the only downside to the map is that resources are so easy to get that it sorta removes the
''survival'' aspect
but it makes up for that in pure awesomeness

May i suggest trying out the new content download. The main challenges are the same but the elite challenge has now changed. It will take you to an amazing new location with its own set of challenges. Check out the special content download so you dont have to play through all your old stuff again and can jump right into the new stuff. Alot of the islands have been completely overhauled aswell and look amazing!

i will deffinetly try the new content but i still wanna finish this version of the mapp as well cuz when i start something i usually wanna finish it xD
PS: i was just swimming around when i found the diamond prism shortcut so its not like i have completed all of the other quests and challanges only like 3 or 4 lol

and i alrdy use the yogbox and equivalent exchange i have survival maps for them as well and i dont feel like going cobblestone mining that much on castaway island ;p (the sand and the water would mess things up lol)

PPS: when i said it sorta removes the survival aspect i didnt mean like for endgame when you have diamond armor and diamond swords and stuff but like in the begginning you get everything pretty much handed to you lol and its really easy to get iron in about 4 minutes from jumping off the plane (like the holy water bucket wasnt as holy to me anymore when i found it cuz i alrdy had about 3-4 xD) and all those diamonds in the trees as well lol

I understand where your comming from and i completely agree with you. I think that is one of the biggest letdowns when i made this map.

The problem is i cant go changing it now or everybody has to restart! So it is what it is... I only have one expansion planned for Castaway Island.

However i do have a completely new Sequel map in the making. Im literally handcrafting the entire terrain. So its only in super early condition. Plus alot of my time is going into maintaining this map and providing support at the moment.

Dont worry.... the expansion will be able to be installed into your current save file without you loosing any progress. Ive come up with a way to do it using the nether.


PS, I was editing the forum post and the code has literaly **** itself. The entire post is messed up and i cant add new lines or spaces or anything. I will have to redo the entire post from scratch tomorrow. Its 1am in Australia and i need to get to sleep for work tomorrow. I know it looks like totaly **** but hang in there, ill get it sorted

I downloaded this on Nov. 4th when the new content wasn't release
And when i checked back in Nov.6
I saw the new download
I guess I have to rebuild and collect everything again sadly.
And I don't want to download the "continued" because I barely did anything but collected some stuff.

One thing though - I died without resetting my spawn point with a bed. It spawned me quite far away from the main island - seems to be a huge tree island (Im assuming its the elite quest with the tree of life thingie). I'm guessing that wasn't intentional?

No... your right it wasnt. Let me explain how it happened...

The singleplayer, server and new content versions of the map are all the exact same map. The ONLY thing different between them is the spawn locations. Single player and server are set to challenge island and the new content spawn is out front of the Great Oak (where the new content is deep below the tree roots)

When i made the 3 versions all i did was fly around and set the spawns to different locations. I made the server first because it doesn't have the private jet in it, plus i blew it up doing some tests. Then i went and made the new content spawn, for the same reason, no jet. Then i went and imported the jet schematic with MCedit (allows me to blow it up, import it, blow it up, etc great for testing) and logged out for the single player save. I totally forgot to set the spawn back to challenge island =(

I realized this about 5 hours after i uploaded it and made a hot fix for it. If you download single player now its fixed. But if you downloaded it in that first 5 hours you have the broken spawn version (download statistics show 74 people downloaded it so i guess your one of them?)


Again i really apologies for that mate. You can change the spawn a few different ways or just put up with it. Its up to you, if your not to far along you could re-download it AGAIN but its the sort of map you don't want to keep starting and starting. Hence why there probably wont be any new versions unless i really need to fix something major.

Please remember this is my first ever map, and my second every version. Im doing the best i know how to do. But im learning ALLOT.



Teaser: The sequel is planned. I have a terrain draft in MCedit but at the moment im devoting my time to Castaway Island support.

Guys... honestly... You make me want to watch more. Welcome to the front page of the forum post. I love how you actually make my spelling mistakes funny. I love your reaction trying to read something. Jerp Jerp... $#$%ing lol'd for at least 10 minutes, That's going on the front page to!

In hindsight the emergency exit button should be a leaver... when there's more then one person it can get difficult to get out. Future releases will contain fixes for all this but i probably no new content. Due to the style of the map even if i released an updated version with spelling fix's... would it really be worth downloading and starting again just for that? Even with the v1.0 release many people do'nt want to upgrade and loose there progress (hence the new content version)

Besides... apart from making me look like a 12 year old idiot... the spelling adds character don't you think.

Would you believe im a 'Structural Aircraft Engineer' by profession in real life? Im starting to doubt my career move judging by poor ass attempt at spelling and the fact the plane blew the hell up.

But seriously! I would love to help promote your Let's Play, you guys are very entertaining to watch and i really... honestly CANNOT wait to see some of the adventures you guys will have with this map. There's tons to do and i hope you try to cover as much as possible =3

Hi! I was wondering, what's the difference between the singleplayer and multiplayer map? Because can't I just use the singleplayer map and put it up on my server to play with my brother?... Or do you have to have the server map? Because my internet is really slow and I already downloaded the Singleplayer map and the multiplayer map is going to take some time.
