I'm so glad you added Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff common rooms because Ravenclaw is my house!(I love it.) One thing is, you seemed to put so much work into Gryffindor common room but not as much to others. Anyway, I love this map, vest Hogwarts EVER! And I've seen A LOT of Hogwartses
Nice map. I liked exploring it a lot, but since you asked for feedback...
I'd like to see the map be a little bit more faithful to the books, especially when it comes to things that haven't been in the films, but that we know the location of from the books. I spent ages looking for the Hufflepuff common room around the ground floor/dungeon areas because the book says it's down there near the kitchens.
Also I can't help feel that the common rooms are to easy to find. Again in the books they're not signposted, and students only really know about the location of their own house common room, so I can't help but feel they should be hidden, and preferably in a way that matches with the books.
I'd also like to see some of the teacher's offices and living areas. Dumbledore's office in particular. The room of requirement. The kitchens. The whomping willow. The prefect's bathroom. Also some of the stuff in the lake from the Goblet of Fire would be ace.
On the positive side I really liked the idea of having diamonds to collect as it kept me looking around, and ment I found areas I might otherwise have missed. I found 104 in total! Are there more hidden?
Also I liked the idea of having hidden passages and little locked away areas. That kind of thing feels very Hogswarty.
1.Well it's hard to remain faithful to the books because the layout of the castle in the books is totally different, and the castle is completely different so it's useless to try combine them as their parameters would clash.
2. Yeh well in the films/books they are shown to their dorms however we don't have the benefit of NPCs in by default so can't have someone show them to their dorms so sign posting is the next best thing.
3. There is never any mention of the sleeping quarters of the staff, so can't really implement them, they are never shown for sure. Dumbledore's office is in there. Room of requirements is being done currently. The Kitchen is in there. Whomping Willow is being done currently. No point doing under the lake because you'd drown, i have thought about it.
I'm stuck in the chamber with the creeper face thing. (Incase it wasn't obvious, on not a huge fan of Harry Potter.) I closed the wall behind me. Was I not supposed to do that?
In the chamber, there is a switch on the back wall. It will open a passage near where you entered. But since you closed the wall, you won't see it.
Amazing work here Actionman, it took my girlfriend and myself 3 HOURS to find all 100
, but it was totally worth it!
Those last few i found were really hard: The ones hidden in the water trenches in greenhouses, the one chest hidden in the water at the dock.
I also have an idea and a question for you, if you'd be so kind to answer.
1. What was the purpose of the level near the top of the winding staircase?
2. When I found your hidden flint/tinder dispenser I immediately though back to the mirror of arised, I think that would be a GREAT hiding spot, if you catch my meaning. :wink.gif: soon as i went in i was practically IN lava. lol
Open up the zip, and then inside there will be the save folder. Then (depending on if you have a mac or pc) go to %AppData& or Library>Application support and find the minecraft folder. Inside there will be a saves folder. Put the Hogwarts save in there and then run the game.
This is amazing!
But, just one thing, when will the next update, with room of requirement etc, be released, or has it already??
Thanks a lot for this, this is absolutely brilliant!
I saw this featured as the digital diamond and I went to check it out.
Its very small in my opinion
The common rooms are nearly 6x6 each
Here are some images of my castle for comparison
Modeled after the REAL castle.
Orlando Florida (as you can see below)
I took the pictures of the castle in real life so i could get references
Also i noticed your layout of the castle is wrong based on the Warner Brothers official blueprints
I was wondering did you do any research on the floor plans before you built this?
If you're interested in seeing more just PM me i would like it if you could join my server
and see my castle. I even have a custom texture pack for it with real Hogwarts paintings

It's %appdata%. Go start>Run>type %appdata%
Then find the folder named .minecraft
Open it, then open the folder in it that says saves.
Place the map folder in the download there.
Then go back a page and open the folder named texturepacks.
Drop the texture pack folder in there.

I had this same problem. You have to delete your Mediafire cookies and then try again.

One day I will care enough to fix my avatar. One day.

I end my sentences with periods. Three...
That sentence made no sense whatsoever... What exactly did you mean by that?
