I seem to be having issues reading the books as they appear to be cutting off mid-sentence. I've tried everything off the top of my head to scroll the page down, but nothing is working.

I'm running 1.9 is that's any help.
The map is made to run on 1.8-1.8.9 and should be run using the texture pack John Smith Legacy. If you run it without the texture pack, the books will not read right and the map has not been tested on 1.9 at all and will probably not work. I hope this helps.
That is so weird! I have no idea. I looked at the book you are showing me in game on my end and on my sisters computer and the only word that has been cut off is "house." It should not do this, even in windowed mode, its the first time I have heard of this problem. I am going to continue to look into this problem and try to find a fix. Until then, if you keep playing and need any crucial information, let me know. I can fill you in.
Okay I may have a solution. Looking at both screenshots, you may want to re-check the version of texture pack you are using.

I used the specific build of the texture pack and it didn't seem to make a difference, but seeing that I might only be missing three words at the most, i'm not that concerned anymore.
Thanks for all the quick support though, and nice work on the map. I'm going to start over in 1.9 regardless of the dangers there may be simply because i'm a huge fan of the new combat system and keep in mind any problems I come across are probably my own, ha ha.

Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing the map. Good luck to you, I hope it at least semi-works in 1.9 If you ever need anything, just shout.

Having a great time so far, but one thing I have to bring up that had me lost is that Fae's book "The Giant Lockbox" states you need to check the yellow-green island for a combination lock mechanism and the only thing that fits the description is the tiny hero island. The lock box island is primarily yellow and has no green that I've seen.

I suppose it is kind of yellow. Here is a screenshot of the island he is talking about. I will change the book to state yellow instead of green in the next update.

I did and still continue to use the texture pack and I can see why it could be called green as well on second thought, which is what got me as I saw the Lockbox island as primarily yellow and grey with a slight hint of green.
I just assumed the lime green island was best fitting and searched it over quite a few times looking for something, ha ha.

Haha, yeah, its kind of green....and kind of yellow...kind of green yellow lol - or a yellow green. Will put in the book green/yellow so there is no confusion in the future hehe.

Is there an enchanting area around in the earlyish game? I've got a whole bunch of levels and I'm getting more hesitant to adventure with them.
There is a free one you can find....on the "Island of Askir" - That's after you travel to "Wesnara" though....and I think you find one on Wesnara...however...Wesnara is past Hell Road....which can be dangerous. Books, paper and sugar cane are sparse early game. Though you can raid and take whatever bookcases you might find in whatever dungeons you complete. It can be a little difficult early game, cause you have to adventure to get most of the resources you want or need. Though dont be afraid to spend your diamonds and gold early game if you find something you really want or need and cant get anywhere else at the moment. The mayor provides a way to buy diamonds, emeralds and gold should you need.

I do recall the place on the Island of Askir you're talking about, wish I saw something earlier to invest levels in before Hell Road, ha ha.
I've noticed on multiple occasions that I get notified that there is change on Hero Island, but I can't find anything else besides:
the wool monument, the collection alley, and the one shortcut passage.
It's happened at least three times now in separate places like :
Thank you for putting it in a zip file. I will now try out the map. It seems great!

Map will not work in 1.9
Should be played using John Smith Legacy texture pack -
https://www.johnsmithlegacy.co.uk/
Make sure to use the 1.8.9 version.

I tried using the resource pack and downgrading to 1.8.9 but the problem is still persisting:

You can buy one from Mop's "General Goods" in Nornathos for 6 diamonds. Its the only one available really early game. Its his last trade.

Am I overlooking something?
