Yep, that's fairly close. For the most part I try to make the command blocks as unobtrusive as possible though, hence the auto-tp and intro effects which (hopefully) immediately cause immersion. I was trying to make it feel like you just got up dizzy from a long fall. There are also death effects and the game will detect when you beat it. How did it feel to you?
I watched Donger's video of your dodgeball. Didn't play, but it looked pretty well done mechanic's-wise. I'm pretty familiar with command blocks, but a lot more with classic redstone. How did you keep track of the shots that "missed"?
That's pretty efficient for diamonds! I'm sure you've noticed I changed ore distribution and sizes pretty drastically. I think the new balance is more realistic. A lot of players had difficulty finding certain kinds though due to old habits.
You got established pretty fast. Keep it up, and make sure to explore! You never know what you might run into...
Thanks, after finishing the redstone on the 3rd map, I figured I coulda compacted the others What do you mean shots that "missed"?
I like the ore distribution. Deciding if I should make an enchantment table (Tho I need to find some sugarcane )
Exploring is... A bad idea. I get lost in caves and mineshafts Till I make a diamond pickaxe anyways
Oh, I thought you were counting the shots the Ghasts missed with to increase the score. Is that not the case?
Getting to Enchanting is a bit of a process. let me know how it goes!
Darn! I was just doing a quick test of V1.2.0b to see how the beginning felt when suddenly I realized I messed something up on that release and it already has 80 downloads! Bob somehow got moved a few blocks underground. looks like he got buried by the cave in instead of being a survivor lol. I guess it doesn't matter. I also left an free anvil in the mines--that was a mistake--I really tried not to give players anything like that. I'm guessing I was naming something and forgot to remove it saturday. All Fixed now. 80 players found a Bob underground outside of his room and got a free anvil...sigh. Other than that the new additions played good though.

Found a skeleton spawner So I expanded my carrotss While I was building the portal, I found some iron Silk touch or feather falling... This is a tough one I'm in.
@Babymercy, looks like things are coming along quite nicely for you now, you could do with changing the coarse dirt to normal dirt asap though, so it spreads whilst you are doing other things, then you can get some wheat farms on the go
Thanks A TON! I didn't notice, and probably wouldn't xD I thought danaphanous turned random tick speed down xD
It is a bug, of sorts, but it's a minecraft one. I definitely didn't build that portal. I've had that happen to me before. Occasionally that happens because the nether portal has trouble finding your original overworld portal. From the nether-side the portal can connect to overworld portals in a very, very large area, and apparently it decided your old one was invalid and made a new one closer to itself. This can happen if your original portal in the nether was forced to spawn a bit away from the desired position, due to it being solid netherrack in the desired position. To fix, here is what you do, divide your base coords by 8 in X,Z match the Y. Navigate to that place in the nether and build a new portal. The link to your old portal should then be restored. Also clear out the rock around your old portal just in case. What you just experienced is actually "designed" by some players so they can get a 1-way teleport across a large distance. It happens because of the way the portals look for each other and there happens to be a bias in the search area.
I would have explored a bit if I were you, that new area you were thrown into looks very interesting and desert biomes probably have decent amounts of sand even underground. Oh, and you don't need creative to use the tp command btw.
EDIT: please disable F3 and debug-mode before posting pics. Many players enjoy finding things out themselves and having coords on the screenshots detracts from that. For now, just put that pic in a spoiler.
by the way, you appear to be my most active new player on the updated version. If you find anything else you think may be a mistake please message me about it. stuff like that Anvil xD

oh man! Wish I had one of those picks. Hopefully soon. We are still grinding on zombies and growing cane until our table is finished at this point...and my playthrough partners are deciding they have no time so I'm stuck not doing anything exciting without them. One of the downsides of multiplayer I guess.
On the plus side I just started a singleplayer game on the newest version! I'm testing for any bugs at this point but also just taking it slow and enjoying myself. Nothing worth pics yet, but I got a potato already! Was pretty excited about that because the new update definitely has a food shortage like I'd hoped. Have yet to find melon sides. Also realized I finished the map and logged out at the perfect time and place so that you hear a thunderclap starting a new game for the first time. Thunder plays in the background for a few minutes while you dig yourself out. Kinda cool--though one wonders why the thunder is so loud deep underground. Minecraft thunder sound plays assuming the heights are default I guess because the spawn area is really deep...

