Forgive me if this has been asked before, but is Titan's Revolt planned to be objectively more difficult than Pantheon or just more balanced with a smoother difficulty curve?
EDIT: Also I agree with below, Colossus Devorantem just seemed unnecessarily huge. Plus it was laggy.
Objectively less difficult in some ways, but it's just being designed for a more balanced map with challenges.
Man, I must be REALLY late to this party, but IT IS FINISHED. PANTHEON HAS FALLEN. (Victory screenshots below!)
Stats:
Ingame Playing Time: 1.56 days (37.4 hours)
Mobs Killed: 6,462
Torches Placed: 8,727
Wool Monument: 19/19
Jukebox Monument: 12/12
Flowers: 2/2
Deaths: 0 (hooray!)
I'm really happy to be able to profess that I beat the map legitimately without any deaths, but boy was it not easy. I had a couple lucky saves from the void in Amlup's crazy stone maelstrom, and the charged creepers in three_two's area had me at one heart at lowest. I first played this map two years ago in its infancy and ragequit after the first two intersections. After playing through many maps of practice, and gradually getting better and better at Survival in general, I've finally beaten an old challenge - and deathless too!
Thank you for the amazing map team, the ROM-hack difficulty and colossal scale made the whole feat incredibly satisfying, and it was really good practice for Ragecraft 3! It brought back so much nostalgia from days past of dabbling in the Super Hostile series too!
I think if you beat this map deathless, you beat Minecraft forever.

I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.
So, it's been awhile. Rock has taken over the project from an organizational side, while I plugged away at real life and my responsibilities within the project. Now it's time to make some announcements:
Titan's Revolt
The map has all it's pieces, finally. They still need to be balanced, polished, touched up, expanded, and fully tested, not to mention the writing, but they're all here, and we're ready to go. It's not going to be much longer this time.
McWeaksause, the Titan of the Scarred - Monument, Intersection 2, Yellow Wool, Intersection 3
TheXhen, Titan of the Deep - Magenta Wool
Bonehead777, Titan of Reflection - Light Blue Wool
taschneide, the Fallen God - Lime Wool, Intersection 4
ElRichMC & KillerCreeper55, the Titans of the Aethergales - Pink Wool
Ragirk, the Titan of Secrets - Grey Wool
TikaroHD, Titan of the Underworld - Light Grey Wool
TheSketch,Titan of the North Wind - Cyan Wool
knaeroef, Titan of the Lost - A Secret Zone
Draco_Rogue, Titan of the West Wind - Purple Wool
Drago, Titan of the Shadows - Blue Wool
Xethyrious, the Chained - Intersection 5
Mattgeek1997, the Titan of Force - Green Wool
Mr. Indigo, Titan of Stone - Brown Wool
Rockenrollforlife, Titan of the Sky - Red Wool, Project Head
Csillagvihar, the Titan of the Flames - Black Wool, Brown Wool
The map will contain 16 Wools and 12 Discs. Get hype.
Discordancy
Discordancy has been changed a bit. Initially starting as a 16-objective wool Server-based collaboration map, I've scaled the map back to a 12-objective Disc map, cutting a mere one area to ensure we have enough zones for each Disc. There is also a series of Prismarine a player can collect to complete a bonus monument. A full contributor list will be gathered and added as soon as we know more! With any luck, the map will be out shortly after Titan's, as it only requires some shifting of areas around and some basic balancing now. Expect this baby in 2016!
I might wind up replaying the 1.8 version of pantheon, but for now I'm enjoying watching GOB. I love how, in the first area, the exact same thing happened to them as me: Out of resources, out of hope, ONE ZOMBIE drops ONE CARROT, and from there, with renewable food, progress is finally made out of the endless cycle of death. It's to the point where I think the Breadcrumb of Mercy should be somewhere in that first area as a tribute.
Never actually got around to playing this and have free time, minecraft, and an urge to attempt to not fail so I guess I'm doing this.
So far the start is pretty looking and the traps already killed me in a depressingly sad way. This is a pretty bad start but oh well. Rules area reached, death count 2 (one from trap, one from suicide after making a bed to regain food). Entering the first area led to a skeleton gangbang, wild running through, and then death.
Is there an expected difficulty of Titan's Revolt? Or will it be roughly the same as Pantheon? I'm definitely looking forward to it, good to know it's coming along.

Pantheon, in my opinion, was only difficult since it was unbalanced. I'm sure Titan's Revolt will still be difficult, but will also be far more balanced.

I'm happy progress is being made! I can't wait for Titan's Revolt. Keep going, brave mapmakers!
And yeah, Collosus Devorantum... was the 15 minutes of flat desert REALLY necessary?

So it's aesthetically done?

Looks great!
Woohoo! After all this time, Titan's Revolt is nearly finished!

You guys like TASes?
I freaking love TASes. Bout to sit down and watch this beauty!
It's about 99% going to be internal beta testing, followed by an open testing period.
I'm Hyped ! Any news about the open beta ?
Likely we'll see some stuff in a few months.

Nothing to announce I'm afraid

...I think this isn't going to be a good run.
Technically exists.
Some news with Titan's Revolt?
As before, nothing major to announce beyond that work is progressing! Amazing new speedrun though! I can't wait to see what you can do with Titans!
