Nightmare+ is a datapack that adds changes to every single mob that is capable of damaging the player except for Llamas.
It is a sequel to Nightmare Difficulty, and made by the same person, me, Athesiel / Jordan. There have been several rebalances & many additions in comparison to the original Nightmare Difficulty, as well as an update to work in Minecraft 1.13 Java Edition.
There are two versions available, Nightmare+, and Ultra Nightmare+.
Nightmare+ adds only the new abilities of the mobs, without any of the stat changes. It exists solely for those who were unable to enjoy the mechanics original Nightmare Difficulty due to its, well, difficulty.
Ultra Nightmare+ is a true challenge for true veterans of Minecraft, & adds both the new abilities and increased stats for the mobs affected. It is the true successor to Nightmare Difficulty.
New Mechanics:
Blaze - Cursed Grounds - Now gives nearby players debuffs based on what block they're on; Netherrack gives mining fatigue, Soulsand gives slowness, and Netherbricks give weakness.
Cave Spider - Web Design - See: "Spider"; natural cavespiders will spawn cobwebs when in proximity to a player.
Creeper - Replacal - No longer spawns; See: "Enderman"
Dolphin - Leagues - Dolphins spawn in stronger based on the distance swam by the nearest player at their spawn.
Drowned - Drag - If a drowned spawns with no item, it will be given a trident. Drowns will try to pull the player under, if they are in water. The player will sink quicker if in kelp or seagrass.
Elder Guardian - Thornguarde - Now summons pufferfish depending on how many newly spawned guardians are nearby.
Enderman - Endercreeper - Endermen now spawn holding TNT. They will explode if near the player.
Endermite - Hide - Now enters purpur blocks, endstone, and end bricks in a similar fashion to silverfish.
Evoker - Quick Cast - Instant spell recharge, meaning the evoker will cast spells much more frequently.
Ghast - Explosion Power - Fireballs explode with 3x the power.
Guardian - Slipstream - Now have the ability to dash 5 blocks ahead if a player is too close for too long.
Husk - Revive - If killed normally, the husk will drop bandages which cannot be picked up; if these bandages aren't burned, they will spawn a new husk. If killed with fire, the husk will drop the original drops.
Illusioner - Now spawns in the world via the Witch
Magma Cube - Merge - After enough time near one another, two magma cubes of the same size will fuse together to a larger magma cube.
Phantom - Insomniac - Phantoms spawned will be larger depending on how long it has been since the closest player they spawn to has slept. Before 5 days, size 3 phantoms will spawn. Between days 5 and 7, size 5 phantoms will spawn. Between days 7 and 14, size 12 phantoms will spawn. After 2 weeks of not sleeping, all phantoms spawned closest to the player will spawn as size 25.
Rabbit - Aggro - Rabbits now spawn as the Killer Rabbit, though can be tamed with a weakness splash potion.
Shulker - Directional Effect - Shulkers now change colour depending on the face they are attached to: this reflects additional status effects given to the player from their bullets. Shulker bullets now inflict the player with either blindness, slowness, poison, weakness, mining fatigue, or levitation II.
Silverfish - Mindeater - After long enough near a player, will steal 1 xp from the player (not an entire level, just 1 xp at a time).
Skeleton - Proximity Attack - Skeletons change between using a bow & using a sword based on proximity to the player.
Slime - Merge - After enough time near one another, two slimes of the same size will fuse together to a larger slime.
Spider - Replacal - All spiders will spawn as cave spiders. If the spider would have spawned as a non-cave spider, it will have higher stats but be unable to place web.
Stray - Polar Rider - Has a low %chance to spawn as a Polar Rider: a stray with higher stats riding a polar bear with higher stats.
Vex - Rebound - Small chance to spawn when a potion is thrown.
Vindicator - Vindictive - Spawns with incrementing stats depending on how many Vindicators the nearest player they spawn to has killed.
Witch - Transformation - Will no longer be given the speed, fire resistance, and water breathing status effects: instead, the witch changes form depending on potion drank & how long the witch has existed in the world. After 1 minute of transformation, the witch will turn back to normal. The witch transforms into the following mobs: Fire Resistance: Blaze, Wither Skeleton, Ghast. Water Breathing: Pufferfish (with increased stats), Guardian, Elder Guardian. Speed: Vindicator, Evoker, Illusioner. The transformation cycle goes from 0-1 minute, 1 minute-2.5 minutes, 2.5 minutes-4 minutes, and then resets.
Wither Skeleton- Proximity Attack - Changes gear based on proximity to the player. If the player is near, uses a stone sword and shield. If the player is far, switches to a bow. If killed while using the bow, has a chance to drop Withering arrows.
Zombie - Defleshing - Can always break doors. If killed by fire, replaced with a skeleton that does not burn in daylight.
Zombie Pigman - Aggro - Always spawn hostile.
Zombie Villager - Legion - Now grant various buffs and gear to nearby Zombies / Zombie Villagers based on profession. Farmers grant strength; Librarians will, every 5 seconds, enchant unenchanted gear with sharpness; Priests give a level of resistance based on how many zombies are nearby (if 12 or more zombies are nearby, zombies become effectively immortal, aside from the priest itself); Blacksmiths grant an iron axe to the nearest unarmed once every 5 seconds; Butchers, every 5 seconds, will increase the max health of a single nearby zombie villager from 20 to 30, and increase the health of undamaged zombie villagers as well; Nitwits no longer attack at all.
Stat Changes in Ultra Nightmare+:
ATK = Attack, HP = Hit Points / Health, FR = Following Range, AP = Armor Points, AT = Armor Toughness.
Blaze: 12 ATK, 30 HP.
Cave Spider - Natural: 6 ATK, 16 HP.
Cave Spider - Nightmare: 8 ATK, 20 HP.
Dolphins: Scales from 8 ATK to 30 ATK, 10 HP to 30 HP.
Vindicator: Scales from 1 ATK to 19 ATK, 30 HP to 70 HP.
Witch Puffer Fish: 10 ATK, 20 HP.
Wither Skeleton: 30 HP, 32 FR.
Zombie: 30 ATK, 5 HP.
Zombie Pigman: 8 ATK, 30 HP.
Zombie Villager: 5 ATK, 20 HP.
Installation:
Just like any other datapack, you can install Nightmare+ as follows:
Go to your .minecraft file (located in C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft ),
Find your minecraft/saves folder
Open the save you want Nightmare+ to be in
Go into the folder labeled "datapacks"; if there is not one, create one.
Place Nightmare+.zip within the datapacks folder.
Open the world in minecraft.
Make sure that the datapack is enabled by running the command in-game of /datapack enable "file/Nightmare+.zip"
Once this is done, run the command /reload
