No...it's stumping me. I've playtested them and I've gone beyond where you both say the problem arises. I did every quest in East Daruma. Even when I loaded your save, I didn't have the issue.
My only thought is...java versions?
One last experiment though, try taking out nashorn.jar from the mods folder. That will cause the scripts to stop running. Maybe my beginner scripting is causing a performance issue or something.
So I tried taking out nashorn.jar and it still failed almost immediately after I got to ZA. (after doing everything in East Daruma again)
On a different note, I noticed when talking to the guy that the mayor wants you to kill, if you ask about the Dinheiro Incrivel, when he tries to tell you that it's a "fairy tale" he says "fairy tail" instead. Obviously not very important but I just felt like mentioning it.

Not sure why Java would be the problem, I am using Java 8, nothing newer is compatible with Minecraft. did you just use my save with your install or did you run my save with my install? I linked you to my whole Daruma install not just the save, I was thinking that it might be a problem with the whole install and not just the save, all though come to think about it I am not sure that is the problem either because Fang tried from a whole new install and still had the problem, but maybe its something that went wrong with our installs. I will try removing nashorn.jar and running the game and see what happens.

This is before I added the ability to resurrect bosses, which is the update I released right as I got started getting reports of this issue.
Sorry about this bug guys. :C
So I tried both things and neither worked.
I'm wondering now if it might be a cpu problem rather than a bug, I don't know what kind of computer LadyGrelka uses but I'm using an old laptop meant more for office work than gaming. (I can post specs if that helps)
I just assumed it was a bug because it doesn't make sense to me that the game would become more cpu intensive as I progressed, but it may be possible that it does.

I built my desktop specifically to be able to handle hardware intense games, even on lower vid settings. My possessor, RAM and video card are more then enough to run game like ARK and 7 Days to Die with the graphics turned up to between high and medium, I can even run the heavy more PC intense Minecraft modpacks so I really can't see the problem being any of my hardware.
Intel Pentium CPU G4500 3.50GHz
16gigs of RAM
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
and I am running Linux POP OS. I will say that I am surprised that Daruma uses about 88% of my CPU, but that should not cause a problem.

Well so much for that theory.
I wish I could help more but I'm out of ideas, I hope this gets fixed because it looks amazing and I want to play more of it.

I really wish I could fix it.
I haven't stopped trying, but it's really demotivating when I can't even recreate it. I have no leads other than maybe scripting is causing it.
And it's also really hard to playtest because I've done it so much before that I get so bored of it. I just want the frickin' bug to show up. It's shown up once before I released Update Aphelion, and I don't know how I fixed it.
I'll have to borrow someone elses computer maybe and play it there.

Maybe as the mod creators of Custom NPC mod seeing as the bug sees to me with that mod, maybe they might be able to help.

I might found one cause for why the NPC's dialogue lag.
I started over the map a certains number of time (cause of lag) and I've noticed that after a number of ''customNPCs" save and quest donne, the map start to slow down (even with 8Gb Ram allocated).
So I went in the customspcs mods files in ''saves" and I could saw every backups of the mod. For the quest, I don't where to watch to see which quest I completed.
Then I made an hypothesis, the lag problem could be from the internal server which supports less and less these backups from ''customnpcs" and quest achivement data.
If that is the case, maybe just making a note that resume the finished quest instead of saving the quest would be less heavier for the internal server to support.
(I am french, so sry if my english isn't good)
Ok I up this because I think to be sure now.
In my last game, lag starts when I go in a cave next to a dragon slayer camp and when I defeted Aphelion (Potion are dropping to the infinite certainly by dispensers).
If it's bug at these moment, I think it's due to a (or more) command block that continue to repeat a command it (they) should do once. I am not that good with command block but these came with a coincidence.
Btw I forgot it earlier but this map is really from far the best map I've played. Even with bugs, I still managed to go further and further by ignoring some quest I've already done.
Bumping, I have updated the map on 1-12-21, disabling the inventory saving feature, and made some edits which when testing with my friend, stopped the lag problem that has plagued everyone.
There *is* a way to fix an already broken map, but it's a lot of hassle. Ask if you want me tell you.
Thank you for spending so much of your time fixing this, I've been playing a couple hours past the point where it used to break and it is just so much fun!
If you want to wait, I'll update it right now, but yes that would probably work if you added the map only file into your saves folder for that instance.
But also, the the links on the minecraft forum page should also have everything you need, the modpack and map only files

This is an experiment to try and fix the slow dialog glitch.
Download this file, and drag the customnpcs folder into your Daruma save folder.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/bzk13vszgmp9s51/scriptFix.zip/file
It will disable the inventory and quest saving feature. It's possible that this is causing issues.
If that does not work, and if you are willing to try, please download this version:

where is the old tree where those 2 npc met?
cannot find it
It's a giant tree under Zephyrs Atmosphere, the floating city
Maybe as the mod creators of Custom NPC mod seeing as the bug sees to me with that mod, maybe they might be able to help.

Sorry for the late response, I'm not notified when you update a post.
Hey, thanks for the kind words. I'm still trying to fix this bug.
So, where is this infinite potion thing happening?

Ok, just to be clear, because I am on Linux and there for can't use the curse launcher so I use MultiMC for Minecraft modpacks. before I just downloaded and added this https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/daruma-open-world-rpg-adventure to my MultiMC because it had the whole modpack, but its not been updated with the fix, so do I need to download that and then this https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/worlds/daruma-an-open-world-rpg-adventure/files and add it somewhere in the instance folder?
