Moonlit Miasma. The "seamless" teleporter to/from the monument always spawns me sideways/down in the wall/floor and suffocates me (I managed to dig out without dying or losing things, but have had to dig out on both sides). And though I've only done a small portion of this area, the loot seems very weak for a 'late' area (though any loot after Forlorn Legacy will probably seem weak, as that area's loot was far far better than anything other area I've completed yet). MM is also quite dark, though that's probably 'needed' for the moonlight holes and atmosphere - at least I saw a castle at the end illuminated with red torches, and some other useful lighting cues.
Since my prior comments, though, I've completed Corrosion and Forlorn Legacy, both of which were good areas. I've actually some to enjoy building some of the rail lines for my own personal shortcuts.

As I get close to the end of the map, there's still a couple emeralds I can't seem to find... Render, can I ask you for hints directly (or else any other completion suggestions?)

In the Miner's Dream, I don't like the use of the 'stone' wooden slabs. I spent the first hour enderpearling away from ghasts and blazes desperately trying to avoid them burning down the paths, only to later discover the paths don't burn because it's made of blocks that don't really exist in the game. I feel this is a bad design choice that will confuse some players.
The area is very fun though; I have good armor and enjoy it. I do wonder how those who lost their good armor will fare in this area though.
Some friends and I have been working on your map for a good while, and we're nearing the finish line. We'd love to give you a tour of what we've done... so we sent you a Minecraft Realms invite! Feel free to pop on and take a look around. (you've got admin, so you can slip into creative/spectator mode to fly about if you want)
Myriad Caves might be the best CTM I've ever played, and I've played a lot of CTM maps. I'm two wool in, with a large amount of emeralds, and I plan on completing the bonus monument.
After I beat this map I'll be sure to play your other ones, Goliath looks fantastic. I hope you continue making maps, hopefully more on the difficult side rather than not. CTM maps with a real challenge are lacking nowadays, and so far Myriad Caves has been really testing me.
as mentioned a couple posts ago, we're playing Myriad Caves on a realms Server, and RenderXR accepted our invitation and stopped by for a tour!
We got to show him the utter devastation we inflicted on the brown-wool area, and share a few storie of our experiences with various tricks and treats. Stories of derpy deaths and being betrayed by our own cleverness. (Some traps only affect those trying to disarm another trap!)
He also clued us in to some details we'd missed. For example, there exists a wall somewhat obscured by vines that has a secret message written in it! And we didn't realize that the houses with nameplates were all dedicated to various Lets Play people, and that RenderXR made each house uniquely - every house in that zone is distinct. All told, it took quite some time to do! He explained how he implemented the Very Negative Consequences for turning the lava to obsidian in some of the late lava-floored areas. And we got some insights into the thoughts behind the traps.
Once again, kudos to RenderXR, cream of the crop for CTM maps!
Myriad Caves is somewhat different from the other CTMs I have played before. Good work man, I am loving it. Just thought I should leave a positive feedback
Decided to start up an LP of Myriad caves for my Monumental Victory series. While I didn't get a chance to LP the first map in the Untold Stories Series, I did Livestream it, I had heard great things about the map and decided to do so!

Hey I was wondering if I'm allowed to use a backpack mod, (this mod in particular). I'll be sure not to do anything gamebreaking and only use the 27 slot regular backpack.
If you look at the picture below you'll notice that when I'm fully ready to take on an area (with stacks of torches/arrows, and replacement armor/tools/potions etc) I only have around 13 available inventory slots, which is really bad considering I've encountered loot chests that would take up 20+ slots in my inventory, so I pretty much have to stop all my progress and everything I'm doing and go back to my base (which takes 5+ minutes depending on the area) to deposit my loot and then go back (which takes another 5 minutes). This gets EXTREMELY tedious and frustrating.
Normally I wouldn't ask permission of the mapmaker when using somewhat gamebreaking mods, but so far this is EASILY the best CTM map I've ever played. I'm absolutely loving it and the amount of content in it is insane, I have 24 hours played and so far I only finished around a third of the map.
Anyways I would really like to know whether or not I'm able to use this mod considering I doubt you designed this map with this mod in mind.

