This is one of the most disturbing, frightening, yet overall best experiences I've had playing a map, along with the Staircase. This map hits hard, makes a wonderful (or should I say horrible?) experience, and creates a feeling of dread as you play. If I had to rate this map, I would give it 5/5. OH, by the way, you scared the F*** out of me with that last jumpscare. Great job!

Review Summary
It's a bit hard to say what I liked about this map without giving anything away, but I did have 2 moments of jump scare. Played in the dark with headphones. I like the overall theme and tie in with historical reference. The text in the books didn't really deepen the spookiness, but I appreciated the thematic writing. Interesting multiple endings. Love the tv set. My biggest problem is that it took me FOREVER (25 min) to find where to take the key. I had to turn to a regular texture pack and get rid of the blindness, figure that out and then restart the map. My problem was, I was always sticking to the walls and with the texture pack I didn't see where to go. The second biggest issue I had were the teleports when I thought I was about to go through a door - that took me out of the experience too often. I would say it was average creepy throughout - I don't think it got progressively more difficult nor scary. Slowness was a bit irritating, but not as much as tiny render plus blindness - I get it, that's part of the point. It's DEFINITELY better than some of the other "horror" maps I've seen where you're simply walking through a dark space with jump scare noises.
25 min to find the trapdoor, that was excruciating. I was filming with webcam up to this point, but then got frustrated and played the rest without.
Villager at bottom of steps got me.
All of the red heads were a little too cartoony, not scary. Too square.
The button and pressure plate teleports with fake doors were pretty annoying and took me out of the experience.
Energy machine was fun idea!
Great sounds, subtle use of gravel and other footstep textures without overdoing it.
Melon seeds made me chuckle.
I got lost for about 5 min after Anazareth, didn't find the stairs down.
At the end, I tried right-clicking 3 other places before I found to put the bible in the FLOOR. Not intuitive.

I'm glad you played it , and I'm sorry it really wasn't what you were waiting for probably, but I tried to make it as smooth as possible because of sounds playing in certain areas, so I had to separate them from a relative distance and I had to add the teleports. Anyways, I'm sorry it wasn't the great experience I was waiting from you , but I'll keep improving, thanks for the review!
Great map! Best horror map i've played yet!
Can't wait for more! //" target="" data-ensure-absolute>" frameborder="0" autoplay="false" allowfullscreen sandbox="allow-forms allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups">

The map can be completed without cheating; if you get stuck, try to explore a little bit more.
That's quite reassuring. I will try this map soon.

So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...

Most of the people take around 30 minutes to finish it... and just a few more than that.
All with command blocks

Yes, if a door can't be opened, then that's not the way to open it.
