Description
Material Energy^3 is a minimalist modpack focused around Metallurgy, Minechem, and applied Energetics. You start in an already developed base, but with severe damage to parts of it. Rebuild and get a stable power supply up and running, then explore into the depths of dungeons in the AE spatial pylon area. Dungeons contain loot and materials for building as well as wools to complete the victory monument. As dungeons get progressively harder, master chemistry to apply toxins on your weapons and make pharmaceutical that are even better than vanilla potions.
Feeling like you don't want to explore into dark and dangerous dungeons alone? Well you can make soul-bound golems who will follow and fight for you. They don't spawn with any armor or weapons at first, but you can craft, enchant, and customize weapons and armor for your own squad of golems.
Over 150+ quests and more loot than you can possibly imagine!
RULES: There are none, break all the blocks you want and explore into any area. If you decide to play on peaceful there won't be much of a point to play the map though since the main challenge is to overcome numerous and hostile mobs.
Code: ME3
Press the pack code button on the FTB launcher and type in "ME3"
UPDATING: Use updates at your own risk, always backup your save. Since some of the dungeons have been updated, it is possible to get the most current version of them in the your save by going into your save file and deleting dimension 2+, and replacing those with the dimensions 2+ from the new template folder in the minecraft directory.

Sorry, the extra utility configs were not copied over for the newest update. You can use /hqm edit to get that quest, or go into the config and set the Deep Dark ID to 100, or wait for the next update, or do whatever you want.
I don't have too much of a problem with spiders myself. Sure there are lots of em but if you just kite them (keep backing up and strafing) they're not really too difficult unless you don't have any armor or good weapons. Iron is easy to get so once you're decked out in full iron you can deal with them easier, but it's better to just engage them tactically (use terrain to your advantage). Once you've gotten the better armor types then you can pretty much just tank them and keep mashing your left-click until they're all dead. But if you run into a room filled with too many spiders then you can either use a water bucket to slow em down or use a bucket of gelid cryotheum or lava to reduce their numbers.
For me, it's the dirt creepers that I find annoying. I can engage them like I might normal creepers (hit em once, duck behind something to reset their timer, and then run up and hit em twice to kill em), but about 1/3 of the time they do explode, usually a fair bit away from where I am, creating a nice big blob of dirt for me to dig up. I don't really care much for digging up the dirt they make.
I have a question though. There's a quest that requires me to go to the TOP of the nether, and i've made it nearly to the coords listed in the quest, but there's some bedrock that keeps me from getting to the top. How would I go about getting past the bedrock so I can access the loot promised in the quest description?

You can either build a nether portal in the overworld high enough so when you come through, you're ontop of the nether. Or use ender pearls to teleport through.
Any chance some one can tell me how to get the element Flourine as it can't be made using the Synthesis Machine and I need it for the Biotite quest. Also I would like to know what the Time Machine v2 does or is for. Thanks. Love the modpack and hope for more quests and stuff gets to be added.
Hey, I started playing your pack, and I recently finished the Polytool quest, when this started happening. A few notes, It only appears when I look in that direction, and I have tried relogging and dieing. IDK whats up.
Edit: Problem fixed itself. I just kept relogging...

Also, this is an awesome pack so far.