Thanks for the reading
I feel like you can add mods as you please. If you add a gamebreaking mod that makes the game too easy that is then your own fault. A backpack shouldn't really be too ground breaking. (It also is that over the years a lot more items were added, but there wasn't really a inventory size upgrade.)
Some other mods that seem fun is a mod which instantly cuts down a whole tree like in Terraria or the dynamic light from Optifine is also a fun one.
So feel free to customize your own experience with mods.

I'll try to be cautious when using this mod considering it DOUBLES your inventory slots (and that's only if you use the small backpack), since obviously I would hate to make the map too easy and end up ruining my experience. Although like you said there's been sooo many new items added that to me it seems only fair to get a boost in inventory space.
Anyways I'll be sure to make a post about the map (Goliath) after I finish completing it, so far it's been amazing and I honestly can't think of anything bad about it, you've done an amazing job designing it.
I will post this since I didn't see anyone mention it. I died last night in Forsake Cliffs, in the trap of the "exploding" ladder. I was too focused on watching a Creeper right at the opening on top when I hit the tripwire and it all went BOOM! I died, respawned at the base and ran back to try and recover my inventory (infernizer, water bucket, some iron, weapons, armor and such). But as soon as I crossed the second bridged and walked across the hallway, I found out the WHOLE area seems to be gone, and there is only a huge solid wall of stone (not cobblestone, but stone) where the entrance should be.
I, in my frustration, change to creative mode and tried to "break through" the wall and reach back the are to recover my inventory, but there's nothing. Is this a bug, or was the trap designed like that? Is there anything I can do to recover the area? Because if I can't recover it, I don't think I want to play the map anymore then =/.
There in the hallway there is a purple command block under the floor (at -657 80 78) that should teleport you ~39 ~34 ~-17. there used to be a long spiralling way forward and I thought it was just too tedious and it made the area drag on. Stand in that glowstone/stone hallway and do /tp @p ~39 ~34 ~-17. You will get into a identical hallway, only this time the other end is blocked off and the previously blocked off area is now the way forward. If you walk to the other end of the hallway you should get teleported back. (/tp @p ~-39 ~-34 ~17 if it doesn't work.) (also you need to be in survival mode to trigger those command blocks.)

Hey folks,
First off, thanks to RenderXR for making the map. I've been looking forward to it for a while now. Here's the first episode of my playthrough. Hope everyone enjoys!

As long as you have a pick you'll be fine. Just keep running...
Brian (Lorgon111) and I have recorded some commentary about Myriad(My-raid) Caves. Are you curious about some of the thoughts that went into making a map like this? Then I definitely recommend taking a look at this (rest of it is expected to air daily):
So, I admit. I let the "no automatic regen" mechanic in this map scare me. I never played beta Minecraft, before hunger was introduced, and though I'm a veteran CTM player, I was really not sure about playing a map without the hunger/regen mechanics that I'm used to. But that was my mistake; turns out, it's not such a bad thing. It has forced me to think more about my movements and stuff; rather than tanking damage, I have to try to avoid taking damage. It doesn't make the map harder, so to speak, just... different. I'm enjoying it very much! If you're wondering, I'm in the, uhhhh, mine area... I just got emerald 10. I'm having a great time on this map! Thank you so much for making it.

I wander through CTM maps, getting lost, fighting monsters, and somehow accomplishing things. I'm never too sure how, but I do. Come join me, pets!

Grabbed this map expecting a common ctm map.
Managed to trigger the gravel lava trap and survive (thank god for cobblestone)
Also triggered "quick sand" gravel. Escaped using one enderpearl from the speedrunner's kit.
You're a mean one mr render. I like it so far.
