I have a pretty large tree forest and I cut the wood and already have like 50 saplings so finding the excess blocks of wood is a hassle just to get the leaves; it'd be a lot easier/more entertaining if they were set on fire. Maybe just add, say, 5 gravel blocks?

with 1 gravel block and the glitch with a sticky piston you can make as much gravel as you want, so 1 is enought This block should be placed in one of the islands to reach in the new version of the map. Anyway, flint will be needed to turn on a portal (if there is also some obsidian, of course )

Oh, I had no idea you can make wool with string
This recipe is so useless in a normal map that many people don't know it :tongue.gif: Replacing wool with 12x string is a great idea :ohmy.gif:
Here is a quick summary of resources you might add in other islands :
gravel (to get flint)
obsidian and/or glowstone/soulsand/netherrack
mushrooms
clay
moss stone
redstone
pumpkins
melon/pumkin seeds (1.8)
more iron and/or gold
more dirt
more wool
more slimeballs
And I just had an idea : you could put island(s) with a sign with coordinates of another very far island with a hudge reward :
64x block of iron and/or gold
diamonds
music discs !
The reward isn't written on the sign of course.
Other useless or fun things you can add of far islands :

1. Extract the archive
2. You have now two folders : "__MACOSX" ('cause Noobcrew is working on a mac) and "SkyBlock1.1" (or SkyBlock1.0).
3. Put the "SkyBlock1.1" folder in the "saves" folder of Minecraft *
* (on Windows : + R, type "%appdata%", OK, open the .minecraft/saves folder and past the "SkyBlock1.1" folder here)
It's working fine on 1.8 if you follow exactly theses steps :wink.gif:

The first saplings are the hardest to get
Yeh the first saplings are the hardest, and really.. the file comes with a _MACOSX folder? Lol :huh.gif:
Yep, the "__MACOSX" folder is automatically added when you create an archive using the Finder app, but is hidden on MacOS, only visible on another OS like Windows :wink.gif: This folder contains thumbnails and other useless and unwanted files :dry.gif:

place the file named SkyBlock(whatever version you downloaded) into your saves folder.
* (on Windows : + R, type "%appdata%", OK, open the .minecraft/saves folder and paste the "SkyBlock1.1" folder here)
On mac go to finder, your name, library, application support, then open the minecraft folder and put the save in the saves folder.
Does it matter? It's a self-created map, the version is irrelevant.
