DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO SAVE A NATION FROM THE MOST DEVIOUS SURPRISE ATTACK SEEN IN CENTURIES?
CAN YOU FIGHT FOR YOUR HOMELAND AND DRIVE OFF THE TERRARIANS?
WILL YOU BE THE HERO MINECRAFTIA NEEDS?

______________________________________________
It is another day in my life in the small town of Littlewood, and all is well. Littlewood is my hometown, best known for being a resting point for travelers and merchants on their way from Veldam to Oclidian City and vice-versa. My occupation is merely a man for hire, doing miscellaneous jobs for the few townsfolk. I remember that Preacher Reynolds had asked me to see him this morning about something regarding visitors. I should head there now.

Thank you for checking out my newest map! It has been in development on and off since Summer 2011, although I will keep adding more. This map features not only a main quest, but multiple side quests for those needing that extra stretch of adventure! And remember, there are rewards to be found if you venture a bit off the roads! Caves with melons surrounding them have treasure! Indirect lighting may mean something is there!
If you liked this map, please consider taking the time to send it to any of your favorite LPer's! It would mean a lot!
Please let me know what you thought afterwards in the comments! It helps me improve the map and it keeps the topic alive!
Although it is not required to understand the storyline, this map will be much more enjoyable if you have experience with the game Terraria, seeing how there are many points in the game where it is referenced.
"The best adventure map I have ever played. Perfect for those who like to meet characters in a RPG fashion and not just a narration of signs. I hope you continue to make more maps in the future!"..."9/10"
I DO NOT OWN THIS TEXTURE PACK. ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER/CREATOR.
PLEASE READ:
This map contains notes that range in size from small to gargantuan. Because plenty of people find this boring, I have made a TL;DR (too long; didn't read) section in most notes for those of who aren't in the mood to read a wall of text every time they progress in the story. So keep in mind that if a note looks too long, you can just scroll down to the bottom and you will have a shortened summary of what the note contains. But if you wish to fully experience, understand and immerse yourself in the storyline it is recommended to read the notes all the way through. Have fun!
This post is to keep track of what is currently happening with updates.
Sadly, since the introduction of all the new features for adventure maps, this map is largely outdated, and it's too large to overhaul. So my time will go towards working on Worlds Cross instead of updating TTI any more. Sorry if this disappoints anyone, hopefully I'll make up for it in quality with Worlds Cross
After playing the map, I have this to say. The story is nice, though the notes that you read could be shorter.
The buildings lack character. They are all basically the same layout, and are all square. to get around this I would suggest looking at the Imperial World or The Tourist(The Tourist)
also, I would put in a point system, or hidden chests. And the distance between cities is rather large, so I think that when you're traveling between cities, you should be aloud to break blocks such as dirt, wood, sand, etc. just so that you can create a checkpoint without worrying about dying.
other than that, it is a great map! and these are all merely suggestions, and the final decision is of course, up to you!

Thank you! I will definitely work on the buildings, after you pointed that out I realize a lot of it is kind of bland. I'll look into those two maps, they seem really interesting. I can't really write the notes shorter without making it seem a bit short of effort on storyline (And I'm really trying to pay attention to the story), so I'm not sure if I want to do anything about that. Thanks for playing!

oh, and after reading your comment again, you say hidden chests? I did hide a number of chests, that shouldn't have been a problem. Maybe make them more obvious/put more in?
Seeing how 1.2 is coming out in a matter of a few weeks, I will be waiting for that to come out to improve upon the buildings. Those new stairs and half block functions will be the cherry on top.
Updated for 1.2!
Changelog isn't that big, but I'll go ahead and do one.
-Made buildings a bit nicer, made more important buildings flashier
-Veldam now has a fancy centerpiece thanks to the new height increase
-Some typo fixes
-Put some upside down stairs on some buildings for added aesthetics
-Public Forge in Oclidian (You can use this to get rid of any unwanted items)
Next up I'm going to start working on experience fountains (places that if you find you will be rewarded with experience to spend on enchantments) and I'm going to attempt to shorten some of the notes.
And sorry I couldn't really make all that many buildings less blocky, it's just that I would have to rethink the architectual structure of most of the towns. Maybe in a new update?
Played this with a few friends. We had tons of fun, although we didn't strictly follow all the rules. xD
I'll link a Let's Play once I've edited it all.
Thank you so much! It means a lot, and believe me I don't really care if you broke the rules... I've never played a map where I haven't. But anyways take your time posting the let's play, time doesn't matter, just that you took the time out of your day to make it.
And if you wouldn't mind saying, how long did it take you to complete? I want to say the approximate time in the topic so people know what they're getting into.
Updated map to take advantage of the new redstone lamps... added different types of little lamp posts for each town based on it's theme.
Sorry that the map file is getting so big, it's just that Anvil made all of it waaaay bigger than it should be. But it also made Veldam prettier, so there's an upside. Just going to be a long download.
Cheers!
Edit: Also fixed a problem with SPC, last time I didn't take off instantmine or fly so that might have caused problems.
Just added a minor update, changed some chests to be more "multiplayer friendly". Added more sets of armor/weapons in each chest but also added reminders that you should only take one per person.
That was pretty awesome considering that I haven't played very many custom made adventure maps! Just make sure the way to...
(SPOILER ALERT!!!)
Terraria, specifically the caves and such, are a little more 'straight forward' as there were a few holes where I think I would have to go, but it would usually be a useless hole.

So I should work on the ending cave entrance? I was trying to make it seem a bit strange and confusing, as the concept was it was a land where nothing is familiar.
Edit: Nevermind, I understand what you mean. I'll get to that as soon as I'm back at my house, thanks for the feedback!
Updated the map so now there are a lot less caves sticking out in the section where the 1.8 generation started, that may have been misleading so an apology to all of you!
I hit 200 downloads and 1000 topic views today, so I couldn't be happier. If there are any little tweaks like this you want fixed please bring them up and I'll do my best to fit them to the community's needs!
While we're talking about caves, I decided to add some more caves to add to the whole adventure bit of the map! I'm thinking maybe the rewards should be a bit better, but for now I'll keep it as is.
