semolous - It would be rather featureless and detail-less unfortunately. The mods in it are required for the aesthetics, if I could have done 100% vanilla I definitely would have but its rather impossible
Ludaeus - are you sure you put it into the vanilla folder in modpacks under the .technic folder? and overwrote everything when prompted?
I did everything according to the instructions. Does the Java version matter? BTW I love Project Red and Railcraft, two of my favorites and I can't wait to see them in action in Midgar

Re-read the bottom of my original post, I have a different way of installing the pack thats a bit more automated, you just have to drop the map into your saves folder. Let me know how that works out!
Hey man! I tried to download this via the Technic launcher link you gave us, however when I click the play button I get the following message:
Error downloading the following pack: Midgar Explorer

Please consult the modpack author.
This is actually the only way I can download the pack on my computer. Because Windows 8 is crap. Please fix this D: I want to spend some time with my friends making this into a Hunger games map! Which I would love to invite you to play on when/if I can download and do so!
I have everything installed fine, but the resource pack does not seem to be working right. I noticed in the screenshots some epic pictures of computers and the like, but using the gaia resource pack, I only see dispensers. Albeit, the map looks amazing as is, but I want to see it in all its glory.
Try contacting Achievement Hunter. They have a giant fanbase, and they have this show called "MegaCraft", where they show off things like this. If you want to see this get big, they'd be a big asset.
Heya Killer, glad to see this map was still going. I was worried that it would never get finished after Gaia Life was shut down. I haven't played much in the way of servers or even much minecraft since then. Did you replace the forge multipart blocks with something else? I know there where a lot of multipart blocks in the main lobby of Shinra HQ, is why I'm asking.
Okay, I'm in the map, and it's AMAZING. Great stuff... but how do I work the lifts in the Shin-Ra building? (the first place I'm visiting) There seem to be no buttons to activate them. (Mods are listed correctly in the Mods section in the Main Menu)
EDIT: I found the GaiaLife resource pack and installed it, and it's pretty cool but there are no graphical call-outs for the lifts added. Also I wish the music for each area played constantly (the train music (slow melancholy, don't know what it's called ), I guess, started up when I spawned a minecart on a redstone track section ) heh.
Same here. I have no idea how to use the lifts. All mods are working. I tried right-clicking the signs and nothing happened. Sorry, i'm new to this. Please help!

Same result if I don't copy the save folder first.

Great job man, downloading this when I get home,
Absolutely amazing and mind-blowing, by the way. Tons of respect.
