Dev, Update №10 (finally something important?) I was really busy yesterday, so it's a day later than usual.
Okay, it seems that I finally got some building done this week. I almost finished the monument area, (it needs just some finishing touches), and started the Pink wool area. Sadly, I wasn't able to finish the latter one, as I needed to finish another thing outside the map creation process.
I also came up with one concept for SP02. What if at the monument you'll be able to pray to one of three "gods", that would give you a lifetime, (only until you die), potion effect of one type? Either Speed, Haste or Strength. Obviously, it wouldn't be there for free. Firstly, you'll not be able to use Speed if you didn't open Intersection 3, and Strength if Intersection 4 is yet to be found. Also, to "pray" you'll need to have one of the special items that you would buy from the merchants.
I will see how this idea works out in the end, but at the moment I'm thinking about putting something like that in the map.
It seems that this one will be kind of a short update, so I'm gonna end it with a screenshot as always:
Dev. Update №11 (kinda depressing, not really)
So, I thought this will be a good productive week, even though I had my finals going.
Nope, this is not the time. Today, when I finished another area and just wanted to move it a bit in MCEdit, I got the most ideally timed power outage ever. It hit me right in these 3 minutes when the area was saved only in MCEdit's clipboard, I was pretty ed off, but thought that I had a backup not so long ago.
But lady Fortune strikes twice. The last backup was made 1.5 weeks ago, right when I started making this area.
The moral of this is that you should make backups as often as possible, so crap like this doesn't happen to you.
Now I have to remake this whole area all over again, but it's not that bad as it sounds like. I hope I'll be able to do it in 2 weeks or so. At the moment I switched to another area that is a lot closer to completion.
On a more positive note, I did more stuff around the monument area, so here is the screenshot of that:
Also, I had an awesome idea for Black wool, and now I know exactly how it's gonna look like and what will be the name.
Dev. Update №12 (woo, a dozen!)
Let's get right to it, shall we?
Remember me talking about "altars" that you could pray on and get lifetime buffs? They are officially in the map now. I got all the mechanics worked out and polished, and the last thing to do is to get some redstone in IntIII and IntIV when they are built. On a more building side of the development process, after that loss of an area last week I got my hands back on Lime Wool, and got a lot of building progress done there. So, I hope, next week or so I will finally be able to say "yah, I got another area completed!".
On an another note, the New Year is coming, and I have some stuff to release for it, (nothing big, I wouldn't be able to finish and fully test SP02 in 2 weeks). Because of that I might not be able to do the 13th Update next Saturday.
And now, let me give you another screenshot for the closing part of this update:
Really looking forward to this map, if it comes out soon enough it'll be my next lp fur shur :3
Thanks ;D
With the speed that I'm making progress right now, I think that I need at least 2 more months, but no promises - it might take more, it might take less. I always was a bit inaccurate with time. I just finished 75% of the Intersection 3 itself, so I feel at least some progress being made.

Well it all depends. Septum Immoriel is coming out soon, but that map is serious amounts of ROMhack hard so i doubt i'll wanna play it right after DsI. But if The Painter by Sketch comes out first i'll probably lp that first. And if Drago ever gets off his rear end and puts together DsD, that takes priority since i'm gonna beta LP that map for him
So my point is, its still probably gonna be SP 2 that i play first XD
I just finished playing Animosity and it was awesome! I managed to finish it with 9 death, not that bad.
Here is a screenshot of me in front of the monument : https://www.dropbox....03_17.44.23.png
Thanks for the kind words.
9 deaths is actually really good. I think I should replay Animosity myself, just to see how many times I can sacrifice my dead body before finishing it.
Dev. Update №13 (yay, lucky number!)
Because it's almost New Year, and I like number 13, I have a lot of things for you guys. Let's start with something different - Animosity just got updated to version 1.1. You can read full list of changes in the OP, but here is a short version: Added carpets in intersections Moved the entrance of the purple wool area Relooted almost all chests Nerfed some loot in second half of the map Fixed villager-alchemist and made his trades less rip-off-ish Added some decorative blocks around the map Did some more minor changes
The screenshot in the OP were also updated to match the new version.
That was one thing I wanted to finish before 2014, the other, as you might have already seen, is the update of the OP itself. One day, I was rereading the OP and started feeling that it is a bit plain, so, without too much thinking, I just remade all the graphics and fixed some minor stuff. I liked the way that the thread was laid out, so there wasn't any changes in that. Also, now there is a little epigraph, as you might call it, to SP02
Aaand now to the original theme of these updates - SP02 development process. I also wanted to finish as much stuff as I could, so I was on a little rampage of building this week. I managed to remake light blue wool and complete it, get some minor stuff around the whole Int1 done, finish the Monument area, restart and finish Pink wool and finish the body of Int3 itself. I wasn't quite able to finish Lime wool, even though I really wanted to, but I guess you can't get everything you want. If I'm gonna go at that speed, I hope I'll be able to finish it before March.
So now I can finally say that SP02 is officially 50% complete!
I think this is a good point to wrap this pretty productive update up, so we shall move to the last thing, to the screenshots. I though: "God dammit, this is a special update, I should get at least 3 screenshots this time". So I did:
^ This one is the spawn
Without me rambling even further, I wish you all Happy New Year!
See ya in 2014!
Awesome job. If the gameplay of the second map is as good as the first (which it likely will be), than that + the improvement of aesthetics I can see in those screenshots = one heck of a good map.
If you can't already tell, I'm really looking forward to it! Probably my #2 most looked forward to map behind Apollo's.
Dev. Update №14 (lazyass edition)
And I'm here with some stuff to talk about. Don't expect a lot, I want to be a lazy piece of meat for at least 1 week of this year. ;D
So, as expected, the first half of this week was basically nothing. But slowly I got to doing some stuff and almost finished Lime wool. I want to make it a place where player will explore a lot. Like, a Lot. Now the only thing left to do is to get loot and spawners in, and that should be a lot quicker that the building process itself(I hope). After that my plan is to make Gray wool area and connect it to Intersection 3. I also want to finally get the teleportation system implemented, or at least the first two intersections and the monument of it's functional. Actually, I might just do the latter one right now, just because after mentioning it I want to do it. ;D
I honestly think that there is nothing more for me to say, so let's keep it short and sweet with another screenshot, (gotta say, still WIP):

That's pretty cool, but I currently have only one map released (Animosity). The second one in the OP is the one that is in development right now.
