Loved it start to finish, the closest things to downsides it had were the massive travel time (it still made the map feel bigger in a cool way) and the fact I spent half of it tabbed out reading notes (written books should help with that when those come out, and I did really like the story)
Pros: the map was amazing! great job! it had a really great story and the settings were awesome!! characters were believable and chests weren't overpowered. A lot of hard work went into this map and it was great, even the optional quests were great! My favourite was the Optional Note Y quests, the one with the pigmen, yes great job!
Cons: A little confusing at first on how you went from just delivering a message to join an army in a matter of minutes, also this map would be really confusing for someone who hasn't played terraria before.
Overall AMAZING map! best map I've played in a while!
Dude...THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME
Story: Awesome
Characters: Awesome
Buildings: Awesome
Script: Awesome
Secondary Missions: Awesome
How much things to explore: A lot. Awesome
I enjoyed all the 10 hours I spend in it (I got lost three times...oh, and the Elder Tree...it was quite annoying). I really, really love this map. So much, that I would marry it (?)
There is only one thing I didn't enjoyed that much...I got confused with the last part. I throught I had to go down the chasm...and I got lost, I died and I hit my face with the table. I had to use creative (I wasn't going to grab all my stuff again. They got burned in lava) and finally I came to the conclusion that I had to follow the holes, no going into them.
The boss battle was just...damn...one of the best boss battles ever (But I got lost in how to defeat him, for a second I throught I will have to destroy his tail and go INTO him)
And...if you prefer, skip to now
It is awesome

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
And I gotta say... 10 hours? Holy crap.
And yes, I'm trying to reword the instructions to the boss battle. It's a bit confusing.
Also, the map hit 2700 DL's today! So close to 3000!
Well I just finished this map and let me say It was AWESOME! One of the best maps I've played so far. I thought the quest system was well thought out. The story was amazing too. A very clever plot. Good job!

Thank you, it means a lot! If there's anything you would've changed please check out the poll in this topic, I'd love to get as much feedback as possible before the next update (if you haven't already, of course).
Oh, wow, I forgot to mention... Added a table of contents a bit ago, now it should be far easier to get yourself around the topic. I think I'll start working on a way to navigate back to the table of contents from the bottom of each chapter... That'll be tonight's project.
Edit: Well that was quick and easy! Navigating the topic is easy as ever, there is a link at the bottom of every section to return to the Table of Contents.
haha just noticed you added my review to the topic lol!
Of course, anything that makes people want to play the map more helps, and you had a very positive review! By the way, when is your map going to be finished? Or is it playable now? Seems like it's pretty interesting, I want to give it a try.

Great news, everyone!
The newest update (which will include books, signposts, and a lot more changes) is almost here. But that's not the main reason I'm posting.
As of today, I have joined the team of stellar mapmakers that are working onProject C. Among us are...

While I don't believe I should release information about Project C that isn't on the forum topic, I do believe it is something to look out for. We've barely started and I can already tell it's something that will be remembered.
Recommended this map to a friend the other day, he says he absolutely loves it! So excited to work with you and the others on Project C it is an honour!

Review Summary
A 'classic' adventure map from Feb 2012, relying on external notes and self-enforced quests to tell the tale of Terraria invading Minecraft. Literally. To be honest, the Terraria part really doesn't come into play until near the end, but I appreciated the overall theme. The external notes are very well written, and I enjoyed the TLDR summaries (in case you don't want to read the long narrative). The visuals were pretty good - attention to detail on the major landmarks. My biggest complaint is the walking. LOTS and LOTs of long walks back and forth across the country, usually following a clearly laid path. The main combat challenge was in the first few caves with spawners and naturally spanwing mobs in the darkness, prior to getting decent gear. After that, you could use beds to make all of the traveling safe, and few indoor encounters were straight forward. Gear progression was fine. But the map also relies on several parkour challenges that could be pretty tricky.
Total Rating: 11
Innovation - 2
Detail - 2
Experience - 3
Challenge - 3 (I rounded up on the strength of the parkour)
Progression - 1 (I rounded down due to all of the long walking)
Total Playtime: 3.5 hrs

