Thanks for hosting this on your server. The speed is a little slow, but beggers can't be choosers. I saw Etho and Koala playing this map on Youtube today at work and just HAD to download it. From what I've seen, I wanted to say BRA-VO!
I've spent an hour digging sand, sifting it, transforming it just to get basic tools. It's not a 'challenge' to the player to make them repeat the same menial task over and over.
Edit: post-play I did explore the map in detail and I feel like the distance to the hidden loot as compared to the small amount you can get is not worth it. Considering the max amount of water bottles you can carry and the duration of day/night with no bed to keep mobs away. It's actually faster to just sift the dust for the zinc, even though exploration is less tedious.
I feel like the sift rate on Zinc is way too low. I've spent an hour digging sand, sifting it, transforming it just to get basic tools. Taking way too long - which decreases my enjoyment. I feel like I 'get it' and need some way to more speedily get the steel...
There are other ways to get it Explore the map, mine it, etc.

I felt the same way. Took a really long time to get basic tools because the Zinc drop rate from the sieve seemed very low.
zinc has the same drop rate as iron, gold, salt, etc.
I think you may want to look into it a bit closer.
Through my entire LP, I found Zinc drops at about half the rate of gold, 1/4 the rate of iron, and 1/8 the rate of bone/salt/gunpowder.
sUUUUPER AWESOME map! There's just 1 problem: when i FINALLY crafted the grappling hook, the "grapple grapple" quest didn't finish. What do i have to do now?

Place it in the middle slot of the Crafting Module. (Essentially you've completed the map) Hope you enjoyed it!
I also just want to say that this is so far amazing.
Glad you enjoyed! This is such an amazing map. I'm still playing Crash Landing and you've done a great job recreating it in vanilla.
Here is my first episode. Second episode will be up tomorrow.
Play the map in 1.8.3

The server was down for a few minutes. It's back up now. I'll try and get the map on CurseForge soon, I just want to do some bugfixes before then.

There are other ways to get zinc. Explore the map, mine, etc. Plus drops are pretty much random, zinc has the same drop rate as iron, gold, salt, etc.
