I do love the new features, although sadly the ghost race thing doesn't really work for me, nor have I been lucky enough to get the new "F-zero mode" which I really want to try.
Bug: Knightmare-athon doesn't have an arcade mode map preview. This is the only thing I've found so far.
Edit: spoke too soon, on Knightmare-athon the switch doesn't seem to turn itself off (I think this might have something to do with unloaded chunks, but then again, I'm pretty sure the switch would still turn "on" instead of "off" if that were the case.)
Are they really hard to find, like you need to do something similar to the emerald easter egg in Sakura city?
They're somewhat challenging, but once you find one of them the rest get easier. I totally forgot about the emerald easter egg in Sakura...
Also the eggs only exist in version v1.5.7, they are not in v1.6.1.

You can try "F-ZERO" mode at any time using the Versus modifier menu. I'll get the arcade mode preview fixed soon! As for the switch, I don't make it turn off due to chunk loading concerns (the finish line and the switch are very far apart and are unlikely to be loaded at the same time).
[edit] The 1.12 version of the map now has this issue patched. I also added feather falling boots that activate when elytra is used (since slow falling isn't available in 1.12.2). The feather falling means that elytra will no longer kill you if you fail to deploy your wings... this feature probably should've been incorporated since the demo release over a year ago
Yeah, ghosts are unfortunately pretty laggy. Turning down your render distance might speed them up a little bit? Recording at a lower lap count might help, too.
Wow, that's really cool! Yeah, feel free to translate and republish as long as due credit is given. Once it's done, I can add a link to it on the download pages if you like!
could you convert block commands from the map to datapack?
Because
- it will improve performance
- it will be much easier to make changes and translate
- it will allow the upload on github for the community

Converting everything into a datapack would be nice, but it's also a large undertaking that I don't really have time for at this moment seeing as there are tens of thousands of commands in the map. Many systems would need to be completely overhauled to work as functions... the menu system and track redstone units being particularly radical examples.
I do rather like datapacks and functions, though. If I ever make another Minecraft map, I am definitely going to make heavy use of them.
StickyPiston is also running a minigame server you can practice on at minigamemash.spmc.co. There, you can play MKMC as well as a handful of other great Java minigames-- most of them are new and all of them are for 1.13.2!

I might try to take part in this, although that was the exact time I was gonna stream Smash Ultimate for the first time. But, since I haven't actually announced that to my subs yet I can delay it for this. I haven't played much Minecraft in a while though, been like 4 months since last time I played, but I think I can do it. I will probably even record it!

As much as I love the new Smash, Mario Kart Minecraft is always worth a play!
When it is fully uploaded my video is gonna be here:
That's a really well-done video there! Sorry you kind of got "Mario Kart-d" in that tournament, but at least there's some comedy in the chaos! (I didn't even know squids could block ender pearls... that's kind of ridiculous).
Yeah, the different time of day and weather on the tracks were intentional for Marathon play. I wanted throw in some visual variety for the players who had played those same tracks over and over. Some of the tracks didn't seem to play well with shaders (dark tracks w/ night vision or tracks with lots of stained glass), sorry about that!

I don't think it's the map that has the problem with the shaders, I think it's the shaders themselves. This is the SEUS renewed pack, and I think it is still fairly new with some bugs, especially considering I don't think it's fully compatible with 1.13 yet, which I did NOT know until afterward...
And the squids blocking enderpearls: I thought it was kinda funny. Besides, I highly doubt it will happen THAT often...
will the bonus tracks from 1.5.7 ever be in v1.6.1?
As far as I know, the reason that there are two seperate versions like this in the first place is because MCEdit doesn't currently support 1.13 (Thanks to 1.13's new save format, MCEdit can't read 1.13 worlds), thus making it impossible to add the bonus stages in 1.5.7 (Minecraft 1.12) into 1.6.1 (Minecraft 1.13). What I have also heard, unfortunately, is that there may never be 1.13 support for MCEdit, which is obviously making it a TAD difficult to update the 1.13 version of the map with the new bonus stages (By tad, I mean... completely impossible, hehe...)
Basically what I am saying is, as of right now, the bonus stages in 1.5.7 will not be added to 1.6.1 due to the inability to import them...

Yeah, Mantis pretty much explained it. I currently can't add the bonus tracks to v1.6.1... unless I wanted to convert the 1.12 world to 1.13 and re-do the redstone again (which is a ton of work and probably not worth it just for a few extra tracks).
Some of the developers behind older MCEdit versions are working on a new editor called "Amulet" which will have the ability to edit 1.13 worlds, but I have no idea when that'll be available. Here's to hoping that releases soon!
ALSO:
I've been working on a new version of MKMC to be an official Realms map (re-branded to avoid any and all copyright stuff) which runs entirely on datapacks. Prior to this a friend of mine asked me to write him a datapack for a parkour/sprint-type map. I immediately fell in love with datapacks, and after finishing it I realized the datapack I made would be a good fit for Mario Kart (with some modifications!).
The Realms release will be a more refined, but significantly trimmed down version of the map (trimmed down to take the heat off both myself and the poor saps who would have to QA test it for Realms). If that works out, I might end up transferring the full 1.12 world (with every track EVER included) over to 1.13+ since it would then easily run on the new datapack "game engine" I'm writing as opposed to the wacky mess of command blocks sitting at world spawn. Don't quote me on this, though! This may or may not happen since there isn't much time I can dedicate to it.
The collectibles are dragon eggs. There are only nine of them in the map and all of them are hidden in the Normal and Mirror tracks.
