Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on the areas! I have made the first pic's area less flashy. I have made the pyramid area more interesting. I am going to redo the entire tower on top of the floating island and add vines to the island. And lastly, I have made the last pic's area less weird.
Alright, I want everyone's help. I just want to know your opinion about the aesthetics of these areas:
*Snip*
I want to start off by saying these are pretty bland pictures not going to lie to you. I have no clue how the gameplay of these would play out but they definitely aren't aesthetically good. The first picture is the best of the 4 but I would remove the redstone blocks. Other than that its a nice concept just poorly executed. The second picture I can barely see anything thats going on besides a pyramid and lots of flat sandstone. Very bland and definitely not creative in the slightest. The 3rd picture is boring and flat and not creative. It looks like the first thing I built on minecraft when I was 9 years old. The 4th picture hurts my eyes because there is way too much contrast. Also a sea of lava made uncreatively and uninteresting like sea of flame's like cmon man. Also the brush strokes are very noticeable and the ore deposits look out of place. The discs on the left side I don't even want to hear about. Sorry if I'm being harsh but this is how people were to me when I posted my first screenie and I've learned a lot over the past month. My block variation was bad too just trying to help it be a better product overall.
Woaw, this thread is sooooo prolific this weekend!
But that's actually great
Great pics to all guys, but @Ty_Plays_Minecraft : the redstone_block screen shot is wayyyy to red :/
Anyway,
I just started working today on an upcoming open worlds mini-CTM series: Zaka Realms.
Here's a peek at the spawn area (the Upper-Base Camp) of the first map. It's extremely WIP, but the b. variation is pretty much set: grass/dirt (80%), sand and mossy cobble with sandstone and gravel/cobble here and there on some hills, cliffs and valleys.
All is happening in a Jungle theme world "filled" with ancient ruins to discover.

Don't worry world, I made that area less blindingly red. Your eyes have been saved.
And NBTrainor, you could have just said that the areas were bland and stuff, but did you really need to include that you can make stuff like mine when you were only nine years old? That was completely unnecessary considering that I'm just not very creative. That's why I wanted some help on the aesthetics of my map. You don't need to judge me, okay. Thanks for the criticism anyways. I am making each area better when possible.
Yo, anyone around that worked on I Saw a Zombie Eating Santa Claus? I had a funny idea to reuse part of it, and want to check with some of the other builders to ensure nobody would mind (with full credit, as usual!)
This is going to be great. I'm hoping this leads to new mobs or new buffs for current mobs to balance the powere of these arrows. Can you imagine vanilla mobs versus a power V bow with explosive arrows? RIP.

Yeah, I'm really excited to see all the crazy changes.
Thousand of arrows, still one type of a bow. Stay classy mojang.
There's really not a lot of difference in bows in real life. You have a long bow which is basically the minecraft bow. A re-curve bow which allows the same amount of power as a long bow but in a more compact size. A compound bow or modern bow which is a re-curve bow with mechanical features that add a slight power increase and usability. A crossbow which which may offer slightly more power with considerably longer reload time and no self-respecting hunter / archer would ever use.
Really, the only thing that would make sense in minecraft are new bow enchantments. Definitely some interesting possibilities there.

Agreed. Making another type of bow would be unnecessary.
Is the joint account still active? it seriously needs a cleanup of the review list... i swear 1/3 of those maps don't even exist for download anymore.
It's based on something that was joked about in a livestream I had a while ago, they're called Sprungle Trees, half Spruce, half Jungle, Sprungle.
Special thanks to Axl Rosie for the sig.
That would be Aimoskeeto.
was she ever a mod?.. welp sorry for the confusion
@down
really she? i spent so much time in this community back then but really i don't know anything
She was at one point. She also created a couple maps , like Rugged Horizons.

HI, folks.
Just made my thread, so you might be interested ( http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/maps/2419694-c-t-m-coolmanik-tough-maps-ctm-series-by-coolmanik )
Btw, can you give me some feedback of these two areas? They are going to be a part of my Mini CTM, focused on ender-pearling.
Thanks!

I like that he used the unused quiver texture though
