It stumped me for ages as well. Annoying, since I saw the wall initially and was like "this seems weird...", broke a few of the blocks but unfortunately didn't break the right blocks. So never saw it. Spent an awful long time running around everything trying to find that damn gold x_x
That exact thing happened to me during my playthrough. I ended up having to load up a separate copy of the map to find the gold. I even missed the wall when getting the wool the first time.

A compromise between showing and not showing.
Spoilered for length, not spoilers. This is my decoding of this image. I think I've solved the puzzle!
Mm k. So, what we have here is a puzzle. You silly Map Maker, I know what you're up to. Let's begin decoding, shall we?
It looks like every frame is unique (or at least from a different angle), and shows off some sort of Garden Looking area over void with farms.
That reminds me of something I remember a while back... but I can't quite place it...
Maybe it's this? (Yes, I know this is from old Sync. Just noting similarities)
Mm k, so one final analysis. This picture has frames in it showing Wheat and Sugar cane farms. The design seems very circular. I highly doubt there's anything deadly here, or at least anything visible. So, with that being said... this is either one of two things. 1. A VERY fancy (Yet somehow bland) intersection. 2. The Victory Altar.
What now Xek? Can't keep your secrets for long, so you might as well just confess. Sync has never seemed so far away...
Also, it seems like the picture is scrambled as well. I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow. If I actually manage to piece it together, I'll post it here (Unless Xek says not to, then I'll just keep it to myself and laugh at you).
Quick update, picture isn't scrambled. I don't think it's compromised of a bunch of big pictures either. My best guess is that this is a large collection of small portions from Screenshots taken of this area. Either way, there's no easy way to get a clear idea of how the area looks, and I believe that's just how Xek likes it. For now though, I would like to point out that in some of the frames you can see something that looks to be a big pedestal. Also note how there appears to be multiple layers to the structure, with two being shown here (Bottom layer is Wheat farms and pathways, while the higher one is Reeds). Oh, and notice how only one main pathway is shown? I think it's safe to say that what we have here is our first glimpse at what we all dream of completing, the one, the only, the Victory Altar.
Are you sure? Some of them look like they fit together... I would take a closer look, but I don't have the time.
I'm pretty sure. Some of the images appear to be of the same thing, just a separate angle. Besides, I saw one image that appeared to connect to nothing else there. Maybe they DO connect, but I don't see it.
Wait... remember a long while ago where Xek mentioned something about a garden containing silverfish that eat your items when you die? Any possible relation to the sneak peek? (Considering the wheat) But then again, that was in I1, and he's probably at like I3 now.

Like, how long ago? I know he's restarted/remade areas quite a lot now. Besides, this REALLY doesn't look like a main area to me. The style just doesn't fit.
Ok, so I played Cinereal for a bit, haven't completed it due to derpage but located the record and most of the objectives. So far, it's fantastic. My computer I'm using at the moment is my derpy regular macbook, so I'm getting a bit of lag, but not as much as I expected. I'll have the final victory picture here soon, just wanted to notify everybody that another IN YO FACE Victory Picture was coming. See ya then.
UPDATE: Beat it.
Really fun map, looks great, plays great, all around fantastic. Only complaint was that for a map with a 7/10 difficulty rating, it was REALLY easy.
Wha hai dere errybudy, I just hopped back to say hi to the most masochistic people one the planet.
But seriously though, has Xek said anything on Sync?
Scrambled picture. And I'm not masochistic. That word doesn't even come close to describing what I am. I laugh at my own tears. I cry at my own laughter. I eat the souls of mapmakers, and spit them out because they aren't worthy enough.
I am... The Slime Lord. *Ominous Thunder and Lightning*
No but seriously, he hasn't said anything TO us, but he sure is alive. That much we know. Or some murderer is finishing Sync for him. But he's probably alive.
So I started playing Cinereal. Guess what? I totally miss the trade shop, find the filters, find the recording transcript, think it's useless, place it back. Record found. Run around aimlessly. Immense lag because of Geiger Counter.
Fast forward 2 hours, I finally have the sense to check out the invisible villager, and suddenly I understand why there are no fleecy boxes in the map. Also that I have resources for 4 wool already.
Now I'm down to 3 bread, and I just need the water...

And to think you're the person who made me feel bad because I missed the gold in Virdescence.
At least I now know I don't have you as a competitor for 1st Syncquential victory (An achievement that would probably be taken by either a beta tester, Xekaj, or Hybran anyways, not to mention I'll be taking time to enjoy the map and explore and build awesome bases and stuff, so yea nevermind).

Ah, still sore over that, I see. I thought I made it rather clear that I wasn't a CTM expert right from the start. Also, do I get credit for completing the map legit in that state?

Lol. I was kidding.
And yes, you do. Especially with the Hunger effect being in the sewer area gives you. You must have had little to no bread left by the time you got out. Not that it's a very big map, but you know.

The problem was kinda compounded because of local server lag due to command blocks running the Counter. The zombies were sprinting / standing still for periods of up to 20 seconds each, and they almost never dropped anything.
Also, I broke into the spare supply of one potato that one of the zombies dropped.
Few questions:
1) I destroyed the zombie spawner at the fountain. Why still so many zombies? I can't find (too risky) the spawner near the staircase teleporter because there were too many of them.
2) Did you get any lag?

1. I never attempted to break the spawners, actually. I found it much easier to sprint by them. But I also had food for days, so. I'd guess there's maybe a wide range spawner somewhere in the central tower, but I'm not sure.
2. Yes. Noticeable but bearable. My max FPS was about 40, and the lowest I ever got was 10. However, I also played it on just my regular Macbook, not my super computer that runs everything ever, so I'm sure it could be better.

Cats making CTM maps? The community just got better.

Anyways, so that was the first post on this thread for a month. Good to know people are still here.
Nope, the most masochistic people are those that play Pantheon.
Says me, who played Pantheon for 12 hours straight before ragequitting at I2.
That explains it. I thought you were just trolling Cubi be speed running everything he speed ran. Also what happened to his old channel?
