Also, custom resource pack confirmed for the map. It will have custom music and stuff, so the areas will be very unique.must... correct... qualification... of... unique...
Hmm. I know that a lot of people probably won't bother with the resource pack if it's optional... so will it be? Or are you going to make it required, to discourage people from not using the pack? 'Cause I think one good way to get less attention is to require a resource pack.
Y'know, this really warrants a larger discussion.
Community question:
(we haven't had one in a while, right?)
What are your opinions on the use of custom resource packs in CTM maps? Should they be required if they exist? Why does it seem like people are less interested in your map if you use a resource pack?

Oh boy this was a pain to build, and what purpose is it gonna serve? @#!*% , if I knew, I'd be a happy man...
-snip panda-
The time you waste in Minecraft to make things that serve no purpose..... Heck, I don't even know what it's supposed to look like
edit: guess it kinda looks like a leaf
that looks awesome!
I suggest using it as a backdrop to a temple of some sort (picture that thing on top of/inside of a mountain with the temple at the foot of the mountain)

I am huge on Texture Packs! I'm making full use of the Johnsmith pack, and expect players to use it, as it really makes everything in the map pop wonderfully I think, with the ease of use involving Texture Packs now especially, it's quite worth using if you think it improves your map!

I agree with you there. I think texture packs add something to maps that makes them feel more special, unique.
It's hard to find the right one though. I've found a futuristic pack that looks simply a-ma-zing. It has a couple of blocks that I want to change and customize though. Now that's nice and all, but it's only for personal use. I'd love to make a map and have a nice texture pack that fits the atmosphere. I've stumbled upon a few, but all of them are either incomplete or only have certain blocks that I like, which leaves me thinking what the hell I can do. Not much, that's the answer. I'd make my own.. but you know.. my art skills are.. lacking.

Mixing-and-matching never hurts either
And if you can find someone to help ya out, deffo worth it!
I think there is an error in the OP. At the top of the second OP it says that my "Animosity" has 0 reviews, but right below it, in the reviews sections, there is one by Sketch. :/

This map...wow. Ok first off let me say it impresses me that Com was able to keep a snow theme interesting through three intersections (well, it felt a bit repetitive towards the end of I3 but more on that later) Snow themed maps are very rare, and when i've seen them before they were usually lack-luster. But Com not only pulls it off, but he makes it wonderful! This map had be playing hours on end, loving (almost) every second of it. The gameplay is solid through almost the entire map, and the loot is very well balanced. Another great feature is the numbered area system, which lables each area of an intersection by how hard it is. Now that's the good, onto the bad unfortunately. Some of the I1 areas honestly feel a bit two easy, and while they're unique looking the aesthetics got a bit bland. Aesthetics got worse with I2, before picking up a little in I3 and peaking at I4. The ice theme began to feel a bit repetitive by the end of I3, but that got fixed by the theme switching to fire for I4. Finally, the red and black wools were somewhat unbalanced. Not terribly so (though in the old version i hear the black wool was terrible) but it was enough to notice. However in spite of these facts, this map manages to be pretty darn awesome-sauce! I give it a Teal rating for sure! Its a "cool" map. (ha. ha. ha. ok i'll show myself out now)

Well, that makes it two questions, but what do you guys think of loot kits in lore-heavy maps? Like Stone Tools and Food - Low for example.
?
A: No.
B: It depends how the lore is delivered. If the mapmaker does this through hints instead of stuff like "journal entry 1: everything summarized," then I feel like it's OK-the world and the story are separated. When it's instead hinted in smaller sections, the world and story are mixed, and stuff like "stone tools low" ruins that immersion.

Sorry for that, didn't know, that one already existed, fixed it now!
Just finished making the terrain for this area. What do you guys think about these:
They'd look better without the speed effect, but nontheless its pretty good!
Some erosion in a few places maybe, but otherwise i really like this! Mainly because its unconventional, something i've never seen before, but it still seems to work.
In my book, that's ALL the time. WASTE ALL THE TIME!
