I'm ALMOST finished with my adventure map, and I wanted it to have mobs in it, so I decided to turn off mobspawning and try to use the eggs to spawn them. It seemed to work fine, but when I went back later and checked, all the mobs were gone. Is it possible to do this, or am I just stuck putting mob spawning back on?
Mobs disappear anyway if you go too far away from the point you spawned them (This is my experience.). I work with dispencers, that spawn the mobs, after stepping on a pressuer plate.
I was considering that, but I think I'm just going to use some mob spawners behind the wall. Hopefully there'll be an option for this in the future.
Thanks for your help
when you log out the mobs despawn i was making an adventure map and it did the same for me to fix you can use spawners or command blocks to sense the player so when they come close a dispenser spawns the mob that you wanted or make a hyper spawner thing they hit a button it turns on the dispenser and a presure plate in front of that and when 1 mob spawns it spawns on the pressure plate making another mob spawn so it keeps spawning them good luck!!!
Mobs will despawn after spawned with eggs like they normally do.
There is an MCedit filter called something like "persistantMobs" or something.
Anyways, get MCedit and highlight your entities and run that filter, that way no matter
what happens, your mobs will not despawn.
This only works on pre spawned entities, but if you make spawner (another filter can make spawners out of
mobs) out of the persistant entities, you should have persistant mobs coming out of the spawner.
I started this thread last year in August guys Thanks for the help though. I found the Persistence Mobs filter a few days ago, and I'm not currently working on the map I talked about above (it's in my signature now )
My newest issue is lag from custom mob spawners everything's an issue for me.
