From the wiki: "You can use a name tag on a villager directly upon exiting a Nether portal, any other time will cause the trading interface to open and leave the villager unnamed."
Also the wiki recently removed the line about villagers despawning (I just double-checked) without a village so I guess that was false! I suspected bc we've cured them before left the chunk, and they were always still there. So no worries!
Ah, that's frustrating! More KFC huh? Yeah preserving nether chickens is a tough chore...we'll have to see who can accomplish it first!
Sounds like you're prepping well! That's an epic story with the pigmen, I've had my share of pigman sieges, they can get a bit out of hand.

Just some advice, it's good that you guys are holding off on the stronghold quest until early next week because we have an update in the works!!! I've been giving the game a lot of thought and taking into account everyone's feedback and pm's and I've decided to polish the game a bit further and add a few things to the experience. I'm designing it in a way that you should be able to update your chunks and get most of the new content in your current games--I'll post instructions when the update comes out...probably sometime Saturday.

Alright, just post a screenie of Lava River Treasure Trove ravine so I can identify it when I stumble across it, to make sure I don't accidentally give it some other name. I'll try to get a screenshot of Naked Sky Ravine, Applesauce Ravine, and Diaphanous Gossamer Spawn Room for posterity later.

I'm playing this map with my son, who gets too scared mining/searching dungeons with me.
So I blew him up a massive cavern in which he trains animals makes houses, rides horses into walls etc... Theres no way in hell I'm getting the gear he needs the legit way.
I suspect I took this screenshot just after I filled his chest with his next wishlist of gear.
For myself, I wouldn't play it if I could pull gear out of thin air, it just wouldn't be fun. I have strict rules for myself to keep the game enjoyable. I lived on zombie flesh for the first 4 hours of play and loved it.

I saved my zombie flesh and ate the bread, but I ran out while I was farming the zombie spawner for potatoes and carrots. I never got any. Later I got melons but I went back to bread after I made a wheat farm cause cave spiders. It took me a while to get iron but I didn't die before then. My first and only death happened in the spider spawner room.

Looks like the thread has been busy while was asleep! here is a pic of Lava River Treasure Trove Ravine: if you ever find it I scored 16 iron, 3 emerald, 3 diamond there in that little ravine. See what I mean reaver? It's only like 4-5 high. It had some floating gravel in the ceiling too which I was careful NOT to touch xD. Easy to miss it is so short.

Cave-In update which I JUST FINISHED!!!! Featuring more Mysteries than ever and additions to the storyline and End-Game.
After taking into account everyone's feedback including pm's I've received and reports from you guys, I've decided to make some changes. This will probably be the last version but if you just absolutely LOVE this sort of thing I guess I can do more.
Are you current players who are already 10+ hours in worried that you won't get the new content? Never fear! There's no way I'd release an update that I couldn't share with my first players! I gave this a lot of thought and realized there was an easy way to let you guys update your games. I've done region-based changes, which means, all you have to do is following:
You should see inside the folders: data, playerdata, stats, DIM1, DIM-1, and region. Open the "region" folder.
Copy the 2 regions files inside my folder, r.-2.2 and r.0.1 to your region folder. Accept if it asks if you want to overrwrite existing files.
One of the changes you may not find due to not having an in-game clue that was only added in V1.2.0. Here is the clue, on scraps of paper you find the writing: scrap 1: "Did you like our little surprise? Come Visit us...if you dare...", additional scraps contain location information indicating: "west", "past the ravines"
This means you can get almost all of the new custom content that I've been working on in your current, in-progress games in about 1 minute! Very easy to do. PM me if you need more instructions. Added a new pic to the OP too as a teaser.

Been playing for .86 of an hour, here's what I have so far:
My farm (carrots on the left, wheat on the right(Bonemealed the largest patch of grass, and got a seed)) My base, using bob's armour ATM. And I'm going to turn the zombie spawner into an xp farm.

@Valdarok: Yeah, it'd be a lot easier if you had a 2nd villager to trade with for more emeralds. Using only one guy can be tricky. I guess you're gonna have to buy stuff for a while. You have any problems with the update?

Well Today was a lucky day! Found a fortress with good loot and 3 nether wart gardens. Got 10 blaze rods fighting and killed many wither skeletons getting my first wither skull! While mining I also found a pocket of 130 sand. I cured two villagers with my 2 apples and they were in order: the priest (who buys rotten flesh and sells lapis!) and the librarian (buys paper sells bookcases and glass!) I'm now hard at work filling out my enchantment table! I also got my first chicken while grinding on the Zombie trap. I saw something there I've very rare: I zombie generated with diamond armor on. And he actually dropped his leggings which have pretty OP enchants on them! They are damaged, but should be repairable pretty easy. Only one thing I was not lucky at today: The zombies have dropped 7 potatoes so far but not a single carrot! Pics!

Went mining for 20mins, found quite a few diamonds.
Yep, that's fairly close. For the most part I try to make the command blocks as unobtrusive as possible though, hence the auto-tp and intro effects which (hopefully) immediately cause immersion. I was trying to make it feel like you just got up dizzy from a long fall. There are also death effects and the game will detect when you beat it. How did it feel to you?
I watched Donger's video of your dodgeball. Didn't play, but it looked pretty well done mechanic's-wise. I'm pretty familiar with command blocks, but a lot more with classic redstone. How did you keep track of the shots that "missed"?
That's pretty efficient for diamonds! I'm sure you've noticed I changed ore distribution and sizes pretty drastically. I think the new balance is more realistic. A lot of players had difficulty finding certain kinds though due to old habits.
You got established pretty fast. Keep it up, and make sure to explore! You never know what you might run into...
