So what version of minecraft is your guys maps going to be for?
Well... The version of LiteLoader I use to run WE is on 1.7.2, so my current plan is to build it on that. So far as I know, we don't need anything off 1.7.4-5. And if we did I'd plan around it, because I'm *not* building this by hand.
I'm in charge of map layout for my team, but it's going to take both of us to build. This is an ambitious project, but if we can get it done in time I think it's going to look good. JIC, I'm doing a little bit of project-management noodling while I wait for midnight: figuring out what must be done first, what priority things are, etc. Worst case, we may come back and gussy it up after the jam and release a 2.0 version with whatever we can't get to. We'd also be able to take feedback we got afterwards and, you know, do something with it.
Regarding music: Honestly, I tend to listen to trance playlists if I have to concentrate, and most of those songs are so generic that memorizing a name is completely pointless. When I set up the command blocks, I'll probably be working with that. But when I'm doing the building and in the flow, I'll probably be listening to one of these two mixes:
EDIT: Sorry about accidentally posting the gigantic embedded videos for a moment there. I literally just now learned that you can post vids as https to stop it from doing that.
My first area. The Fleecy Box is the entrance to the first area.
STORY: You woke up in a forest and saw a fully completed Victory Monument. Your mind is confused. You do not know how you got there, or where you are. A voice in your head tells you 'Put the wool in the boxes'.
You walked the path leading out of the forest and onto the plains. There, you see a Fleecy Box standing in the open. As you reached in to place the wool in the box, you got sucked in...
So since i have done NO WORK on my entry! (i just woke up like an hour ago, and as for last night i actually like to sleep thankyouverymuch) I've decided to just reveal the name, as I know furshur what that is, and it'll give ya'll a hint at what i'm working on if you've seen the flash game by the same name.
So as I told Apollo on Skype, I figured out that by this point, I've only got about 10 hours to work on my entry. D: I've got work at 3 'til late tonight, then I'll be gone all day tomorrow between work and hanging out with a friend in the evening. Sundays are always up in the air, but chances are I won't be able to work on anything until 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
Because of all this, my entry will likely be much shorter and less polished than everyone else's. The area concepts I have, while not hugely ambitious, would have come out better if given a little more love and attention. I'm not gonna give up, just warning you guys ahead of time.
EDIT: Current progress: Area #1 aesthetically completed, Area #2 underway.
The latest snapshot.
Still in 1.7.2 because I'm too lazy to update bukkit or voxelsniper or worldedit or tmi, or pretty much anything.
This is my everything playlist. Hopefully click-person has spotify.
My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!
