Amalon, are you still worked on the new map, or has it been abandoned?

Amalon, are you still worked on the new map, or has it been abandoned?
2 out of three maps have been abandoned (sorry!).
One has been only temporarily abandoned, and is a PvP map, not a CTM map.
The other one just wasn't fun to make, and was incredibly hard to get the way I wanted, so I stopped working on it. It's still something I want to do, but I'll have to completely re-make once all the cool mapmaking updates slow down a bit.
Amalon, I'm having bad frame issues at this location just before the 1st intersection. http://puu.sh/1P3UI
I'd start lagging when I got right by that fenced area, then I'd turn back and the lag would stop. I do not think it's something with my computer... but rather the map. Any ideas?
I'm pretty sure that I've adressed this issue every singly page for the last 5 or 6 pages.
"the issue is that the abundance of ender crystals in a block space derps with the lighting at a super fast rate, creating constant lighting updates and lag. The issue came up in 1.3.2, which the map shouldn't be played on anyways. To fix the problem, you need to go in and shoot the ender crystals with a bow or something."
Hey Amalon,
I just got through with Cutthroat Caverns. It was the best map I've played. Great work. I've played all of Vech's maps and this tops all of his as for as having fun throughout the entire map.
Oh yeah and I got the black wool in 10 minutes after I stepped into the bastion. I ender-pearled all the way through.
So I've downloaded Cutthroat Cavens last night. It looks prety good so far. I really waiting fot the "hard" part to kick in, though. This map seems easy so far and I'm at the Mounument already. I'm excited what this map can bring. But as long I'm here, I'll give some humble feedback of my playthrough.
Bedrock Flats:
The ruin I spawed in seems like the design in SH# 10. But despite that, I loved the canal ideaaround spawn. I fell in a bunch of times though .
I thought it was creative to give players wood by using planks as the flooring. I didn't immediately go for wood though, I went around exploring. After getting the Combat Supplies, I got the hint that you wanted me to light up the coal dungeon. I tried lighting up the Coal Dungeon, taking nothing but a few torches at a time. It was impossible. Needless to say, I died. Alot.
I got for reals this time and got around making some tools. It was gtting nightime by then so I created a shelter undr the ruins. I got tons of wood from that and that iron sword . I set off in the White Wool Dungeon next day, after creating a wheat farm. I did pretty well clearing the windnig corridors (you've got to exuse the spelling here, my keyboard quality is not that awesome), but when I got to the Spider Room, the amount of spider spawned was so great that I had to resort to Team Tunnel Rat. After digging to the roof, I stopped. Red moten magma drippng from the ceiling. I'm incompellable to derping when it comes lava and mobs . And when I dep around, nothing good ever happends, Yeah. I died. buring most of my items.
I took a break from this map for a day. After I came back, I took a break from the fighting and wool gathering part and I worked flattenig the outer of whiter wool dungeon. I have a bit of Zisteauness inside of me . Then I regeared and reattempted the dungeon. This time, made everything alot nicer in the dungeon, while still resorting to tunneling. The 2nd room didn't have a lava roof, so I channeled the lava from the first room to the second. I didn't do that too much because I didn't want to burn the bookshelves near the magic enchanter. Once I thought the room had enough light, I jumped down from the roof and disabled the 3 spawners (The creepers blew up their own. LOL). I didn't feel like the loot was too overkill. Except the 2 chestplates and the manpants. That could've made the Gate of Ilusion really easy.
The next room was the wool room. I've seen the Glass-Above-Lava-With-Holes-in-Them thing before, but I really expected all Creeper spawners in the room. But oh well. I put all my items in a chest, but forgot to take off the diamond chestplate though. I was so close to the wool when the Arthropod bumped me into the unforgiving bubbling doom. And I died, losing 30 levels. Dangit! I got the white wool easily the next time.
I would balence the difficulty of this first dungeon. Too much variation of the spawners.
Gate of Illusion
First, I would like to complement on your design of the corridor leading up to the actual area. Your use of spacing and colors were great. I also likd the redsone ore inside the cavern. I didn't fully explore this area so I'll have to come back. I think the double slab across the cavern was amazing. I conquered the castle first. The castle exterior seemed a bit too big for the interior though. The rooms were small but looty. This wool, personally, was easier than the White Wool. I expected more spawners and more feesh blocks. I didn't expect both traps on the bridge and in the cavern. I didn't die though. I think the six spawners were a bit over to conquer. I skipped it bytunneling, again.