Well, my single-player game is progressing well! It started as a test but I think I'll just play the game. enjoying it.
I was pretty efficient on my 2nd run through. I've fully explored, lit, and looted all of the first mineshaft. Got some good gardens going. I visited a couple of the closer custom areas after that that were close or in the main mineshaft. Basically as I stumbled across them. All mechanics working well though I realized one chest minecart sometimes renders invisible? I had to log out and back in, it appeared empty when I first got to it. The mysterious vanishing treasure I guess.
Speaking of the spider nest I took it on by myself today:
Last time we attacked it with a team of 3 and it still killed 2 of us. Did not realize how annoying it was by yourself with all those webs immobolizing you because you have to clear webs to move but are constantly attacked. I also got knocked off the bridge into the nest in the beginning despite caution but managed to survive by digging into the wall. After studying it I decided to dig in at key point on the side on the floor so I had escape routes and started slowly clearing out the webs. I also went caving for a while when the nest spawned too many to handle and when I came back they'd all despawned. Finally worked through the whole thing after about 20 minutes of hit and run. whew! Got the reward too, got stuff. Still no deaths at this point, feeling pretty cocky I immediately took on a skeleton spawner at the bottom only to realize that the spawner must have been going a while. There were about 20 skelies down there. Killed most but got pinged rounding a corner for the first death. Darn skeletons, it's messy when there's that many but I should have been more careful. sigh...
I've also retrieved 3 mysterious scraps of paper so far spelling a secret message but it is incomplete. I guess I need to find more...and then I can go a-journeying! Base is pretty spartan right now, I mainly just threw down chests and got gardens going so I'd have food growing while I cleared places. It'll be a while yet before I get to the tech level in my multiplayer game, but at least I'm not starving now and have plenty of coal and iron.

The way I managed to clear the spider nest by myself was to clear webs just enough to slap a torch down, then use my health as a barrier to protect me from the spiders while I retreated. I went to a safe position and fought off any following me before the poison took me to minimum health, then I waited and brought health back up. As I got more torches in there, it became easier to clear more webs. The skeleton spawner wasn't so hard because I killed a bunch of the skeletons while I was clearing webs, and I had a good view of it before I ran over to it.
After being given clues about a new area, I made sure F3 info was off and built a compass to figure out west. Then while using it, I remembered it points toward spawn, not west. My compass doesn't point toward my bed though, maybe I'll need to sleep again... Well I haven't managed to figure out which way west is without "cheating" so I'm still pondering that one. Danaphanous, can you pm me the location of the paper clues you think I'd have already uncovered? I want to have them in my inventory. Or are they all in dungeon chests? I could just make a second game and run through in creative mode to find them.
Well, I found an obsidian vein while digging and decided to carve myself a nether portal:
It took a while because I didn't have a chisel, but I kept at it and eventually got the thing operational. Pro-tip: in a pinch, an axe can serve as a chisel.
So I go into The Nether and first thing I do, like always, is put on that Nether Portal armor. It makes the thing look like a grey box, and protects it from stray Ghast shots:
I did some preliminary exploring and was giving up at first on finding a nether fortress in the immediate area, I was about to prepare for some more rugged travel when I peeked around one last corner on a tricky ledge and saw a hint of a nether fortress in the distance. I am in the process of building a safe path to it but the building is tricky. I've dug through a bunch of netherrack and must complete the path with a bridge over lava. Then I will experience Nether Fortress-ness and possibly Wither Fragments, Blaze Rod Transporters, and Potion Awkwardizers. If I get lucky, I might get diamonds. I still don't have any yet, but I haven't gone branch mining yet. Another pro-tip: strip mining (removing all of the rock) is a lot more work than branch mining (digging one path every 3-4 blocks) and branch mining misses nothing or almost nothing, so it's a much more efficient way to dig. Someone was talking about strip mining earlier, just thought I'd throw ya a tip!
Anyway I'm avoiding doing any digging for exploration until I have fully explored what's available without it. There's still a few paths left and it is difficult to find them sometimes because of how large the area is, but I'm also working on closing off as many fully explored areas as I can to simplify it. I just throw down a block of cobblestone at the entrance to a path that leads nowhere. If it goes around and joins another, I might seal one end and put a cobblestone block at the other. That simplifies my paths and helps me organize it all in my head. I've got most of the mineshaft explored though, and what remains is two cave systems. Who knows how far they will take me?
edit: forgot to mention: I found a baby zombie spawner! I'm not sure if it was custom content but it looked like it was. There was a lot of webs and there were cave spiders coming from the area so I though there must be a cave spider spawner but after digging it out, the cave spiders stopped coming and the baby zombies stopped spawning inside blocks and dying, and I uncovered a floating baby zombie spawner! At some point I may get around to using this to make a chicken farm. Shouldn't be too hard since the occurrence rate of chicken jockeys will be 20x higher with this than with a regular zombie spawner.
Quick update: I reached the nether fortress and found 5 diamonds in a chest, just enough to make a pick and an enchantment table! I've also got some blaze rods and I got a bit of coal from wither skeletons. They don't spawn often but I may yet be able to turn them into a source of coal. I still need sand/glass/glass bottles and nether wart to do any brewing, so it'll be a while before I get any villagers I think. The nether fortress didn't have any nether wart that I found. I'm not sure why others seemed to have so little difficulty getting it. Oh well, there's plenty of nether left.
So lets go through the challenge checklist and see what I've done so far:
Tier 1:
1.) stone tools - done
2.) smelt iron - done
3.) build house - never bothered, but I have a base
4.) farm w/ 2 food - done
5.) mob farm - done
Tier 2:
1.) redstone ore - done
2.) lapis ore - done
3.) full armor - done
4.) enchanted item - done (first item was a power I bow)
5.) diamond ore - ** incomplete **
Tier 3:
1.) make anvil - done
2.) make jukebox - ** incomplete **
3.) make enchantment table - done
4.) make nether portal - done
5.) make brewing stand - ** incomplete **
I guess we have an escapee! Don't spoil it for others--No hints!
For everyone else: there are no rules on the map. Any way you can figure out to escape the underworld in survival is valid. If you aren't sure following the challenge list to the end you should get some clues...that's all I'm saying.
EDIT: the nether fortresses are quite far out on this map. You must have found a different one then me but it also took me ages of walking to find one
Space Expedition to EPIC 204:Go on a Space-Age Adventure to visit and explore EPIC 204, a wacky world of dense asteroids and full of alien life! Experience Custom Seasons, Weather, Over 50 new creatures, Beautiful Biomes, Alien Ruins, Dungeons, and new space age tech crafting recipes!
I started my diamond pick mining bedrock and taped the mouse button down while I went and did something else for a few hours.
(Just kidding - don't bother trying that because it won't work) XD
I don't understand how you can walk for ages in the Nether. I can't seem to sprint off one bread's saturation before hitting a wall, cliff, lava ocean, or other obstacle. Without making bridges, drilling tunnels, etc. I can't really travel very far in the nether. But I've done some work nonetheless in the immediate area of my portal to clean it all up. I have made some cobblestone towers with burning netherrack on top to mark important locations, and made paths in which I placed one Cobblestone block in the ground every few meters, just enough to be able to see what direction it's going.
Since my Nether Portal was on the side of a lava sea, I decided to name it Edge of Madness Nether Portal. Following my portal convention, that region of the Nether is now known as Edge of Madness. As the Nether Fortress wasn't too far away but far enough to be a new region (because it's far enough to make a new portal if I wanted to), I decided to call it Madness Nether Fortress. I'll post a pic later for reference. Then I traveled a ways out and made another portal to connect to a new area for more exploration. I decided afterward I don't really want to explore it yet since I have plenty left connected in the underworld, but it was fun making it. I have to push myself to stop playing in the Nether though because although it's fun for a change of pace it's running me out of coal and iron!! Anyway I named my third nether region Dragonborne. Maybe it's headed toward a dragon, maybe it's just a Skyrim reference, who knows? I don't...yet.
As for the hints, I won't give any overtly. I might hide them in my posts somewhere but I won't make it obvious.

