I agree with you on this statement that you shouldn't have been given the infraction.
However, people have left this thread many times, leaving similar, if not less critical, messages. I've lurked far longer than you might think. Longer than healthy, anyway.
Some people don't know the difference between "common" and "ever happened ever". Just stating this for the record.
Hey there, all. I stream CTMs as well as other indie games, Minecraft servers and probably that's it. I'm your supreme overlord too so I command you to CHECK ME OUT: www.twitch.tv/techniclepanther
I have never been accepted here. Yelled at for bad reviews, made fun of, etc. and this community has turned into something I don't like. No one here even knows me, but if you do, goodbye. Minecraft has gotten boring, and it's time to move on. I'm still going to play maps and maybe finish up my mini-map, but otherwise, I'm done. I don't like this community anymore.
-Bnm(Contact me on Skype at dabnm70 if you want to reach me, I'll still be there)
EDIT: Not trying to be rude. Just don't think I fit in this community. It used to be encouraging, and fun, but now we have useless conversations, and when one posts a screenshot, it's all that spams the next few pages. I don't know what offended you, Drago, but if I did, I just meant to say people were not welcoming to me, and this just isn't the kind of community I feel like I want to be in.
Cya later bnm, we still have to play a ctm though on your server, we still haven't done that.

Most of the people on the thread who left posted something like this. As far as the ratio of people leaving/amount of similar posts, it's pretty normal. (MATH TIME?!)

@Bnm To be honest when I joined this community I was a fairly disliked member, if you remember back to when I joined I was obnoxious and was very unaware to the rules of the thread. As time went on more and more people started gaining respect for me. Honestly from your message it seemed like you want respect and you need to earn this.
1.7 came out with a bunch of new features.
With every update, I get new ideas for areas and I usually remake a bunch of stuff.
I could've finished a lot of stuff long ago, but I always feel obliged to include new things.
This is probably also a reason maps take longer to make (more blocks/mechanics to use).
Weird though, some maps from 1.2.5 are still fun to play, yet they are simpler than the most recent ones
Community question:
Do you feel the need to update your map(s) with every minecraft update?
Thank you, Zen Master Subject Changer.
Now, I haven't made any maps myself, but I can see how people would think like this. Definitely is my final answer.

Having made one map that I updated a few times, I didn't update for updates. I updated for problems I saw, then fixed for the updates. When I stopped caring, I stopped updating.
So I will update with the new version updates, but not for the updates.
Did those semantics make sense?
Ok guys, I know it's been a long time, but I've finally decided to release my first map in the D00MLANDS series, Apocalypse Ow. Sine the closed beta testing went on, I gave the terrain a bit of a makeover and gave a few areas an overhaul to make them look nicer. It's compatible with MC 1.5, but I did update the boss mob spawners to have extra health in 1.6+. Honestly, I agree with the above posters about mapmaking being frustrating. All through the snapshots you have so many great ideas, but then you have to wait until your mods are ready before you can really do anything with them. :/
I'm going to tread very lightly here because it seems like no matter what I say nowadays, either one person gets offended and makes me feel bad, or I don't put enough thought into what I say and everyone gets offended. And then I still feel bad.
I'm sorry for what I said on the last page in response to Bnm. I was simply trying to express frustration in how he handled his departure, as it reminded me a lot of how I've left communities in the past (dramatically), and got bitten by it later. I largely agree with what Krose said; seems like people other than myself are much better at expressing my opinions than I am. :S
Hopefully none of you hate me now (tbh I doubt it, I've said waaaaaaay crazier things in the past. )
Community question:

I'll update my map to a new version of MC when I feel either A. there's a new feature that would add to the map, or B. something was severely imbalanced by the update. I don't see much reason to update DsI with new 1.7 features, though I may use some of the new blocks in areas in DsD (likely not DsF though).
So! With the now official completion of my pink wool area, Splinterstone Mines, i have posted a developer update thing surmising the whole thing and showing off all the screenies i've been posting here on this thread. You may find it myah!
Guys, I'm going to have a closed alpha for my map. It's going to be playable in 1 week, given the speed of loot-filling, structure-building, and mob-making. Message me if you are willing to:
1: Give me good feedback after at least trying to play my map
That's it. Message me, I'll put you into a group chat, then give everybody there progress updates (at least 1x/2days) until I get a playable version up.

Why do you feel the need to sugar coat
If you can't take someone being offended by your opinion then you're a big pansy

Also, a question for everyone: Am I the only Australian on this thread?
I remember the first time I came here when I was asking for help on how to make a tower....I never did make that tower any good but finally I have build a thing! http://imgur.com/a/XWrgo I am planning on making that island a super epic thing. Maybe just maybe I actually can build good. Oh but now the problem is how do I make a proper way up. I guess I will just use command blocks. Oh and if anyone would make any comments on my thing that would be amazingly awesome.
I disagree hugely. If we're being a terrible community to be a part of, and unwelcoming, we need to be aware of it, so we can actively try to change that.
People are who they are if the community is not enjoyable for one person that is because some people are doing something 90% of the time if the community did not know of it, it is not something they can fix. Like he said people did not like his reviews if they don't how would you fix that.
on a different note the only time I have left a thread was the time I left the vechs thread. I was on there for a while than after I got annoyed because I said something stupid and only realized after wards that it was stupid than I got into a huge argument and than after all that I realized that that whole forum was a waste of time with nothing happening there except when vechs posts a map. So on page 3000 I left after telling them that. Also as a funny side note, I did pop here one time here before and had a bad experience (I think that was my fault) so I got the impression that this thread was stupid and the people here were stupid but after mentioning this to someone on the vechs thread right before I left something they said made me come back and re-check it out and to my suprise I was wrong and this thread was exactly what I wanted.
So, I've gotten an infraction for my previous post. *sigh*
-snip-
I know what you mean I have had my post removed for really stupid reasons before (and I mean they were stupid not me "I" am never stupid) Well it was me once but not the other time.
Yeah I kinda agree with you but I feel they are more right but still I don't think you should of gotten an infraction for that.

Community question:

Just make sure you do not add too many things at once or you might end up making a giant clusraf*** an area or a segment of an area should only really ever have a few themes and what I mean by "Themes" is like what an area does if you have an area where you just through to many different things at a player at once it just seems really odd and overwhelming. and on to the question. Some older maps do not have all the new things but still have done each thing they intended to right and made it flow really well making it challenging but not overwhelming is a really hard thing to do that not many maps do now or in the past. So I would say if your map is good enough for anyone to care about if it gets updated or not. Just update it if either A) Something new breaks it or makes it almost unplayable to unplayable or If something comes out that would greatly benefit your area / map.
Hi, everybody. I ask to estimate my CTM map only white wool.
Name: Drizzledrip Woods, thanks the Sketch for a name.
There does not seem to be much of a clear path I could see people getting lost in here. Though that could be intended. I would advise making sure to add some random extra loot scattered about just not too much. (Don't be like IM) Also ghasts in an area made of wood? screw all the people in hard difficulty.

@ComQuestion: I personally plan to update Septum Immoriel when it is needed. If an update makes it easier for something to be done, I'll happily rework it, for example. The new aesthetic options in 1.7 will also ne a great value, and I plan to make full use of the. Throughout the map as well.
