Me and a friend gave your map a try. We really enjoyed it. We recorded it also and I've uploaded the full raw footage so it's pretty long (01:09:00) and unfortunately my friends audio was reduced (fixed for next time). Regardless, just wanted to say we enjoyed the map.
I must play that map. I always wanted to play a hack'n'slash / dungeon crawling map (and a map that takes place in outer space but that's besides the point xD ). I have a question: is the loot in the chests randomly generated? That would be great
Anyway, you can expect another playthrough soon, made by MysticLaian
Thanks. I hope you enjoy it!
The loot in the chests is not randomized. That is just something I didn't do in this map. I do plan on making another dungeon crawler, but with most of the elements randomized.
Hello again, Nate. I know you've already seen these videos a bunch, but at least on the forum I can type more =D
Here's some points as to why I think this map is great:
-Your building style is extremely practical. The texture pack and choice of details made the map immsersive without interfering with the gameplay. Maybe one consideration is the difference between Minecraft, a first-person game, and normal top-down dungeon crawlers. The map was simple enough to avoid any navigational confusion, but it's definitely something to consider if expanding the map. I'd say you'd probably need to put in terrain cues that give navigational hints to the players.
-The item shops are fantastic. The items are interesting and provide a lot of choice to the player in terms of what style of play they want to take. The fact that most of the items don't repeat between shops means that players (sorta*) need to make decisions when in the shops to distribute their resources and make trade-offs.
*I mean players can grind and go back to previous shops, but I think players will only do that if that's the kind of game they enjoy... =/
-Boss Fight, great stuff. This is what I've always wanted from a Minecraft boss fight. The difficulty was spot on, it was slightly overwhelming and stressful ^^. I really felt like I achieved something when we won. One minor thing might be that I thought Phase II was easier than Phase I. It might be good to switch the phases? Also might be good since Phase I isn't something found normally in Minecraft, so it's more of a dramatic crescendo during the fight.
-Great job on the gate animations =D.
-Inclusion of special mobs like the Iron Sentinels varied the combat strategy a little. Also rooms with spikes put players into situations where they couldn't just use their normal fighting tactics and had to adjust. I think even more of gameplay altering mechanics would make the map even better, even something simple like terrain usage.
Great map =D One of my favorites ever along with Dungeon Arena II. Well done Nate!
Also we made fun of you for building the map for a long time... heheh.

Thanks for those awesome thoughts. I really appreciate that you pointed out what you liked and suggested improvements for it. Yeah, I did take a long time making the map, but hopefully I have learned from my mistakes and will make maps quicker now.
Good map with decent quality! Could I ask a question? How could you add this effect(photo). It seems not a normal item attributes.
I used nbt data and Lore text. What I did was hide all the flags so that normal attributes aren't shown. Then I used lore text and formatting codes to make the fake attributes. To actually give the attributes I gave the player Resistance level 3 when they hold the item for the 60% damage reduction and for the 50% damage reduction I used the normal mechanics for swords. I have included some links that might help if you want to do something like it yourself.
I got it. Thanks for your patient. That's really help me a lot
No problem. I like helping people. That is one of the reasons why I started a YouTube channel. I just have a hard time recording videos. So text is sometimes easier for me.
If you couldn't mine, it would be called Craft. If you couldn't craft, it would be called Mine. If you couldn't do anything, it would be called a ripoff! >:> My quiz-->http://www.onlinequi...assessment-1638
This map is incredible! I can't believe half of this stuff is possible in vanilla!
I'm having a little trouble though. I've reached a gate after the intermediate shop, after a flight of stairs, but I don't have a key and I can't find anywhere mobs spawn. Are there meant to be mobs here, or is there some sort of puzzle I need to solve?
EDIT: I'm not encountering any mobs after the intermediate shop. I ended up breaking through that one gate. Lots and lots of empty rooms with no enemies! I'm sure this isn't right.
You have to open the gate legitimately for it to trigger the mobs. You probably didn't pick up a key somewhere and it despawned. All keys (except for the very first one) are dropped by monsters. You can use item frames as a substitute for gate keys. If you place the item frame on the middle of the gate, but nothing happens, then you did not trigger the wave that drops the key. The map works on an as needed basis, the map will not trigger certain events unless the events leading up to it have been triggered. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope this helps.
I think the issue must be that this one room isn't activating its mob spawns. I tried restarting the game and got to the same area, and again encountered the same problem. Is there anyway I can force the spawns to occur?
This could be the case. I use command block minecarts to trigger the waves. There is a bug in Minecraft that will cause entities to disappear randomly when you die. This is usually just a visual glitch, but sometimes it is permanent. If you don't want to restart the map again (this time with a fresh copy of the world save. i.e. redownload the map), then you can just break through the ceiling in the area you are stuck in, look for some command blocks, and if you see an activator rail with no minecart, then you know that is the problem. You can force a wave to spawn by replacing the dark gray wool with a redstone block. Keep in mind though, if you have 1 missing minecart, it is highly likely you will have multiple missing minecarts. So for that reason it is probably better to just redownload the map. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you can get it figured out.

I won't be doing anything like this. But if you want to, you can. The texture pack itself is in the world save folder, it is named: "resources." You can copy that folder and paste it into your resource packs folder and use it as a resource pack. The greatsword already is the diamond sword. So you just need to delete all the extra textures. If you use my textures for anything, just make sure you give credit to the original artist (me). I hope this helped.
