Go to the 'Create New World' screen, and click on 'World Type' until it says 'Superflat'. Click 'Customize', then 'Presets'. Delete all the text in the box at the top and replace it with my preset given above. Click 'Use Preset', then 'Done', then 'Create New World'. Have fun!
Sadly, I don't want to use imgr or other sites, so you will have to content yourselves with oddly squinting at the attachments to try and see what they are. Good luck!
I was messing around with various presets the other day, and I came up with this.
Due to the whole world being made of glass, mobs won't spawn as easily, ores will be harder to find, and food and wood will be rare.
The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is this:
1. Don't die
2. Find at least one village
3. Start a tree farm
4. Start a melon/pumpkin farm
5. Get all 5 sets of armor (Chain is optional)
6. Go to the nether
7. Kill the dragon and the wither (The wither should be fun in this preset!)
8. Build an awesome mansion (Optional)
Or you could just play it however you want. I'm not your boss.

First of all, this preset still works fine in 1.9.
Second, I just found out that you can find dungeons! (Even though they are INCREDIBLY rare.)

Hints
1. You can find grass (For seeds) in the main room of mineshafts if you can't find a village for some reason.
2. Saplings have a rare chance of spawning in blacksmith chests.
3. You can find melon and pumpkin seeds in mineshaft chests.
4. Your only source of paper are the chests in the strongholds. Use it wisely.
5. The only animals that you will find are the chickens from chicken jockeys. They don't lay eggs, but you can breed them.
6. If you want mob drops, try making a mob trap or even just a large open spot of something other than glass.
7. Due to the fact that there are no cows for milk, the poison spider spawners might be tricky if they work. Try breaking them from above.
8. There is no sand for glass, but you can either use fences or get a silk touch something and hulk smash the ground with it.
