Ok let me explain my no adfence hatred to pantheon. Lets look at it as sport cottges. If u put a bunch of them together to run one team, There ego's get in the way and its not a feel oiled unit because they all have differnt opinions. Its the same way, you have 16 top notch map makers making 1 area each, a few IE vechs gave it to u, never played the map and never edited his area at all after. You made a map where they all made a area but the map has no unisin. I know u just mcedited the areas together but thats exactly what it feels like, 16 differnt maps. You know how people dont like to play a bunch of maps at once ? well its the same way, it feels like a bunch of maps. As well the map is very very laggy and alot of lowend computers will not take it which doesn't bother me but on there behalf i must say that any map that has that problem has major problems IE VECHS FIX UR CRAP INFERNO MINES, if u want a rant on inferno mines let me know. Ur map is beautiful but is so hard its not fun. I beat it to prove a point that nothing is unbeatable without dying. I didn't die but well playing i literally fell asleep three times one day, and four times the other well playing because i was damn bored. When one maker, makes a map its there areas, there theme and there work. But this is to many themes, Its like reading harry potter, star wars, indiana jones, twlight, hunger games and the hobbit at once in the same book. All amazing besides twlight but together would be . Same thing . I apolgize because reading this over this is not clear, If u wish we can talk on skype about this in a call where its more easier to explain myself tomorrow if wanted because i have alot more to say and right now i must leave. Ill explain more for you but in general, Just to many themes. Sorrry fangride

Okay, no offence to your grammar, but let's look at your grammar as a bunch of kids in elementary school writing a report. They would get a lot right, but they would still miss certain mistakes. It's like reading several levels of grammar, from slightly good to terrible. All of them are bad except for the slightly good grammar, and when you read them all together, it just makes a huge mess. Not only that, but they might go around with topics. At one minute they'll talk about a book, the next an author. Just too many degrees of bad grammar.
My apologies, TAOHHH.

That's your problem. The map is not supposed to really flow together in terms of themes, but if you see each individual area like a minimap (which is something we discovered in compiling) then you'd have a greater time with it. Project 2 has a fluider theme going along with it, and all our mistakes from Pantheon are being fixed there.

What?
Your standards are impossibly high. Get out.
I guess it would be too overcharged to already ask who takes part in project 2?

Bad? How? The map I'm almost done with was actually mostly planned before actually being made. There's only 2 or 3 ideas for areas I included that weren't already thought out. Although, it wasn't the areas themselves, just the general idea. It worked pretty well, as I was able to get through areas without having to do much thinking.

well I never plan any of my areas. I just say to myself: lets make an area. Then I go into mcedit and look at all the blocks, suddenly: BOOM and you know what you want to build. I prefer not to plan anything, at the end it mostly won't turn out as
you like

Not in the slightest. I've done it utterly meticulously! Each and every area of the map is named and has some sort of at least basic premise prepared for it.
On me basically saying that all of my first map's mistakes would be fixed in a sequel/remake, you said:
"This irks me to no end. Vinyl Fantasy was three_two's first map, Uncharted Territory was Amlup's first map, etc. This statement is barely applicable in CTM anymore." - here.
>.>
Anyway, I agree with both parties. There are no consistencies in Pantheon that I feel would make it a great map. Then again, it had no strict theme, and it was their first time working together. The areas were just made, because the lack of experience/knowledge/expectation didn't mean a theme was considered. Or that's what I - wrongly, probably - assume, anyway.
But I really admire everyone still working on Pantheon for continuously trying to make it better. Messing with someone else's areas can't be easy.
It's a pain to work with other's areas. I try so hard to keep their theme going, so it becomes difficult to keep going. Furthermore, bugfixes is very difficult, though thankfully I've found I'm good at working with other's redstone.
I've actually done some work to thread both an overarching story in and start to use some similar builds and themes throughout the map to at least make it feel similar, slightly, but yes, that was a problem with the original. It was "Make an area and drop it off".
With CTM2 we're doing a lot to retain a consistent feel that threads the map together and rewards revisiting previous areas, if I'm not saying too much here. I expect once we're 'done' we'll also go through and tweak stuff to make it feel even more 'similar'.
Anyone who doesn't care to listen to my point im fine with, First, Idc if you dont like my grammar its where im from and thats ur problem. I have an opinon and it was asked what it was, the map has to many themes or no themes depends how you look at it, I can explain in a video if you want a good description of my feeling, I could also get a few others to talk about it because i know a few people who have opinons and aren't affraid to be bombared about it
Back on the phone, so I won't mess with quoting here!
-About lack of theme - it's certainly true, but I couldn't say it ruins the whole map. I would say it needs more story and background which is something I plan on having done for the full release that should hopefully thread the whole map together. Titan's Revolt is a direct sequel in both story and premise, as well, and is very much avoiding much of the mistakes made with Pantheon. Hybran and I discuss this stuff regularly to try and stay as organized as possible. Right now I feel the only thing missing from the Pantheon experience is the overall story, which is only hinted at right now. The biggest hinting at the story right now is in the piece I wrote on the thread. Hybran's statement of treating each area like a mini map is correct, because story wise, they are. I'll explain that further later.
-And thanks Skeeto I really quite like that image!
Damn, now if I ever get round to finishing my map Alana's Revolt it'll seem like I'm copying you guys! hmph.
xD Sounds good, though, Fang! I look forward to seeing how it pans out - Pantheon certainly must have been a great experience for everyone, and you can all take a lot from it. Even I have been inspired a lot by some of the areas. I only wish I'd enjoyed playing it more :/
We're going for the Greek theme, so I think you're okay Let's just say this time around, the areas aren't made by beings trying to kill you, instead, they're prisons...
I feel ya. Once I finish mah map and alpha test it, I plan to play and catch up on a lot of CTMs that I've missed.
