Nope. This isn't looking good at all I'm making a new one as I get PS back I guess
I want to ask you guys a question about beta-testing though. I have no idea what to do with it. Tell me! For me, it's like this scary subject I keep telling me I can/can't do on my own and then skip to do more work...
When I finish a cave the results is always fantastic, but Terraforming everything is so boring.. Meh.
I tried the Dark Oak but I think spruce looks better.
Looks better now or still needs improvement?
Aha! I see what was bothering me last time that i didn't realize: The paths have no supports. They look very unnatural because of this, but if you just add either pillars going into the water or supports coming off the ceiling i think it'll look perfect
I need two things:
#1: The Id for the Oak Log with the texture on all sides
#2: Can someone help me with a name? I need a name for the area in the spoiler.
The area is based around Catacombs and Undead.
-snip-
I know someone already gave you named but i'll give dis a shot
The Screaming Deep
Hollow Necropolis
Last Repentance
Hold of Horrors
Shake, Rattle, and Bones (i had to, i'm so sorry for this name, but i had to)
The Blackening Passages

As a person that tests a lot of stuff on my own, I can say that it is not as scary as it seems, actually, often it's a pleasant experience.
Play through your map, see what kind of resources you get and how difficult it is to play with them. If you think that something is too hard or too easy - fix it until you are satisfied. That's pretty much it. I would also recommend you keeping a notepad open, so if you find any stuff that you might want to fix, you can just write yourself a quick reminder for later. After a little bit of practice, you will start to "feel" when the area is rightly balanced, then this process gets more laid-back.
About beta-testing with other people - I honestly think that it's the last stage that you should do, it's mostly to check for loopholes and small details. Doing the testing alone is a lot more convenient at the beginning because you might need to go through the same area 2 or even 3 times, and besides, who is going to feel the map better at that stage than the mapmaker himself?
Wow, another wall of text, okay. I really should go get some sleep.
Erm. Try make the shapes either stand more apart like they are floating, or give them support beams. Maybe light up the path as a focus point. The idea is ok, but the way it's worked out creates just a mess.
That's not a wall of text imho. But oh well.
Of course i'm always testing myself. The loot chests aren't placed yet, but I know what basic gear is going to be everywhere. I'm just wondering if I really need to test with other people, since I'm scared of doing so. And yet, I design around gameplay, and try to incorporate other playstyles. While testing, I still feel my hit-and-run playstyle all day though, even if I try not to.
I mean, it's basically a whole bunch of stone half-slab octahedrons with lava in them.
Seems a little plain. Nothing really seems to stand out. It definitely seems impressive, but only because of its size; knowing your way around McEdit/Worldedit means you know how basic it really is.
Hey there. Chiefwiggy here. Some of you guys might still remember me from when I quit mapping... Now, I need a favor from someone. I honestly want to get back into mapping. I have so many fresh new ideas, and there are people who are Let's playing my maps, giving me inspirations to want to map again... but I have a problem... I can't get mods working for 1.7 I currently need the following two mods in order to map:
- All-U-Want Inventory Editor
- Single Player Commands (With World edit)
If there is anyone who could assist me in any way vis-à-vis getting these mods installed for 1.7, that would be much appreciated. Either respond to this, or Private message me if you can help. Thanks
- Sincerely, Chiefwiggy
P.S I would love if these mods worked on the same jar, so I wouldn't have to alternate.

WorldEditWrapper is what you want for SPC. All-U-Want Inventory Editor appears to be in varying stages of completion; honestly I've never used that mod so I can't give you pointers about the installation. Although, I do believe that WorldEditWrapper can work alongside Forge, so if you want to install that first and then work on All-U-Want from there, you should be good.

So wait... is World Edit Wrapper to be used in lieu of Single Player Commands, or to be used simultaneously? And Yeah, I've gotten All-U want working... but never with any other mods installed. (Also thanks for your help)

In lieu. You will be missing a few features that SPC had, (noclip is the biggest one that has hurt me,) but that's the sacrifice you'll have to make if you want to be mapping in 1.7.2.

Ok. Thanks. One more question... so what exactly would be the difference from mapping in version 1.7.9 versus mapping in 1.7.2? Are there any significant differences from mapping in either version? It seems more mods tend to be orientated towards 1.7.2-1.7.4, yet when I've dabbled in the versions (I say this because I just started playing recently), I haven't noticed much difference. Is there a specific version I should map in?
So... I just got this mod working... but there's one problem... I can't bind keys ζ_ζ Recommend any good key binding mods anyone?

@First question, I'm really not sure how much of a difference there is. I've been sticking with the 1.7.2 Lite Loader profile whenever I play on multiplayer, and I'm assuming at least a few of the servers I frequent have updated to 1.7.9. Really I'd just stick with 1.7.2.
And actually, the same guy who made WorldEditWrapper also released a Keybinding mod, though I'm not sure how well it works; I recall having difficulties getting it set up.

Do you even know who you're talking to?
But seriously, the screenshot. It looks okay, but I'm really not a fan of the flat wall visible on the left.

It lacks lava. It seriously needs more lava. Maybe replace every block in that room–with lava That would work
