Beyond The Dwarven Dark is a beautifully crafted epic hybrid of an action-adventure map and heavy storytelling, created by FallDamage312 and Alderdash. It offers up to 14 hours of gameplay with a custom resource pack, its own soundtrack composed and performed by the creators, 19 explorable man-made areas with intricate details, customised characters and voice acting, custom mechanics, a plethora of involving combat with custom enemies, alternative solutions to its riddles and three alternative endings.
You're a young dwarf living in the times of a civilisation-ending clash against monsters. An opportunity to change the tides of war is presented, but is it real?

VintageBeef of Mindcrack has now started a playthrough of the map! He seems to be having lots of fun...
We also finally have a multiplayer version from CaptainAmazing98
Other playthroughs:
Playthrough by DeeJayKitten:
He's using the sphax texture pack though, which is messing with the in-game resource pack slightly!
Playthrough by creodas:
This is from a livestream, so is quite a bit longer!
Playthrough by GreenJay Gaming:
Beyond the Dwarven Dark is loosely based on the world of the Minecraft mini-game Dwarves Vs Zombies, created by Robert Moran. (BruceWillakers on Youtube.)
Many thanks to him for permission to use some elements of the texture pack in this map.
The original game can be played at dvz.buffalowizards.com for those who are curious after playing the map - you might even see us there...!

I've now added a spoiler tab for playthroughs - there are already three up, which is amazing considering it just came out late Saturday night.
They're all pretty much in the early part of the map so far.
So played the map, took me and a friend about 10 hours to complete and wow i could tell a lot of time and effort went into this. Absolutely amazing adventure map and the "quests" that were given weren't hard but not all were easy either. Great storyline and although it was kind of cheesy, I liked it. Most of the "quest items' you needed to find weren't handed to you and you did have to do some digging. I will give some pros and cons about the map.
Pros:
Detailed and extensive.
Not too easy, but not too hard (more on this in cons)
Amazing landscapes.
Cool weapons and armor.
Great checkpoint system
Cons:
As I said, it wasn't easy, but it wasn't hard either, if anything it was annoying. Getting close to the end of the map, the sheer number of mobs was just a pain to get rid of. They were not a challenge, just an annoyance. Maybe up the damage of the mobs while decreasing the amount of mobs? And the knockback skeletons definitely contributed to the annoyance.
Some parts of command blocks broke. (
forgot what it was but nearing completion of the map, the "button 1 of 3 clicked" for the security thing kept popping up in chat
).
Friends low-mid range laptop had trouble playing the game due to the # of mobs being spawned, but we got through.
Not too many cons because as I said, it definitely is an amazing map. Would recommend to any adventure map enthusiast. solid 4.7/5

So glad that you guys enjoyed it, and that's a great score you've given us there, thank you!
(As to the rogue command block - I swear toward the end every time we fixed one, another popped up. It was like playing whack-a-mole. I think they were just trolling us during that last week...)