I want ocean content(thanks Möjang!), nether biomes(again thanks!!), and savanna passive mobs (meerkats incoming!?).
I Feel like I am missing clues! I have searched and searched to no avail, still no cactus, still no cocoa beans, nothing new apart from upgrading my tools/armour since the spiders nest... think I need to rethink my strategy!
Oh! That can be frustrating. You haven't found anything since the spider nest? Hmmm...maybe I need to link the areas a bit more--I don't want mid-game to be boring... No one has found 2 areas very close to spawn so far, that I was sure would be discovered fairly early.
Reaver, I'm kinda a nether guy. I've spent a lot of time there and travel pretty fast. My method is to torch-trail and I cobblestone bridge over the largest lava lakes. I carry stacks of gravel for getting between the shelves and levels. Good job on the first fortress, that is terrible luck having no nether wart...mine had 3 gardens of it.

I use coords too . It's just harder not too so some players say you shouldn't use it on challenge maps. *ahem* reaver.
As for finding places, I think I misjudged the effect of the sprawling underground on players. I like to mine tunnels, but apparently a lot of players stuck to the connected caves and some of my areas you really have do some exploratory digging to find. Is that too much? Should I artificially connect up some of the areas via caves? I do want to balance this middle part. I'm pretty confident the end-part will be fun though. Still waiting on someone to try and locate a stronghold and all that. Or seek out the secret message destination!

I want
ocean content(thanks Möjang!),nether biomes(again thanks!!), and savanna passive mobs (meerkats incoming!?).Oh!
