Ok I have to ask: What is this zombie siege and how do I trigger one? I have 4 golems spawned in so that's a lot of villagers but how do I go about getting a zombie siege to trigger? I'd love to "end" the map playthrough fending one off!
Also pictures as promised!

My house - it's under construction! The idea to build up there came from my chat room on twitch!
Another view of my house + the mushroom growing area!

They are completely random. When villages were new, they occurred nightly it seemed. These days, they never happen. I actually made it a bonus goal because it seems to happen so rarely as to be nearly impossible to get.
Also pictures as promised!
I LOVE the house! Are you going to (or did you and I just can't see it) going to connect each little house together with catwalks or something?
For my world, I'm trying to decide between a log cabin and a brick house in or on top of a jungle tree.
I will be getting my new headset tomorrow (as in Wednesday Jan 30, 2013) and will resume my LP either that night or Thursday...whenever I find the time. (and family doesn't get in the way...>.< not wife and kids...its sad but true Mother and Sister >.< 25 year old guy still living with mother...no choice in today's crappy society unable to find a better job then delivering newspapers...It'd be a dream come true if Youtube becomes my career...as I am enjoying making these videos.) But enough personal drama, expect more Fun stuff of me surviving on Oceanblock real soon!

Sort of. I tried to get the big mushrooms to spawn as close together as I possibly could so I just used a couple stairways with brick stairs in between. I'll try to get a couple inside the house/outside the house pics up tomorrow. I did finish building it tonight on stream for the most part. I might decorate it a bit more yet but it was fun to build something so out of the norm for me. Usually I build a large sort of square house. Though I have also busted out a modern style house a time or two (if I still have pictures of those I'll post them up just so you can see them if you want?)
Also i started clearing out an area right under my villager housing to hopefully get golems to spawn into. I'm not real optimisitc it will work but it's worth a try.
I'm enjoying your let's play videos, and your designs. I really like the simple mob/xp farm with the killing slots, there are elements of that design that are worthwhile even for a full-size mob farm once you get water. My own xp farm design from my SkyBlock had lots of trouble with exploding creepers, and I think I now understand why.
There have been a couple of points that it might have been nice to see more of a large build, though. Like *POOF* here is a fully completed, working farm, and here are chests bursting full of crops, where a moment ago I had only one carrot and one potato. Maybe for some of them do a "fast-forward" through a large build rather than a cut-and-resume? It would have also been nice to see the water/signs method you used to push the iron golems down the hallway.
Here is episode 3 of my own Let's Play (not as far along as yours). I got 4 jungle saplings, and grew a giant tree!

well I can understand your thoughts but I just can't play the map for the short amount of time that I spend recording...but I try not to do too much...and I do say what I plan to do in my episodes and explain what what happened in between episodes! Making really long episodes also take longer to edit and upload...like my long one that was around 45 minutes or so...took just about 3 hours to upload. But as I make more episode and get more into making and editing the videos, the more ways I find to make fun videos. But I try to show everything, but not the boring gathering of resources, or just wandering aimlessly with nothing to do waiting for stuff to grow...I do have great plans for the rest of the series.
What I'm trying to say is, I'm trying to find a balance between what I do on-camera and off...because you aren't the only viewer to the series, and I actually want to attract more viewers to my channel...so finding that combination "fast-forward" shots with "cut and resume" shots is something that all video makers have to decide for themselves.
No, I understand, it has to be a balancing act. I just found that in a couple of specific places in Kranky's videos, it seemed like there must have been hours and hours and hours of work (as evidenced by the growth of crops) between updates.
Maybe there is another approach for large building projects: to stop recording for most of the repetitive work, but to resume recording for a very short time at some intermediate stages to give brief in-progress updates:
"Ok, here I've laid out the main platform for my village, the next thing I'll need to make is the outside wall..."
"Ok, I'm done with the wall, the next thing I'll work on is the houses for my villagers, which will look like..."
"Ok, that's done, and the villagers are starting to multiply, lets start on the iron golem spawning area..."
I actually think Kranky did a good job of that for his iron golem spawning area.
Anyway, I didn't want to make a huge deal of this, or overly criticize any one specifically, just something I noticed on a couple of different videos.

Thanks MT! Sometimes I like to keep it short and sweet and sometimes I like to talk. It really depends on the mood I am in that day/days while I am recording.
Something is up with my ep 4 video. I am getting a lot of views right now. In the past two hours I have received over 130 views. That is not normal for me.
"Feel free to use any resource in this map in any way you see fit. That includes anything on this block"
The book was on the block. You used it as you saw fit.
yes thats exactly what i was thinking
may i have some help on expanding the nether , i am out of thoughts T_T

I don't know of anything in particular. You can always build up a bit to get away from the lava. You can also do the same crouch-walk trick that works when building up high to keep you from falling, over the lava. It's a bit scary because you're squatting right over the lava but you won't get hurt.
On the 28th of January OceanBlock 4.0 got its 10,000th download. On the 30th, it got over 700 downloads which is easily the best it's ever got.
That's on you, the people doing Let's Plays and commenting here, and telling your friends and even those of you who are "just" playing it and, I hope, enjoying it.

No Problem 5th, I got a new headset, so i'll be recording another episode of my series soon. My advice on expanding under the lava...use a fire resistance potion...then you can swim in lava without any issue!
I just got to think of a design for a blaze farm, as all my other ideas won't work with how close to the bedrock the spawner is.

What I find amazing is the video I posted on the 29th has received 269 views so far. That is a ton for me. I wonder if they are all coming from your post 5th. You have almost 54,000 views on this post.
I have a design for a mob spawner that I want to build. The top is the normal pads but the collection point is going to be different. Also I am working on the village and making it easier to eliminate villagers. I want the blacksmith's. Right now I have one that will give me a diamond sword, but I want the pickaxe!

ya so true on the blacksmiths, as of last time I was on my Oceanblock, I've seen one with a pick (the same one I got my pick from), and i found one that has a sword, and one with each piece of diamond armor except for pants I think. The Priests are important too, as you can get Redstone from those...I think its the butcher that gives the saddles for riding pigs. Not sure if its priests or librarians that can give the enchanted books...but the ones that want paper is really nice as paper is really easy to get, same as farmers that want wheat!

Right now I only have one that wants paper. I extended my sugar cane farm and am trying to get a boat load of paper for the trade. I will keep in mind the other ones. I want to make a few redstone projects. I also have one that ones wheat for emeralds. I think it is time to extend the wheat farm!
As promised (though late) here's my meager mushroom house for you.
Bedroom:
Entryway:
Alchemy Lab:
Outside view:
Also I've got a spot in my house to put my Ender Egg in whenever I get around to killing the dragon. I do still need 2 ghast tears, a slime farm, and to kill the dragon. Other than that I think I've done all the "main" objectives". Waiting on a wolf to spawn in too... I don't think the small biome is helping me out there!
Also pictures as promised!
