So yeah, i just have to ask you guys this i guess.
Maybe some of you guys remember making your first map, or are in the process of doing so. I am trying to get up my first map, but while building and learning new techniques, I just want to go back to other areas and totally redo them. I have 9 areas done, and I feel like 5 of them should be totally revamped, and 2 of them could be done a bit better. So what should i do? Finish this map first and make it a "learning-to-map" map? Make it some test world? Or just start a fresh map, with lore, good aesthetics in the beginning, better loot distribution, stuff like that.
Would love some feedback!
I would advise just to keep at it finish the map to the point you are happy with if you do not like a lot of the areas fix them or re make them than have some people play it. It might be really bad but once you get some advice from others on what you did wrong and what you did right you can update the map and also learn what to do and what not to do in your next map.
I got a question. With the new changes to mc I am wondering is it possible to make a device that goes off after you complete the monument? I have always felt that there was a void at the end of every CTM map where you place the final block on the monument and nothing happens it feels like you collected all of the pieces of the Triforce only to find out Ganon is already dead. I have always felt like there should be something that happens when you place that final block on maybe a (good) boss fight or maybe just a firework show or maybe a credits roller coaster but something! So is it possible to do this. Well I am pretty sure it is possible but is it possible to do only when the correct blocks are placed in the correct spots so it can only be triggered by the correct blocks.
WELL!?

just started wild charge, like the map so far but I died in a really stupid way so I think I might restart... I guess I do already have two wools......
WHY!! did you use knockback resistant mobs!
_Krose_ No!
_Krose_ Why?
wow a page get? have not got one of these since I stopped trying to get them.
Of course you have to change the coordinates to where your wool is placed and the data value to 0-15 depending on which wool you want to detect.
As a bonus this monument also lights up a lamp, telling you which wools have been correctly placed.
If you want to do something when all blocks are correctly placed, just take the output from the torch at the back. It is just all the commandblock outputs ANDed together.
Of course this could be greatly improved, but as said, proof of concept.
Well cool. I hope someone will put this into use. I still remember when i first finished sea of flames and thought "That's it?"
So I have been playing "Wild charge" and at first I was liking it but from the magenta wool on I really just did not like it and I almost rage quited after getting the 4th wool but I decided I will at least finish it so I can do a proper review. Actually I have to thank you although I really did not like the map I have been struggling making a review for UT3 which is so close to flawless there is not much to say other than it's good so playing a map with rather easily notable flaws is a nice change. once I get re geared and finish the map I will do a full review over it but I am starting to think that I just don't like mini maps.
Oh and a questions for the public, What is your favorite CTM map? (I am looking for really good CTM maps to play) Also if you use resource / texture packs what is your favorite one?
I really wish positional data in command blocks included dimensions. With the new command block changes I could actually use other dimensions in my map if they did. It would also help to have super-flat settings available for the nether and end, of course, but I can just generate and then delete a massive area in the nether and it does the same thing. And with the end being finite you can technically select and delete all of it.
The highly technical griping of someone trying to make an awesome map. Pay me no mind. :-3

Thank you! looks cool I am definitely gonna go play that. oh and I might even go replay Kaizo caverns in the newer versions and see how it works. Love doing that with old maps. (I felt it was necessary)
I've been working on map - Horribly horribly alone. And off my pills.
That and finding a girlfriend, breaking up, playing lots of D&D, an other fun things. But it's more fun to play up how crazy I am when Ive been working on my map for a few hours. "Manic Depression - A Lö̝̻̯̬̤̉̋ͥ̆̔͒͘͘͢ve Stor̊̆ͥ̊͏̸͉͓y" Isn't going to make itself after all - and with people being able to click their answer to questions in chat after this next snapshot I have a lot of buttons to get rid of and command blocks to redo. :-3

The only problem I see is that if someone logs out then they lose the button as the chat gets cleared. :/
That is pretty insightful. I will have to connect the command blocks to a proximity detector that goes off once each time the player approaches. That way if they log off and log back in the worst that will happen is they have to walk away and come back.
I'm already using summoned blocks to store answers so that no one will be able to spam yes to get 50 quest rewards. I can also use the summoned block to have the option stop popping up when the player gets near after they have answered.
Made a little contraption that could be used with Monuments that can be used to light up indicator lights, rewards the player for furthering monument progress and allow you to detect when the whole monument is complete.

So, em, guys. I made this area as the new starting area of Starbound. (My upcoming map.)
It's called Solitary Beginnings.
What do you think?
looks alright. I like the rocks that stick out of the ground but one question where is the player going?
