Yay Amalon! Finally, the new map is out! I PM'ed you about it, but I figured you'd like a topic bump too. Your thread really deserves more replies.
Thanks Isaac. Cutthroat Caverns is definitely a lot better than my first map, which was just an MCedit test. In this map, I actually knew what I was doing. :tongue.gif:

Ah man, no one's posting on your thread. :sad.gif:
I am now sad.
All the work I put into making an end-game fortress in the end dimension within Cutthroat Caverns was deleted, because I deleted the level.dat_old, session.lock, and spc files from the save. (Edit: This wasn't actually the problem.) To anyone who has downloaded Cutthroat Caverns: There is no black wool in your save. I apologize, and I will attempt to remedy the problem. *sigh*
Edit: I have swiftly found and repaired the issue. I had actually deleted the DMI1 file, which contained all the information of the end dimension. Luckily, I had kept it in my recycle bin, allowing me to reinstall it into the Cutthroat Caverns save. Once again, all versions downloaded before this post contain NO black wool. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Watched King Newbs video of your first map..wow, your intent to kill the player makes GLaDOS look shy :biggrin.gif:
Really looking forward to the map now :tongue.gif:
Oh, don't worry. Malicious Isle was made to kill the player as much as possible, with as many traps per square inch as possible. Cutthroat Caverns is a bit more... conservative.
Unfortunately, with the new Anvil format for Minecraft, your new map does not work. I suppose I will downgrade to 1.1 to play it. :smile.gif:
Yeah, sorry about that. Cutthroat Caverns was originally intended for 1.0, but during production minecraft changed to 1.1, and now that its released, its almost 1.2. Maybe I should add a minecraft 1.1 .jar with every download, free of charge. :tongue.gif:
Uploading part two now so look for it in about 8 minutes.
I believe I've played another of your maps but not on this thread. I can't recall which one, though. I do remember that I liked it, and I liked the isle too, even though I died horribly. The traps were cleaverly constructed, and placed in well concealed spots, which I hated and loved at the same time lol I did continue playing after the recording but I may have put it on peacefull a time or two :biggrin.gif:

Awesome, I always love it when people make videos of my map(s). :smile.gif:
Also, I've never made any other maps than these two, so you must have me confused with someone else.
It... doesn't. When it tries converting to the Anvil world format, it just gives the "saving chunks" message for eternity. So, until further notice, Cutthroat Caverns can only be played in 1.1.
All right... I've decided to create a new world in minecraft 1.2, then import all the chunks from Cutthroat Caverns directly into it. The only different results should be different colours of leaves/vines, and maybe an increase in percipitation.
[Edit] I'll also use this time create an alternate version of the world in hardcore mode, in case you are crazy up for a greater challenge.
[Edit] This will come later, as working with the Nether and End dimensions is very difficult in Hardcore mode, especially without SinglePlayer Commands.
Update: Only 1 area left to make on Cutthroat Caverns. (Yaaay!) Can you guess which colour of wool it will have?
Thanks Bogiga.

Yeah, the problem with using a current genre of maps is that you're always going to sit under someone else's shadow.

Yeah, Amalon, meet Footissimo. He's the guy I convinced to play your second map. :tongue.gif:
Together, Foot, Amalon, and I make the threesome of... I don't know... weirdness? We need to think of a name, or something.
Super Hostile maps I've completed: Spellbound Caves (Yeah, I pretty much suck.)

Trio of weirdness? Its not that weird, we just have a common interest of CTM maps.

Now why would that happen?

I will provide feedback once I finish playing.
Alright, just make sure that you are playing in minecraft version 1.1, otherwise the maps will likely crash.
Yeah I am. New versions never work for me.
