I'm bumping this topic because it really shouldn't get lost in the sea of maps. Amalon, these are really good maps, and they deserve recognition!
You also seem very skilled with MCedit. Would you mind maybe PM'ing me some of the methods you use to create natural-looking caverns? I know a few methods, and I'm not a noob at MCedit, but everything I make still seems to come out looking like a big circle.
The way I see it, the point of MCedit is to make everything out of circles and squares, and then make it look like you didn't make it out of circles and squares. :smile.gif:
Okay, after a huge delay while we finished our playthrough of Guude's 404 map, I'm uploading episode 01 of The Malicious Isle right this very moment. In about 1 hour it will be available and I'll embed it below.

Thanks for the bump! Sure, I'll PM you JUST after I watch Kingnewb's Episode 01.
Keep in mind that maps should be fun and not just challenging
Yeah, Malicious Isle is supposed to full of traps and pain. As I was limited with the space I had provided for myself to build in Malicious Isle, I just wanted to put as many gut-wrenching death traps as possible. Don't worry, cutthroat caverns are intended to be fun and fancier. Its sort of like a harder version of Spellbound Caves.
Heh, you know it hadn't even crossed my mind about the snow block. This one will make you feel better about our progress, Amalon. It's a (spoiler) DISASTER.

Good thing the immortality armour survived. That trap involved the breaking of soul sand *COUGH* Usr1k *COUGH*, and the falling of gravel.
Awww, it's so sweet that you think we had ANY idea that the armor was for a specific purpose. I'll say this... I know now what it was for. :wink.gif:
Yup. The armour itself is way too over-powered, but I think its necessary for the later dungeons. I actually made this above-ground dungeon as an afterthought, and it was intended to be conquered after getting at least the netherrack. But the way you guys did it was fine. :smile.gif:
Episode 04, in which we discover just how long this "invincible" armor will last, among other much more horrible surprises.
-snip-
I almost died laughing while watching usr1k have the glitch spider crawl across his head!
And I was on the edge of my seat waiting for you to trigger a specific trap, but alas.
Haha, all those ores... You see, the ores weren't carefully placed because it was originally a "survival island". But, since I'm lazy generous, I left them. Expect to find a lot of ore veins on this action cruise.
Solely from the name; I'm assuming your new map's going to be pirate-y, smuggler's caves, maybe even Caribbean voodoo?
If so... that's awesome! Surprised no-ones ventured there already really.
And although admittedly MI wasn't to my taste, I'm still very much looking forward to playing
and maybe Let's playing... Who knows?
Cutthroat Caverns.
Here's a bump for you!
Thanks man. Cutthroat Caverns has many different themes to it (similar to Vechs' Legendary), but it does have a slight feel of traversing multiple styled coves. The map was originally going to be a large cave with a very high-ceiling full of lots of water along the ground, so boats would be the main form of transportation. A smaller area of this map, the unforgiving grotto, has this feel to it, but I still may keep this idea on hold for a future open-world map.

Finally! I've been waiting so long for this. :smile.gif:
And yes, this is a terrible, terrible, evil map.
And also... what kind of map -doesn't- have cave spiders at the start? :3
Keep up the good work, guys.
Yikes! I didn't realize all the issues. Also.. It snows? D:
That makes the snow block way to easy to get for the monument...

Great editing in this video! The music fit very well. Thanks for uploading.
We'll be done real soon, I'm sure of it.

Haha, and where you're going... you're soon to find one.
