Anyone have success creating skeletons with custom arrows? i tried making one with a custom arrow in its offhand, and the custom arrow looks like a purple/black box, and its arrows to not apply the debuff they are meant to.

Command generator i found online must not be too reliable. I guess i'll just try and search for a mcedit filter that is still compatible with the current version of minecraft, or maybe try fixing the command myself.
Sorry, I've been kind of slacking off on the main thread. What map to put as a map of the month? Anything interesting? Anything eye catching? Or great Strawberry Jam highlight?
Also @DrBrianLorgon111, should I submit the review? We usually submit only reviews of finished playtroughs of a map and this review was done halfway trough the map. It felt like a sort of advertisment more than review but if you want I can add it. Maybe you!d like to update it after finishing your playtrough?

I am almost done with the map, so if you prefer I can submit again after I'm done.
Alright, so I know every attempt at this since pantheon has died, but I'd like to suggest this anyway:
I've recently been making a few areas for a map, but as much as I'd like to, I don't think I'll ever have the time to finish a high-quality map single-handedly. A while ago I was part of a collab-map attempt which has pretty much died out, but I'm still interested in working on something with a group. If people are interested then please let me know and I can make a group chat to discuss ideas. Also I'll mention that you don't necessarily need to build something new, if you have an old area you've never used then we may be able to put it to use here!
Interested as well.

I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.
I haven't been doing much CTM mapping lately but here are my more recent creations. Most are pretty WIP, but some feedback would still be awesome.
Woah 1k posts. I haven't been active here very much lately, but I'm hoping to be active here more as a I build more stuff. Building is really fun.
If anyone with a solid understanding of new mapmaking features (NBT stuff, complex redstone, custom spawners, command blocks) wants to possibly form a partnership, a sort of "I build the levels, you add cool features" deal, then PM me asap, I'd be really interested.
There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.

Those Ice type structures look amazing however the brimstone quarry is a bit of a mess when it comes to color. I'd try cleaning that up a bit as it just looks repulsive.

I actually really like the above shot of the Quarry, but the deep down part in the last image seems a bit too much. I see blue and stuff down there which seems out of place. The Reds, Blacks, Greens, and Whites seem really well put together though.
On another note, do you think there is room in the genre for a map without command blocks? I'm semi-planing a ctm, but i'm not good with that kind of stuff. It also won't be the best quality since it will be my first map.
Also, what do you guys think of themed open world maps? A bunch of people were telling me they disliked those maps because the areas aren't as varied. And open world seems hard to balance as you could just go to the last area and get diamonds of something. It would be difficult but you could bridge or tunnel or something.
My favorite maps are sea of flame 2 and nightmare realm, so i kindaa want to make something inspired by them since there is nothing really like them in modern map making.
Hmmm, what about doing something like tera restore 2, where i use teleports to get to the areas and you can only go through one of the teleports for the next 3 dungeons to prevent sequence braking?

I would try to get the feel for command blocks. If you can get even just somewhat familiar with them it opens up the door for a lot more interesting mechanics that can help make your map different. Just try to make sure you stick on the side of useful mechanics and less on the side of gimmicks for the sake of having command blocks.
As far as open world maps go, I think it would be tough to do as a newer mapmaker. Balancing something like that would be much more difficult. I also think that having teleporters would go against the feel of an open world map as well. What I would recommend if you wanted to do one is to do it but not have it be a full 16 objective map. If you keep it small enough to be manageable you can get a better hang of balancing maps and keep each area fresh. And also since its your first map keeping it small will make it more likely that you finish it. A big part of getting better is actually releasing things so you can get feedback, and a lot of people who try to take on a full CTM for their first map will run into issues completing it, or find that their skills increase and they have to keep going back and redoing areas. If you do a 6 wool map or something like that you can get it done, learn the lessons from it, and then have your first full map be much more solid.
I can rest easy now that this community is dead.

Nah, CTM is dead. CTM reviews are now useless right?
Hello CTM Community. <3
I'm interested. Although I don't know how our stuff would fit as I'm working on an open-world map.
I am almost done with the map, so if you prefer I can submit again after I'm done.
That would be excellent, more reviews around here are always appreciated
Interested as well.

Do people really think ctms are dying. Vechs AND Amlup are both currently working on maps. How is it dead?

I'd be surprised if people did. The community is super active, just not always on these forums, and new projects are constantly in the works.
