Bored of your everyday survival series? Wish there was more suspense?
In this game, it prevents you from being a turtle and staying in one location. The world border moves 1-4x each and every day! You cannot build a long term base, and you have to bring everything with you!
Do you have what it takes to be Nomadic? Can you keep moving?

I really like this Mini-Game. I feel it does suffer from one flaw though, and that's how the worldborder moves. It really feels like it should be a subtle movement over the course of the entire day (which I believe is possible, and could be re-triggered at the beginning of each day, as you currently do), and that movement speed should be configurable. But that's just my opinion :). Excellent idea either way!

This is absolutely a planned feature (subtle movement), It will take a few extra bits of redstone, and commands, but this is very doable! Thanks for the Spotlight by the way!
Configurable speeds? Future Dev!
Changeable start location to something a little less of a mob storm? Future Dev!
Depends on how you play it! I was able to get through 3 days alive on hard difficulty! The key is to always stay near the front. Mine at the front, build your temporary place of residence at the front, and basically avoid that back area when it's anywhere near sunrise!

Interesting. Sounds fun.
Edit: played it, and its pretty fun. I like how you have to fight a lot more often.

Quick question guys, is it possible to make a rectangular border; that is, inequal lengths instead of completely square? One of my best ideas is hinging on it.

So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...

(It is released AS IS, and may not be 100% complete. However you are able to place this in any world in any position as the command blocks are based on relative positioning to themselves. Just be sure not to move the arrow away from the structure!)
I just played for like 6 days and there is one thing that really disturbes the gameplay. Everytime you go to sleep the border won't move, which means another day of of the exact same place. It would be really nice if you can fix this (maybe just moving border a bit later in the morning).
Beside this its a nice challenge! =)
Good to know, however, there isn't much I can do with this as the cycle is based on light level detector. If you sleep before it is "dark" night, then it won't detect that a day has passed. I believe you are allowed to sleep as soon as the sun starts heading down.
Hrm.... this does however give me an idea: Command blocks that block the placement/use/crafting of a bed? This would solve the border "pause" bug.
ALSO: edit to my last post, I have released the schematic AS IS.
1.2 Worldborder now moves 16 blocks 1.2 Duplicate arrow created (one houses the mechanics, the other is your visual cue) 1.2 Created an EMERGENCY ESCAPE button in case worldspawn fails 1.2 Bed Bugs no longer bite (bed usage shouldn't break timer anymore)

Had a ton of fun testing this with you Aub, here is the video I cut together for the pilot of the series on my channel-
Sadly I derped big time when it was time to record day 2 and got my recorded mode turned around. Ended up having three 15 second clips of nothing. It's all good tho, because we had already decided to restart with the newer version of the map next time we recorded.
Aubinator got the full session from his perspective, you can check out his video if you want to see what happens in day 2 of this map.
I'm looking forward to getting a fresh start with some bug fixes.
maybe you should add the option to disable beds or not (if you can disable them)
Beds shouldn't be an issue anymore. However please test to confirm

As for the "Impossible worldborder size, I was thinking a 25x25 area? Smaller? Any other suggestions?

wonder how hard it is to find donkey for the pack mule feature
Distance counter double counts in 1.0 (counts in increments of 30 vice the correct 15), so the distance travelled is half of this value!
This won't effect gameplay, so no requirement to download the new map if you have already started!
That's a great idea! Good thing there is a plains biome near the start! Fingers crossed you get a donkey spawn!

Glad you enjoyed it! Let me know if there is anything I can improve on!
I don't believe the worldborder's shape can be adjusted, yet... However with the bukkit plugin "world border" it is possible. http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/worldborder/
I hope you release the schematic soon (even if it is buggy), becauseI want to try this in an amplified world.EDIT: Thanks!
Amplified? oh man, amp up the difficulty!? Lol
I will release the schematic once I've squashed all the bugs and made a few improvements.EDIT: here is the schematic file...

True enough. I will see what i can do. I may have a better solution to this...
1.2 Worldborder now moves 16 blocks
1.2 Duplicate arrow created (one houses the mechanics, the other is your visual cue)
1.2 Created an EMERGENCY ESCAPE button in case worldspawn fails
1.2 Bed Bugs no longer bite (bed usage shouldn't break timer anymore)
