-Tales of Dreadsky #1 - Dreadsky Isles has been fully released, and is compatible with Minecraft 1.5.2. However, it is currently incompatible with Minecraft 1.6.1. I will be working on an update soon, but until then, you must play it in 1.5.2!
So yeah, once I get back from camp, (I leave on Sunday) I'll begin working on the long-overdue update. Here's a little sneak peek of what I've got planned:
-Ender chests at every Intersection
-Added attributes on some of the Unique (and perhaps Rare) weapons
-Rebalancing of some later areas
-Better loot in certain areas
-New potion goodies!
Wow, that's quite the layout you've got there! Best of luck making all that.
As much as I like having creativity floating around, I think a post like that would be better suited for the CTM Community thread. This is primarily a thread for my map series, and over there we talk about a wide variety of mapmaking topics, so I'm sure they'd be open to hearing about your ideas.
(Side-note: We've talked about map length in that thread as well, and have concluded that there is no ideal or perfect map length. A three intersection map can be just as enjoyable to play as a five intersection map, provided the gameplay is fun and engaging.)
Also, nice attribute use. I'm still yet to get my head around them, but I can tell that your use of them will be fun :3
The majority of the custom mobs in the later areas (Pigmen in TDU and Everdark, Spiders/Feesh in AotW) are supposed to have higher health values than normal mobs, so yeah, that needs to be fixed.
Drago you did an AMAZING job on dreadsky isles! It was a lot of fun to play this map and I have to say that my favorite section was T.R.O.L.L facilities. Keep making maps!
As you can see, I'm finally finished with all of Intersection 02. I can finally solidly move on to Intersection 03 and not have to worry about never finishing older areas again. :3 Or at least until I abandon another area...
Also, for a while I was working on an I03 area (actually the transition area between I03 and I04,) and it's mostly finished, save for some spawner work and most of the detailing. I also started doing a teeny bit of work on the second area, but stopped due to reasons. 7/16 wools are currently placed.
And for those who are wondering, yes, Dreadsky Isles for 1.6.2 is coming eventually. For now, I feel really inspired work on Dreadsky Depths, and I would hate to funnel that inspiration to merely updating an old map. It will happen eventually, but I'm not actively working on it at the moment.
EDIT: so i thought i'd let you know that, with only 3 weeks left until the completion of my Spellbound Caves let's play, i'll be starting DsI very soon. Expect the first episode in about 4 weeks time (i'm taking a week break once i finish spellbound)

Sooooooooon.
To be honest, I haven't been working on DsD as much recently, due to working on that Project Ares map with Draco. Once we get things to a more solid state there, I'll hop back on DsD and finish up this area I've been working on. It's an area I don't mind screenie-ing, so you can expect a hangman puzzle when I do finish it!
Also, really excited about you finally starting your LP. If I don't update it to 1.6.2 in time, will you play it on 1.5.2?
@Poll I would like to test, maybe LP as well :/ Think of me as a test dummy, running through the areas so as to give somewhat good advice about balancing. Or something like that... Maybe I have played Dreadsky Isles with a friend, and that was pretty fun. Nevertheless, can't wait for the launch of this map
I think a closed-beta would be the best option if you want the best feedback from a group of trusted friends. I'll beta-test it if you want me to, and provide criticism.
about the poll: As much as I'd love for an open beta, closed is the way to go. This way you can pick people who you know will complete the map and/or reply with good feedback about it. That's my opinion on the beta testing.
Well, just for a bit of clarification, I am planning on doing both closed and open beta testing, a la what-Amlup-did-with-UT3. I'll be hand picking people to participate in the closed beta, and the poll will largely influence some of who gets picked, but I'll invite others who don't vote. Also, thanks to everyone who has voted so far! It's really nice to get such a big response.
(BTW, just because I put this poll up does not mean the map is close to release. I still have at least half of the map left to work on, and I honestly doubt I'll finish it before I get my new computer, which looks to be about two or three months off.)
lol i don't actually care too much whether i get the closed beta part or have to wait for the open, either way i'm fine. :3 (not to say i wouldn't like an early copy, since that'd be awesome for da utubes and stuff)
Also regarding my LP, i kinda want to play on 1.5.2 regardless because "augh ma gawsh hungey bar where u go ;O; " and "stupid social zombehz whai u hatin'? ;3;" and also "nooooo regen, noooooo...." and just in case that's not enough there's "WON POENT SIXES WHAI U SO LAGGEH!?! RAGEEEEEE FAAAACCCCEEEE" so yeah, that's my reasons.

Okay the first half of this I understand. Yeah, you've still got a closed beta spot, don't worry.
Concerning the poll, I would love to Beta test however possible, and whether I end up in closed or open beta, I will still record my testing. Hopefully I will finish Remote District 1 by the time DsD is released, so that way it will become my main LP at the time of testing.
Apart from that, the one thing I have been plagued with is having to wait for my farm to grow, which has slowed progress a lot, kinda annoying... ...just wish I hadn't had to wait for my farm to grow between each one Good to know, I'll probably add some bonemeal at the start of the map, and maybe a bit more food, to counterbalance the issue you were having with farming.
(by the way, deaths for me does not at all equal how much the map is beating me, I have been known to use suicide runs/backing into a safeish corner and dying if a situation looks bad, or just general idiocy, either way, being shot off TotD and LANDING ON MY BRIDGE from the previous island, that was just bad luck xD Haha, Rock did that on his LP. XD
Replies in bold. Glad you're enjoying, I look forward to any updates you post! I haven't had someone actively post updates in this thread for a while, which is sad considering how much I enjoy it and how helpful it is.

Looks great! Glad to see that you're back to working on DsD!
Amazing as always

Second half is like whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
you asked me a few posts back whether i'd be playing DsI on 1.5.2 or 1.6, and i was respond that i'd be playing 1.5.2 because of said reasons.
