Great map I must say. However I was quite disappointed by the "End" of it and I wish it just went on for longer. I do understand that maps like these are hard and time consuming to make but I expected a bit more. The mechanics and puzzles of this map are great though!

If you go into chat options and turn color off it will display it without all of the random jumble of letters and in a readable format.
Thanks for the feedback. You're sort of right, yes it is a bit short. But on the other side, the code I was a bit too long. After a while you just get bored, so that's why I made this shorter. (and I was out of inspiration to be honest xD)
I didn't think of changing the colors settings actually, that's really clever!
So I got to the huge WTF sign and put the numbers in the code checker. after that I was confronted with a cube that typed a bunch of jumbled letters. After that it teleported me to the beginning and everything was how it was when I first played the map. Is there more to it or did I finally beat this pain in the butt map

I must admit i swore quite a few times in this, a bit frustrating here and there, but overall an epic map. When i got to the end, i was like 'You son of a '
There it is, the sequel to the Code. If you haven't played that map yet, I suggest you play that first. If you have, don't expect anything like that map at all.
Sure, this map still has puzzles and is still made of quartz, but the long hallway with doors is gone, and there is no hopper to throw a code in either. What does this map have then you ask? Well, if I say that, I'm going to spoil a lot. Let's say I took the "Infinite" level from the Code, and made a new map from it.
Just some quick question here:
Do you still have interest in making a game out of theCode?
Because I think I could help you with that a bit.
I have a -very- small and simple game-engine (Written in Java like Minecraft) at hand, that is made to be used for something simple as a bunch of levels like in theCode.
I am not a good level-designer or anything like that (I am really bad in creative things),
but when it comes to writing tools (like a micro gameengine) I can do that in a week or so.
Write me a PM if you want to, since it would be good to keep such talks out of public threads.

PS: I usually code on 3 to 5 things (tools/mods/games/prototypes) at once, so I don't lose my sanity over a single thing. A second (very small) project right now would do me good currently.
Jesper, when you get to the (near) end of the map, that quartz block that changes to chiseled, pillar, etc. What is the sound name? (in this format: playsound @a <sound>.<sound>)

Yeah, I still want to make a game, but it was an idea of a friend of mine actually. He wanted to do it with unreal engine. But that's probably way to hard so maybe we'll use another engine (yours for example) I'm not sure how he thinks about it. It's probably an idea that will never grow into an actual game anyway. But if we ever start making that game and we need a simple engine, you'll be the first one I ask.

the command is /playsound random.burp @a ~ ~ ~ 1 0 1 (the zero is for the pitch, set it to 1 to hear the original sound)

Okay.
Also, are you going to do even more AntiChamber-like levels in the next theCode?
I love non-euclidian geometry!

Im a modder/programmer! I am on Twitter and YouTube, and some more I won't tell you about!
This has been indeed, one of the most beautifully hand crafted maps in Minecraft that ever has risen out of the forge. I might say it could stand up to its own. It feels like a separate game, yet still within the realms of Minecraft reality and amplifies how the possibilities of complex Minecraft mechanics can make a game that rivals a true production game.

Great map!! ;D
One question though: How did you get the mobs/minecarts to freeze? Did you just keep spawning spiders/minecarts with villagers and had them disappear quickly before they had time to move?

I explained it in this video:
It's a bit advanced though. Basically it's a spider riding a minecart that is not loaded because the minecart has very high x and z coordinates

Thanks tell me what you think of it once you played it.
Thanks for playing xD!

no you did beat it.
The entire map is actually an infinite loop.
This is my single walkthrough of the game!
Didn't think I was able to go through with it in half an hours time.
Still One of the most well designed games Evar!!!
Thanks! I'll put it in the main thread.
Thanks
I'm already working on the Code III.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Yup, Definitely, though I do want to keep some hoppers and papers in there. Other wise the name doesn't make that much sense anymore.

ahh so you found it eh...