A good aestheticlly thought out area overall, but the castle was a bit... squareish. Traps were placed geniously
Intersection I
Just as you said, as soon as the areas of the desert loaded, I encountered massive lag. I'm sorry if I did this, but I hopped over into MC Edit and deleted all the entities in the area. The game instantly speedened. My goodness Amalon, you just have to spend every moment on aesthetics in this map! The intersection looked amazing. I immediately stepped into the Dominion Monument. I didn't take the minecart, I walked there, looking for traps (*immediately having Waking Up flashbacks ) The Mounument gave me a darkish feeling. I'm planning to turn the 2 blaze spawners into a Ethonian Dual Blaze Farm. <3
Looks like I'm going to have to stop here. I'll complete this tommorow.
You are a talented map-maker Amalon. You know where to place traps where the player least expect them. Your designs with color are also beatiful. Looking forward to more!
Wow, thanks for your kind words! I really apreciate it. Sounds like you're off to an excellent start. Just so you know, the main reason I give out so much loot is because of how quick it is to lose everything in the map. I can't wait until you get to the really exciting areas of the map!
Gorram, Amalon, I did NOT give you enough credit when I reviewed the Cutthroat Caverns months ago. I just nabbed both wools from the throne of the colossus and holy frig I'm still shaking. The map's challenge and aesthetics are unparalleled. Well done.
I'm about three wool blocks and the coal ore from finishing the map.
You were being truthful about the black wool, weren't you? I didn't stick around to find out.
Also, what was in that chest below the red wool? I blew it to smithereens for the sake of my framerate.
Glad you like it, and congrats on getting the red and black wools! Also, yes, I was being honest with the black wool. Used an item-despawn-based timer to count around 25-30 minutes before the redstone is triggered. ^^
The chest under the red wool contained
Amalon's scythe, which was a diamond hoe with sharpness 10 or something like that. All I remember is that it 1-hit kills mobs.
Also, just as a reminder, the coal ore does not exist in a chest. It used to be in the Nether, but I forgot to put the chest in and never remembered updating the map to put it back in.
I've been noticing your idiotic acts around here on the forums, and I've been following you to make sure I haven't accidentally misjudged you. Apparently I was wrong. You are as self-centered and immature as I think you are, or maybe even more.
I haven't played Amalon's maps, and I haven't found this thread until I saw your dumb post above me, but I think you are behaving unacceptably. First of all, you obviously haven't made a CTM map. You don't know the time it takes, the hard work or the effort required. Hence you don't have the right, let alone authority to tell people that you know what a mapmaker should be and they aren't one.
Secondly, what do you mean by "WHAT KIND OF CTM MAPMAKER A YOU"? Is this an expression of rage, or stupidity? CTM was created because Minecraft was not ROM-Hack, but maps need to be balanced according to user feedback. You obviously don't know that, and you don't stop to think when you post. I think Amalon deserves some respect for even making a map. You, on the other hand, just posted about three or four condescending, useless posts in a row scolding different mapmakers for making "crappy" maps. You are a perfect example of who your posts should target. People like you shouldn't be here, in fact.
Finally, if you don't have anything useful to say, or anything productive, don't bother posting. I'll just come along and criticize you again with another 300+ word post. I don't like to criticize, but this is just horrible.
Before you counter with some pathetic excuse that I've seen many times over like "I'm only 12" or "dude this is the forums, I can do whatever I like", the Internet is on Earth, and hence its users should be civilized. You're not.
To everyone else, please ignore and keep on managing this thread. I don't want isolated incidents to tarnish the reputation of general participants.
I think some mods might improve the gameplay of this relic of map xD
2 out of three maps have been abandoned (sorry!).

In the first area,I'm fine with 50 or so FPS.
But when i reach Intersection 1,i drop to 1-3 FPS.

Decided to have a go at the map, seems pretty cool, here is link. Its prob the best video on the internet as of now
