multiple hours for me)?
4. How exactly should we define a mini map? By this I mean what length, how many monument items, etc.
5. Do we need any definite proof that we made the map without any help from other people and using only our own filters? Also can we use things like Vechs' CTM schematics toolkit?
6. Is the winners prize anything more than eternal glory for five minutes?
7. For people that can't attend this jam, should we make it be so there's another jam exactly like this one for them (including theme and time constraints) just at a different date so they can participate (this is more of a suggestion than a question)?
8. Is it considered cheating to look at another mapmaker streaming there own maps creation while you are making your own?
Also I think I've changed my mind, I'll probably participate in this (unless it's a theme that I have trouble doing or something from the likes of such).

1. Yeah, as long as it's not too big. Use your own judgment and common sense to determine what counts as "too big".
2. I think it's going to be in our own timezones? I guess we could have everyone say when they're starting and when they're done in this thread, and as long as the difference isn't greater than 72 hours it's okay...
3. Uh... I don't know. I'm inclined to say that that's okay, but other people may feel differently.
4. I think it's a minimum of 3 objectives per person working on the map. So, if you cooperate with another person, you need 6 objectives.
5. No. We'll take your word for it. Also Vechs' schematics are probably okay.
6. Pretty sure it's more than 5 minutes, but probably not.
7. I'd love this.
8. Hmm... As long as you don't copy anything that they're doing (whether you're copying it intentionally or not), it'll be fine, I think. Basically, make sure that if you watch them, you don't end up subconsciously copying their ideas. It's probably better not to watch, though.

So tasch pretty much got it right, but I'll still give a bit more of an official answer on this.
1. Yes
2. I was planning on having it be for each person's timezone, but then comes the issue of when I post the winning theme, and that some people in certain timezones might not have enough time to plan things out if I post it at midnight EST. I'll think a bit more about this, and we can keep discussing it if you want to.
3. No, I'd say that's too much of a head-start. Let's just say you should create the map save on the day the event starts. Any work before that is off-limits.
4. 3 objectives minimum, meaning you could have all three wools in one area but you'd probably get some flack for doing that.
5. No and yes.
6. No
7. I'm inclined to say no to this. If you want to participate unofficially, you can work on creating a similarly-sized and themed map in the week after the theme is announced, but that would mostly be for your own amusement.
8. No official cheating but I would frown upon it for sure. If you're watching someone else's stream, you're not working on your own map, meaning you could easily get a convenient idea or two from them. Listening to them in the background might be fine, or calling them on Skype even, but watching is a no-no.

So just one more question: I can do what Vechs did with Pigget Panic and timetoslide does with his own map series where you need to get mobs into the victory pen as a mini map if journey gets picked, right? As for the timezone thing, I think each of us should say around what EST time would fit him (for example: 8:00-22:00) for the announcements to be made, and then you can (@Drago) make the announcements at the time that seems best fitting for most of us. For me: 1:00-15:00 EST fits nicely.
Journey seems to be doing pretty well on the poll. I have mixed feelings: Good because it's the one I came up with, and bad because I still don't have an idea for it. :l
Alrighty, I've taken the top four themes from the previous poll and made a new poll for us to determine the final theme! Cast your votes here, the winning theme will be announced at midnight on March 20th!
I have to check the schedule of the guy who runs our server. The two of us might collaborate on a map. I was actually thinking of doing a little map-jam among friends when I searched the forum to see if there were any more official ones being hosted.
The timing of this jam is impeccable.
A quick question regarding how we share maps when we do our "finished" post: are there any particular file sharing sites we should use? I think I've downloaded most mods via AdFly, but I don't know if they're standard or if there's another service forum members would recommend.

Well, I can tell you right off the bat you haven't downloaded anything off adfly but viruses. Mediafire is the main service most of us use, although I and a few others prefer Fileswap, as it's cleaner and easier to use, with the downside of being a bit slower.
(Clarification: adfly is an ads service that allows content creators to make money off of their work by putting ads before a download link, so you really aren't downloading anything from it, just the file-sharing site behind it.)

Absolutely!
Fixed it now. :3
EDIT: Also apparently this is now 3 days so that'll make things easier on me

Ah. Thank you for uncrossing my wires, there. As you can probably tell, I'm a lot more experienced at playing MC than content creation for it.