Detailed Playthru Notes
These are my raw notes that I took while playing the map, intended to help me remember what happened for my review, but also of interest to the map maker for future improvements
curious to see the Terraria references
External note files - fond memories. Note 1 is well written.
The priest wants me to steal
Even though the buildings are fairly one-textured, there is some attempt to add visual detail inside.
Planted a lot of wheat in the town, just in case. Not sure if food was a necessity when this map was made.
Ah! Nevermind. Pigs!
Well, have pork - not sure where to cook it yet tho...
Cleared the optional cave.
Noises in Abel's house - is that an intentional sound effect? Cool.
Spawners are a little too obvious, but i appreciate the melons (on the way to Oclidian)
There's a (natural?) cave near the bridge. Not sure if it's intended to be explored... checking...
Yep. Spider spawner.
Oclidian city walls look decent.
I like the TLDR (summary version of the notes)
Notes are really well written.
Hmm... skeletons in 1.6.2 are nasty business when only wearing light armor. Not sure I'm going to do optional quest 1, but let's take a peek...
ok that was easier than the last cave due to lava light. Much better gear now!
Although it makes the gear in the new guard tower (which looks nice enough) useless
Oh. Did I miss these ruins on my way up, leading down into ground?
Ooh! Now this looks really nice.
Went along the balcony, then over the rail and down to the last chamber, but now I have to fight back.
That was rough. Fire aspect sword wasn't a good idea. Flaming zombie lit me up. All of his friends swarmed me.
Spider cave near Gladevale path. I kinda like these sidequests.
Hmm, not sure that sword was worth it. Bane of Arthropods, but you don't get it until after you've already cleared the cave.
Really low on torches now - hoping to pick some up in Gladevale
Is this someone
whispering to me as I enter town? (sign)
Have to pause outside Lumin's tomb
Parkour?
Falling sand/tnt maze.
Uh... I got to the far corner and one of the TNT fell onto the obsidian - the whole room blew up!
Can't tell if that was a bug or planned, not sure where to go...
Ok - found it. Pretty sure that room wasn't supposed to destroy itself and water pour in from above.
Terrarian plague? Should my character know more about the background of the corruption in Terraria? Seems like you skipped over a little background.
Not really sure what the use of note 11 is, seems like extra story. We'll see if Jorgen becomes important later I guess.
What's this giant tower out behind the new guard tower? Looks cool inside and out - I think I should wait until later to go in here? And a graveyard. Now I'm really off the path.
Ok - crossroads to Occolum (this map is huge)
Occlidian sewers under bridge -
I'm mostly going to ignore all of these side quests now and try to experience the main storyline.
LONG walk back...
jumped in the well
Whoa - what is that thing in the sky? I think that's from the screenshot but at this angle i'm not sure what it is.
That took a while to find the king.
OMG! Now I have to go ALLLLLLL THE WAY back to Lumin's tomb? Ugh!
Looks like I skipped a city and graves
Oh wow - this is going to take a while (3 ingredients)...
This is easily more than 2 hours.

Good grief - have to go all the way back and past Oclidian. I'm sorry, it's just too long to walk back and forth - I'm flying in creative mode. I propose adding a 'fade to black' teleporting command block at least to Oclidian, to cut out the walking. With beds, I could just keep it day and have no challenge along the way.
Tree looks decent
Hmm, a common parkour challenge. Not sure how that equates to the lore 'it may have been taken or sunken in to its surroundings' I was expecting something ele
And now back to veldam.
Not much to say here. Back to Lucius.
UGH!!!! Back to Veldam again.
Sorry - Im probably going to play the rest of this in creative mode. I like the writing, but the travel is simply not entertaining.
"Something strange has happened to the landscape..." What? The snow? I don't see anything...
I have to be honest, I really don't see what this has to do with Terraria other than a few names/references.
Uh - I see a giant present...
Ah - Trojan Horse? I'm entertained by the idea here.
Very interesting use of note to justify 'waiting' until night. I will miss TLDRs, I really liked the summary.
Description of the Terraria guards made me chuckle. Although I wish there was some way to actually represent them in Minecraft. Retexture zombies with only the front maybe.
OH! I get the glass walls. It's a 2D world now. I thought this was just part of the gate at first.
I like the Terrarian trees, but the land outside the glass ruins the effect. I would delete all of those chunks for at least 300 blocks in either direction, or replace it with Terraria-looking landscape/trees/etc...
parkour
portal
Uh - came through the 2nd portal to a random(?) hilltop. Where to go?
I see a cave with some moss stone and chests. Wait... this looks like a naturally occuring dungeon? I don't think this is part of the map... Back to the portal.
Ah - some purple wool something in the distance... note 20. I guess this is right. I didn't see this at first (normal render distance) due to chunks not loading. I'm surprised you didn't give us a clear path, like the prior sections?
Oh - I didn't realize this was an Eater. I couldn't see the head from here - I thought it was just some kind of weird stone outcropping or something. I see it now.
I... climbed up onto the tail, but now what? Am I supposed to go inside it? Not hollow.
Am I supposed to climb along the tail? Looks that way. I enjoyed 'playing along' with this part.
Just realized - am I still in Terraria world, or back in Minecraft world? It's not 2d anymore.
Aw - I was hoping there was more tnt hidden in the Eater's body so it would blow to pieces.
HOLY CRAP THIS MAP IS GREAT!!!

When I arrived to the Royal Guard Tower, I couldn't see any paths at all. No smooth stones, no cobbles, there's not even a path of anything.
So hope you can give a hint to me. Thanks so much.
