I tried to play the map without optifine (my computer doesn't run minecraft well). I had low FPS on the cake even with optifine.
I looked around the map and there was at least 50 mobs in the area.
I hope you make this map compatible with optifine and light under the arena better.

If you played it initially with mods, you will likely need to re install the map. If you have a slow computer I would recommend getting a friend to host it. Its way more fun in multiplayer anyway
I think the problem with Optifine is the weather control, I use command blocks to change the weather to thunder at the start of a wave. This makes the cake dark enough to allow mobs to spawn.

Every time I try to get on to download the map it says there is an internal server error and won't display the page. Hope this is fixed soon. I really want to get it!

Hahahhahaahahahahhahaha. I couldnt possible imagine finishing this on Mental, that last wave is INSANE.

The only way I survived that was being hit into the lava, then blocking in the lava to block 99.999999999999999999999999% of the damage. Possible exploit?

Maybe it's a gamerule you can try doing /gamerule doMobSpawning true
That should work.
