Info
I look upon projects such as WesterosCraft in awe. Beautiful recreations of vivid landscapes, stunning attention to detail, and a dedicated force of designers, builders, administrators and programmers come together to remake beloved locations in a charming blocky medium.
I too wish to make such a world- the birth of Ivalice in Minecraft for all to enjoy. I have taken the first steps to bring it to life by using WorldPainter to create the foundation for Ivalice. More in pictures below. However, I cannot do this alone! I implore any Minecrafters that are available and interested to respond so we may build something amazing together.
Looking For
-WorldPainter Exporter
Ivalice is large. Approximately 26000 x 18000 blocks. My computer can handle designing it, but I cannot export or merge the map. Perhaps your computer has enough RAM to handle the job?
-WorldPainter
Talented with terra-forming? Got an eye for detail? Come along and help polish the landscape up before it's exported and actual building begins.
-Designers/ Builders (Interior/ Exterior)
If you like architecture and recreating based on available models, this position is for you. A large portion of the buildings to be made are viewable in-game (FF12) for reference, but some will be purely speculative. With that in mind, it is necessary that you be skilled. Building interiors, where accessible, must also be designed.
-Terraformers
Once Ivalice is exported and open for working on, a lot of the landscape will have to be fine-tuned by hand. Cliffs, mountains, beaches, canyons, oceans, etc.
-Programmers/ Modders
To bring Ivalice as close to reality as possible, we require custom mobs and weapons, as well as existing mod support to set up Ivalice for server use (think Bukkit). A tentative list of mods we need will be provided upon inquiry.
-Project Leaders
A leader for a specific area of development (building, terraforming, modding, etc.). You will be in charge of a possibly large group of people, so communication and observation is necessary!
-Server Hosting/ Support
Please contact me directly. I would like to set up a public server in the future and require some guidance (how and where to start, maintain, etc.).
-Website Hosting/ Design/ Support
Please contact me directly. Given the size of project, it would be helpful to have a website for members to congregate. Again, guidance required.
-Graphic Artist/ Media
Make a banner, a video, a sneak peek. Tell your friends! Spread the word. You are the project's microphone.
App. Process
Leave a post in this thread or contact me directly. Either is fine, but direct contacts will receive faster replies.

*Note! The gender field is not for discriminatory purposes. Rather, I don't want to mistakenly call you "bro" when you are in fact a girl It's happened before. I was embarrassed. That's all.
Quality Control
We value attention to detail, from a small misplaced block to a proportion that's not quite right. Because of the nature of Project Ivalice, anyone involved in manipulating blocks post-WP export must submit a design plan or receive permission for their intended changes. What does this mean?
- If you are an architect, please submit a detailed building plan and intended blocks to use.
- If you are an interior designer, please demonstrate your design.
- If you are a terra-former, please demonstrate your changes under supervision of a Project Leader.
And so on. Now, understandably, with so many people working together it will be impossible to get anything done if permission is constantly required, and conflicts may arise between different elements, such as terrain and building.
Guidelines
1. A degree of autonomy and self-discretion is granted to everyone to follow their judgment and make the best decision possible to minimize problems down the line. If you see a random floating block that's clearly out of place, for example, feel free to break it. If your assignment is small and unlikely to affect anything else, go ahead and build it. Don't be afraid to ask if you're not sure about something!
2. Project Leaders in relevant areas will have final say in cases of conflict. For example, a PL in Terraforming cannot exercise jurisdiction in matters of architecture, but a PL in Architecture can.
3. We would always like to avoid these conflicts, so please, communicate! If you are working in close proximity with another builder, talk to each other and work out any placement, height, etc., beforehand.
4. Before starting architectural builds, you are required to terraform the land to fit the building. For example, if a spire is to be built in a location on land that is flat in FF12 but hilly ingame, you must flatten out the area or request for it to be flattened to match FF12's appearance.
5. Any creations that do not adhere to the guidelines above are subject to be removed without notice.
* All project sites must be visibly marked to prevent accidental removal or damages! *

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Small bump! No one on all of Minecraft is interested? This is a great opportunity to be a part of something big!
As a small incentive, I include the following:
1. Those involved in the project will have their names forever recorded in libraries on the map. 2. In certain areas beyond the official territory, members will be permitted to build their own whatever. 3. I will review *your* maps and mods and what have you! 4. I'm pretty poor, but if you really insist, I could... pay you something for your help? 5. If and when the map is ever finished, official team members will have priority in logging on in order of seniority.
Oh my goodness, I really hope this project is still active! I am in love with FFXII and would love to be a builder in the project if it's still going. Here is an example of an FFXII build I made of the Tomb of Raithwall (in Hexxit): http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/the-tomb-of-raithwall-ffxii/
